The U.S. inches closer to striking targets in Syria, with warships in place and the administration saying there is "no doubt" that chemical weapons were used by the al-Assad regime. Wolf Blitzer will go in depth again with guests, analysts and reporters from around the world to examine the U.S.'s military options and debate the merits of a Western intervention. Tune in at 6p ET - only on CNN.
The only reason the President has a credibility problem is the behavior of our senate and congressional leaders. They constantly show the world that they would rather fight him at every turn than to get work done(you know their jobs). No other President has ever had to deal with this much animosity and public disrespect. If our elected leaders don't show him any respect or support than why would anyone else. Not even Nixon and he was impeached. It is time for them to stop acting like children and behave like adults. They are killing this country's ability to what needs to be done.
Wolf, we will have boots on the ground in Syria regardless if we strike now or not. When Assad falls - and he will - we will be standing by to send in troops to protect any WMDs that are in the country. We can't let them fall into the hands of al Quida, can we? Once there, we'll be drawn into the sectarian violence just like everyplace else in the Middle East.
my thoughts on syria. I believe the best action with regards to syria is to effect a sea and air embargo. This worked well for president Kennedy 51 years ago and i believe it will serve its purpose now.
It's a no win scenario, it's best to let our enemies fight it out between themselves. Putin in this case seems to have the best judgement. McCain hasn't been right about anything in so long, its probably best to totally ignore him. The Bush Cheney Presidency is the gift that keeps giving, taking Saddam out is surely having it's consequences. Nothing new, these consequences, were speculated prior to the invasion of Iraq now are just coming to fruition . Hezbollah and al Qaeda fighting it out amongst themselves, we should just stay out and save our money.
