Days away from a trip home to Texas to see his wife and young son, Ronnie Smith - an American chemistry teacher at an international school in Benghazi, Libya - was gunned down during his morning jog. CNN's Barbara Starr reports on the new details, including whether his Christian faith made him a target.

What I don't understand is how Mr. Ronnie Smith could be so naive to jog in an environment thats been proven to be unsafe for Americans. Didn't someone give him a heads up on what he should do and shouldn't do in the country? I am sure he'd be alive if it is the norm for people to jog in that region, but having been over to those countries, I know it is not.
When are we going to get it? The expansion of Islam to dominate the world has ended the freedom of the rest of to travel the world in peace. Like it or not it just isn't safe anymore. How many have to die before we realise it's much better to take our vacations in our own countries. Canada and America could take a lifetime to see. We may not pay teachers the money these oil rich countries will pay but do we want our teachers going elsewhere when they are so needed here at home?
