Anthony Bourdain inspired by Libya
CNN’s Anthony Bourdain sat down with Wolf Blitzer in the Situation Room to discuss his upcoming episode of “Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown” on Libya.
Bourdain recently traveled to the Libyan cities of Tripoli and Misrata to learn about the people, culture and food in the nation that’s still recovering after the country’s dictator Moammar Gadhafi was overthrown and killed in 2011.
Bourdain describes Libya as “inspiring” but "hearbreaking" describing many young, earnest people who expressed a desire to remake the country.
The full interview airs Friday at 6pm ET on CNN.

News flash Tony, there are women in Libya. For your daughter's sake, try to film at least one woman doing something other than succumbing to the status quo, in your CNN "reporting". Try not to nod your head in agreement with the men who would oppress your daughter and your wife, if given the opportunity. You have a serious platform. You can make a difference. Don't be a pussy.
Anthony' Bourdain's Libya show was great....but could have been even better if Sarah Sider from CNN had gone along and provided her input after all the good coverage she provided during the uprising/revolution/war in Libya.
The Xenia tornado of 1974 was an EF-5 that killed 33 people and seriously injured over 1300 other people practically wiping out the entire City of Xenia Ohio, but it's path started in Kettering Ohio where it dropped softball size hail and first killed a girl who worked in an outdoor Foto-Mat in the Rikes Kettering parking lot. The recent tornado in Oklahoma was not the largest ever recorded on Earth, the one up in Xenia was and still holds the record of destruction, both town, city and home communities.
I really like the series except there is almost ZERO mention about the women behind all these stories. All the interviews, take asides, one-on-one discussions, are mostly with men. How much can you really learn about life in these countries without the woman's view?
I agree. I've noticed this trend with Mr. Bourdain throughout his television tenure and I hope he takes this CNN platform to make a difference. He's got a young daughter and I can't imagine that he would want her to be treated the way females are in some of the countries he's covered, including Libya.
I just saw Anthony Bourdain's " Lybia" episode and it was terrific! Congratulations, I am looking forward to watching future episodes of "Parts Unknown".

Don't you suppose that this is cover-up for Occidental? Why would there be an embassy at a port that is pretty much a straight shot from natural gas fields in the south AND NOT at the Capitol? Armed robbery.
