We do not need a lot of storm chasers. First, when the path of the storm is being picked up by satellite, then various probes could be placed in the path of the storm far enough ahead to provide all the data that a human being could achieve by being in the storm. Robots, droms and other artificial intelligent equipment should be deployed to feed weather data to the weather stations around the world. Also, it should be against the law for cowboys, thrill-seekers, or tourists to get close to a storm for chasing it.
