I retired early to do volunteer work and am paying $440 a month for my COBRA coverage from my previous employer. Part of my plan was to be able to used the new healthcare exchange to get the same coverage, but at a lower price, since my income is so low now. I am diabetic and need healthcare and I estimated that my monthly cost with subsidy would be less than $100 a month. if Congress put it off for a year I am screwed because the current insurance I have is so high and runs out in August of 2014. I have used the state site health exchange website and it is fairly comprehensive and easy to navigate.
I still don't understand why CNN doesn't cover address how many people are actually waiting for Obamacare to go through so they can finally have insurance. I am lucky, I can afford insurance, but I know many folks can't get health care. Yet those people who have been waiting for so long, aren't even being discussed.
