Paula Deen's ex-publicist reacts to the Food Network's decision to not renew Deen's contract over the use of racial slurs.
RELATED STORY: Official: Food Network will not renew Paula Deen's contract
What did I JUST say about ethnic slurs? (Will Ferrell/Alex trebek)
That isn't really saying much. I can't cook very much and I can cook better than Paula Deen.
People say what is truly in their heart. Paula Deen's use of racial slur and admission that she has used it in conversations, shows her true character. We are a nation that is always fighting for equality and to have someone with that kind of mentality is always a set back. I saw the apology, didn't think it was sincere. She seem increasingly uncomfortable every time she apologizes. She had the opportunity to clear things up in a actual interview. To be a no call, no show says a lot. Some people just cannot control their true emotions. She is a cook, not an actress. The food network made the only decision they could. Allowing her to stay would be condoning her behavior. That just the way its.
This guest is a publicist? She is very inarticulate and not doing Paula any good with this interview.
The Food Network is showing an ethical and moral response not to mention monetary responsibility by firing Paula. She brought it on herself. Money ruins people if they let it. In this case, she has been shown for how she really is. It is sad to think that anyone would speak out so irresponsibily and disgustingly in her position. We have seen what happens when that is done–a loss of income and standing in their community.
Does anyone believe that Paula would have come forward with an apology if the light hadn't been turned on her? It will take another generation or so to rid America of racial hatred. I look white, so people often say terrible racial things to me about others. I was at an all white meeting one day and those familiar comments were made so I said, "I guess by looking at me you'd think I'm white. Everyone froze–it was funny to see, but not a funny situation. Paula is a racist and seems not to be an honest woman by all accounts so far. Now she is trying to save herself! What a shame. Haters will always be haters, I guess. It is so sad because even children enjoyed her program. Imagine how they feel about her now! I wonder how Oprah feels about her now. Racial hatred goes deep. By the way, I AM white. Shame on haters. I am glad Paula was exposed for what she really is. She thought she was untouchable, but she wasn't!
Who cares about Paula Deen, anyhow? She could teach us how to bake a wedding cake with all that makeup caked on her face. This is just another opportunity to complain about racist white people. Nobody dares complain about racism when it comes from people of color.
jesus this women seems like she put her foot in her mouth and she can't manage to pull it out.. talk about struggling to get what you want to say out...
Actually , I could care less and I don't think this news story is worth a minute more of my time. What I would like to see CNN start covering is the fishing out of the oceans and possibly help the future world by reporting the story and developing interest and possible solutions to prevent it. I already know how to cook better than Paula Deen and the only reason I'd watch a cooking program is if a sexy host in a bikini was welding a skillet or tossing a salad. That to would eventually become boring and I'd look for something else of interest.
