If the Republicans are serious about our national financial debt and deficit, then they should rescind the Bush tax cuts, cut the corporate welfare, reform the farm subsidies and plug the tax loopholes and offshore accounts. These big blocks of money would probably pay off the debt in time and faster then nickle and diming what's left of the middle class and the expanding poverty class. Isn't 13 years enough of rolling in the money from the tax cuts to the 1%. The senior citizens endured a 3 year halt on cola payments without complaining. The greed and the obvious pressure from special interests who oppose the ACA and oversight of the Consumer Protection Bureau and regulation of the health care industry is being played out in the behavior of the House of Representatives Republican members. If members of Congress only work 3 days a week (Mon. & Fri= traveling days) then perhaps they should be treated as part-time employees like the rest of us.

i am appalled that newt kept asking Wolf who is "barack obama"–well, he is President Obama and the President of the United States of America and holds one of the most powerful positions that any man can hold. Guys like newt constantly defame the President with negatives, yet they lack character, integrity and old fashion respect for the office, his position and humanity as a whole. my question is who is newt–he is a has been and a loser who will never in this lifetime get to be president of the united states of america–he is just the embodiment of a sore loser and a hater. get over it newt!

They are both right ! Don't make any concessions to the Republican Scum, they are on there way out and the only time they worry about the deficient or budget is when we have a Democratic President, our vessel for change that poops out or caves and folds. God if he'd only stick to what he ran on way back during the first election and start signing some executive orders, instead of playing footsies with the GOP. Mr. President there already wasn't a cola for SS for three years, whilst prices on everything rose by huge percentages. If you want the economy to improve and pay off the debts, the Poor People Need the money to spend so they can live, vs the rich hoarding trillions on offshore accounts.
