Egyptian ambassador: "Vast majority" support gov't actions
Mohamed Tawfik, Egypt's ambassador to the United States, joins Wolf Blitzer in The Situation Room and defends his government's actions against supporters of Mohamed Morsy, arguing that its efforts were not only necessary, but also supported by the majority of Egyptians.

The Egyptian people were kidnaped by this MB movement …don’t say that this President Morsi was democratically elected (with a small majority and a grate doubt of fair election procedures), when they have been financially supported by the US administration…Egypt need to be governed by a patriot Egyptian who unify Egyptians and not by a ruler that represent a multinational organization prioritizing other goals as it has been clearly said by their leaders..
Instead of unifying Egyptians by having a fair constitution they created a radical one neglecting the human rights of women and Christians. Moreover they had deals with terrorist organization (Hamas) and used them in actions against the country….they facilitated to their members to have legal aspect to use them in voting…they were creating a parallel state.
They went in conflicts with all organizations and were ruining the state…and with no possibility to rectify their pass, the people has no other way than protesting in mass to ask for early presidential elections…a fair demand after one year of failure and leading the country to a disaster.. This was protected by the PEOPLE’S Army… (not the Regime).
This has been refused by MB moreover they menaced with blood shades if this would happen. These MB are terrifying the country and there is no peaceful manifestations, but chaos creators allowing them self to occupy sites harming other people life’s and burning either government buildings and churches or Christian activities to oblige the return of this ex – president who is moreover accused of cooperating with foreign parties in activities against the country.
Egypt has the right to fight terrorists. The Muslim brotherhood are terrorists. Egyptians stand firmly behind Al Sisi and support the government's decision to oust Morsi and fight the Muslim brotherhood.
How do you feel when you see the so called pacifist pro Morsy, shooting at residential buildings and at people with machine guns? These are the people you are standing behind.
How did you feel when these same people destroyed and burned over 45 churches all over Egypt, burning and looting the houses of the Christians in Upper Egypt.?
When will you really understand that Egypt is fighting for its life, it's very existence against a cruel,vicious, Faschist Islamic militants, known as the Moslem Brotherhood. When will you react and speak out the truth? Your conscience will one day awake and all the dollars that you are being given to distort the truth, will not quieten it.
Shame on you for standing by terrorists and terror. Egypt will never die, we are passing through very hard times but believe me, WE will prevail, and the truth will be known to all.
As for the wishy-washy policies of Mr. Obama, he reminds me of a stanza that Nostradamus said " the man whom you think comes for peace, is the one who will bring war" and this happened.
What a difference to the time when he first visited Egypt, he was received with open hands and hearts and now he was able to single handed turn 90% of the Egyptians against him and his administration (a feat even the Bush administration could not achieve). How low he fell.
Last but not least, I always admired you and respected you, but it seems I was naïve in believing that you stand for truth and for the freedom of people especially women.
As an Egyptian American, I can't understand the one sided accounts portraying the Brotherhood as the victims They are using weapons and are the same sort of organization that the US is attacking with drones all over the Middle East. They are a terrorist organization with a single minded agenda to move Egypt back to the Middle Ages. They show no religious tolerance as evidenced by their destruction of dozens of churches. America wake up! Egypt needs to be a free and democratic country, not some sort of facist religious state.
The Muslim Brotherhood are (and have always been) a terrorist organization. In fact, this was the US position too until 3 years ago. What we are seeing today is just further proof of how they resolve their political problems. Their views are in no way related to Islam. They are a failed political party that happens to carry and use arms against the civilian population simply because the people said that they did NOT want them or their president. Is this what the US wants to support in the region? Is this what their dfinition of democracy is? Rabid, fundamentalist, terrorist elements on the loose in Egypt by the unwavering support of the Obama administraion. It simply defies logic!

What is happening in Egypt is an internal matter based on the Egyptian's authorization to the government, army and police forces. We took the decision to fight terrorism represented in MB and their supporters. The American administration needs to deal with recent facts, though against their will and stop supporting this terroristic group.

Egyptians suffered during the Muslim Brotherhood rule. When the Egyptians decided to overthrow them, they were prepared to the consequences; they will be subjected to the rage of a terror group with international ties. The MB was always a banned, radical group and Hammas was part of it.
What was believed to be Pro-Morsi peaceful sit-in was turned into a safe haven to members of Hammas, Qaeda, Jehadists who were invited to inhibit Sinai during the rule of Morsi. Furthermore, authorities were not allowed to set a foot in the sit-in premises. People living in the area had to be subjected to search at their check-points. Weapons were smuggled, they build fortifications. They turned surrounding parks and gardens into restrooms. To make things worst they turned their sit- ins into "concentration camps" where they tortured and killed people, whose bodies were either disposed into trash or were buried.
