CNN's Erin McPike reports on dissension in the Republican Party as the deadline for the government shutdown approaches.
Let`s talk facts. I started a business in 2011 and had a five year plan. Part of that plan entailed having health insurance. In the beginning I could only afford a minimal policy and had planned to increase coverage each year. In January of this year my plan was halted abruptly because of Obama care. I was told because of a pre-existing condition that my policy which I originally wanted to purchase was no longer available to me and I had to go into a pre-existing pool which by the way was out of money. Then I was advised to wait to October. Well here we are and guess what the policy which would have cost me about$200.00 per month now I have to pay between $600.00 and $1000.00 per month. Why is that? Well here is your answer my income as a small business is based on my gross sales. My gross sales are approximately $60,000 but out of that comes about $20,000 for part time help and that before other expenses. Everything this President promised me as an American is a lie. I have a tumor inside my kidney and now I will have to let it go until it is too late. Thank you Mr. President. I wonder if there will be one Democrat at CNN that is capable of telling the truth about this law.
Democrats will be the ones who shut down government. The House will pass it's bill, and the Democrat Senate will reject it. By rejecting it, they are forcing a potential shutdown. of course, the narrative of the media will always be that Republicans are at fault. It appears that it is the President who is being stubborn and unwilling to compromise. So why is he escaping blame from the media?
These Tea Party fanatics actually think a shutdown would not be serious. How about hundreds of thousands of federal workers and their families losing their jobs with no unemployment system in place to help them? How about nearly all government offices closed, along with all parks and museums. There will be no visas or passports. The courts would shut down in only a few days. There may be no federal employees to send our Social Security checks. Meanwhile, Obamacare will continue to be implemented as planned, because it is self-funded. How about totally disrupted economy and major effects on international trade and diplomacy. They are committing suicide and trying to convince the other Republicans to make it a mass suicide.
Dan, the House already submitted a bill that would fund everything else. Why hasn't the Senate jumped on that to keep everything else going while the ACA is discussed? It is the left that is making it an all-or-nothing deal. Everything you mention would be running normally if the Senate had acted rationally.
So would someone explain to me why it is wrong to ask the congressional elites to work under the same system as the rest of America? And why not have Obama care a choice if it`s so good people will still sign up? These are the two points the Democrats really want to take a stand on. Boy I can`t wait til 2014.
