CNN's Dana Bash reports on the rise of Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand and why 2013 shows she's a rising democratic star.
Kirsten Gillibrand was very evasive when Dana Bash pressed her on the conversation that she had with Hillary about Hillary in 2016. We New Yorkers know when our junior senator is for real and when she is faking it. And she is insincere when she tells us that Hillary is making a run in 2016. Kirsten Gillibrand knows very well that Hillary's political career is over. Maybe she doesn't want to be the one to report that Hillary is finished, but that doesn't give her the right to lie to us about where Hillary stands in 2016. Hillary's stunning defeat in 2008 and her subsequent servitude to Obama make her a political non-starter in 2016.
When Kirsten Gillibrand tells you something she knows to be untrue, she is so animated, and the pace of her talking picks up. Probably gets it from her kids when they tell her something that isn't quite true.
As for her own chances in 2016, Kirsten Gillibrand has some very considerable limitations to overcome before she can be thought about in presidential terms.
