Cops called over photo of boy with rifle

Did police go too far after a dad posted a photo on Facebook of his young son holding a rifle? CNN's Mary Snow has more.

While we desparately need to reduce gun violence, this is an egregious overstep by law enforcement! The police need not see what is in some random family's safe without a warrant. The threats issued by law enforcement equate to bullying and should not be tolerated by anybody. Unnecessary threats of administrative action from people in authority serve to deteriorate our trust in pubilc offices. Finally, nobody should permit law enforcement to search anything without a warrant. Doing so will eventually degrade our rights and we will all be victims of warrantless summary searches. Punish those uncontrolled and undisciplined police officers and set an example before this spirals out of control!

Are you kidding me!! Republicans can't even pass laws on straw purchasing which accounts for almost half the guns on the streets in cities......No one should be able to buy multiple guns, sell them to criminals and not be responsible for the killings and crimes that happens with those guns. It's common sense that if people who are driving criminals or lying for criminals get punished, then those who supply them with deadly weapons should be doubly held responsible!! And why would anyone need more than ten rounds in a clip.....and even if they did, for the sake of the whole who may be gunned down like the kids in Aurora, a sensible person would make that sacrifice. There is no use for War weapons on our streets.....then we wonder why war catastrophes happen in our publics

Look how he's holding it, finger above the trigger, barrel pointed up, and the mag looks the have a grove in it and i see no brass. Looks like the dad has instilled proper gun handling methods why were the police called? i applaud the dad for teaching his son respect for fire arms.

I do not think so, since children are killing even their mothers now, after watching the shows on TV.
They all should be taught about eternal life, as The Lord said on Good Friday
"Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do" (Luke 23: 34)

So we are to rely on the police now to decide how to parent our children? And not be held accountable for a blatant disrespect for our rights?

Easy answer, yes they did and they should be docked pay and put on administrative leave with out pay.
