You may have seen the video of a machine gun created using a 3D printer. I hope the politicians use this to their advantage. I would tell the gun manufactures that this could put them out of business. Lawmakers could ask the gun manufactures to help them pass reasonable gun control laws and then the lawmakers could pass laws against making and using 3D created weapons.

Thank you Mr. mayor for your many "Progressive" measures in the new york city. This is the most significant of our nation's current problems. The Gun-worshipers are stuck in the feudal society mentality. I only wished for these citizens to wake up and "live in the 21st century".

What is the difference if you are trying to stay alive on the battle field or the street? Should you not have the same chance? I would rather have freedom than safety I am against any limitations on the Bill of Rights. I would rather have freedom than safety. Yes freedom carries increased risk from harm, but even in a maximum security prison weapons are used to kill people. If you cannot stop violence in a maximum security prison how can you expect to stop it in a free society? The best you can do is to live your life as a good person and try to protect your selves at all times.

There has never been a case in which an assault weapon was used in self defense by a civilian. There are already limitations on your so called freedoms that your ok with. Example: Speech (can't say bomb on a plane) Driving (Have to have car insurance to drive, or you have to stop at red lights).

Point is that all kinds of limitations are put in place to help make us safer. When you have a something manufactured for the sole purpose of killing, then maybe there should be some strict limitations on it. i.e. assault rifles.

"On the street." The people that use this term in connection with so-called assault weapons are liars. Assault weapons are the least used firearms in crimes. But "on the street" is a useful term – for useful idiots. And that's who appeals to Bloomberg. Bloomberg the nanny, knows what's best for everyone else. Ban soda, ban styrofoam, forced breast feeding, ban pain killers, ban firearms. The latter is most laughable when Bloomberg walks around surrounded by armed NYPD goons armed to the teeth to protect him (and to rough up anyone that asks that bag tough questions).

The guns being allowed on the street belong on the battle field.

Hey Jim, are you the kind that would send our boys into combat with only a semi automatic weapon or is it you don't know what a real assault rifle is???

Jim, I assume the guns you're talking about are actually rifles. Rifles like the AR-15? Yeah, pretty sure if you tried to get our service men and women to replace their M4's (actual assault rifles) with AR-15's, they'd laugh at you. Please, if you don't know anything about firearms, educate yourself before getting involved with the debate. I offer the same advice to Bloomberg and also give him this warning: The millions of NRA and other 2nd amendment group members have WAY more money than you. You've already caused over 90 manufacturers and businesses to stop selling to your law enforcement officers in New York. Great job! I'm sure your populace feels a lot safer.

Nick, You assume he does not know the difference. He knows; he just does not care. His goal is to disarm law abiding citizens. Only when we grasp this concept will the moves of Obama, Biden, finstein, Bloomberg et al make sense
