Eight years of "The Situation Room"

Eight years ago, Wolf Blitzer welcomed viewers into "The Situation Room," a place "where news and information from around the world arrive in one place simultaneously." Here's a look back at our very first episode on August 8, 2005. What are some of your favorite memories of the show over the last eight years?

    Congrats Wolf! The Sit Room is THE place to get a great summary of all the day's important news as well as in-depth balanced discussions on the day's most important news stories. I can't believe it has been eight years since the Sit room opened for business! You have certainly set the standard for CNN and cable news shows in general. Your imprimatur can be seen on quality network and cable news productions and includes everything from the format of individual story content, interweaving live news reporting, inclusion of an interview of special guest(s) to highlight specific stories, to the use of guest panels for the presentation of BALANCED in-depth discussions on key program stories. It appears to me that all CNN news programming has followed your example. This includes Outfront, 360, and all the CNN Sunday news programming from GPS to Reliable Sources. I also believe other network and cable news shows have adopted many of your ideas.
    I wish you only the best in the future. May all your desires be fulfilled!

    My favorite moment was when I was on the Caffety File. He even chuckled after mine! Here's to many more years Wolf! I love the show.
