Less than a year after Putin's New York Times op-ed condemning the use of force in Syria without UN consent, Russia has troops on the ground in Ukraine. CNN's Brian Todd reports many are now calling the Russian leader a hypocrite.
Russia is joining the long list of nations who use the "double standard" as a routine rhetorical weapon. In this tactic, the speaker accuses his opponents of doing the same thing that he is doing, and says it is good when he does it, but bad when his opponents do it. Russia is currently attempting to take over the #2 spot in use of the double standard, after the USA, which has led in the #1 spot of most brazen use of the double standard for some 50 years in a row.
