  1. Alaskan

Mr. Newcomb: Don't move to Alaska. People live here because they want to be far from Lower 48 culture, driving and hysteria. Please research permafrost before you make it sound like an alien life form. Fix your own city and state before you make ignorant statements about how another state should be.

Sure has been happening a lot. If I were a rich man, I would like to take possession of each and every troubled and un-troubled liner and use them as floating hotels for construction crews to build/extend Interstate 5 to Anchorage. Building bridges and tunnels all along the Alaskan coast through Juneau over islands and fjords and near glaciers and all that. It would be so nice for the United States of America to rescue the people of Alaska so that if they wanted . . . they could even WALK out of there when the permafrost becomes TOO MUCH. A Pacific Coast Highway that could truck manufactureds; that could host traveling tourists; that could evacuate Alaskans; that could be a new & ultimate scenic route. Alaskans ONLY have the Fairbanks/Yukon route. And THAT is rather treacherous for 1/2 the year.
