"Shut down Blackberry, shut down equipment, and go home." That's the message that federal employees are getting from their bosses today as they prepare for a potential government shutdown. CNN's Chris Lawrence details the possible fate of federal employees during a shutdown.
will this congress ever agree on anything .it time for spending or benefits for them to disappear. like dinners, cars, benefits, retirement to be cut or dissolved make them pay for their benefits. how about white house can eliminate some dinners, etc that is not needed for congress ,or diplomats. sure some things can be cut . the American people have been cut enough. look at your spending. this shutdown to prove that you have the upper hand is not helping and if you can not do your job then time to go to people that can do it. make us look like fools throughout the country in the us and abroad. American people is hurting and ones that are not I am happy for them but please grow up and do your job instead of acting like children. resolve issues without taking everything from us and look at yourselves.
Charles L. Morse....Making major adjustments to U.S. spending will never be accomplished by shutting down our government. There is a well-worn path to how government change and government bv the people does work. It works best by introducing bills that make sense, and voting on them. Our government can change laws, or repeal them by getting votes in the House and Senate + a President's signature. Not by extortion, threats of shutdowns, or power plays of misinformation funded by special interests with billions of dollars.
Interviewing Sen. Ted Cruz is directly supporting his campaign of misinformation. He tell us that the Republicans are
"compromising" when they keep planting poison pills into the temporary funding bill. He speaks of "millions of Americans losing their health care" due to the AFD . Much of this is non-sense, and much of it is by polling Texas citizens who are a solid anti-Obama block, no matter what the facts. In any event the way to fight for his "issues" is not by extortion techniques that will shut down the government. Many people who know little or nothing about either "Obamacare" or the state of our economy and currency fall for Ted Cruz and his radical Tea Party power plays.

Power plays and extortion by a disgruntled minority in Congress will not help our country. Shutting down the government or threatening to push the country into default is, essentially, a criminal act, far outside the normal and legal activities of our governing bodies. If this is too plain for the editors of CNN, then I must ask you why Oh Why do you allow an anarchist like Ted Cruz the luxury of your podium to spin his non-sense to the inevitable confusion of your listening public?
"Yes it will hurt." Obviously not you. It is the heighth of hyocrisy for any member of Congress to get their paycheck, depositing taxpayer dollars in their personal checking accounts, whlle even one federal worker or contractor or military personnel (let alone hundreds of thousands) is not getting theirs. The government is not some entity that lives and breathes on its own. The government is us, all of us. Federal workers serve the nation. Congress may have the power, but it does not have the moral authority to deny persons who earn their livelihoods by serving the general public their ability to pay their bills, while they themselves continue to be able to pay their own. If Congress could not continue to get their paychecks there would never be any government shutdown.
It's ok for them to mess with our money, but they can get paid? What kind of crap is this?
If there is a shutdown, what happens to the people who rely on the government for SSD or SSI?
Honestly I'm for a shutdown . Its time our government make a major adjustment and stop its wild spending spree . Yes it will hurt . But change always has its moments . Long term we change or go totaly broke and bankrupt !
