What a U.S strike in Syria could accomplish

CNN's Tom Foreman and military analyst Lt. Col. Rick Francona explain how effective "limited" military action in Syria could be and what it would target.

    Did'nt we learn from Iraq and Afghanistan that to totally destroy a nations military gives extremists the upper hand? I feel for the Syrians who lost there lives, but their economy needed to be destroyed. With no taxes effectively being collected the military goes unpaid, and this takes time. Now, under the guise of a chemical release we, the US can now surgically let Syria's military understand that their continued allegence to Assad will be their distruction if it continues. The best scenario is for the military to change their allegency to the moderate opposition so that when Assad is overthrown there will be adequit power on the part of the military to quell any extremist grab at power. If there is no intact Syrian military then we, the US will eventually go in so as not to allow a terrorist state, and history tells us how that goes.
