Giffords takes on NRA

   I'm an U.S. Army war vet. I think the N.R.A. can be a little extreme sometimes BUT... I don't think they are at this point with the subject at hand. Alot of people forget that many people have died for our rights including the second amendment right to bear arms. We gained our independence from Britain with average citizens owning guns. That amendment wasn't made for us to have the freedom to hunt. It was put in place to keep ourselfs safe from the threat of a Government leader or leaders taking total control of our country and striping us of our rights and freedoms. There is a price for freedom. Don't get me wrong, I know that there are a high number of crimes and deaths related to guns but had those people not had guns to comitt those crimes, they would have found other means. A gun is not the deciding facter of someone comitting a crime. There are still alot of other ways for someone to kill another human being. I understand why Gabrielle Giffords is for gun control having been shot and almost killed herself. Don't forget the men and women who have died for our freedoms including the right to bear arms. Its one of the few freedoms we have that gives us, the people, the power and means of defending ourselfs. I for one didn't make the sacrafices I made to loose any of our freedoms or to have restrictions but on them. What happened at Sandy Hook Elementary would have played out differently had the shooter not had a assult riffle, but would have happened regardless. Too many of our freedoms have been compromised since 9/11, I beg, BEG for everyone to please not compromise anymore of what makes us great and a free nation cause I fear that if we do, we will no longer be free. Before I have anyone ask how I would feel if I was in Gabrielle Giffords place or had lost my 2 year old son as the parents of Sandy Hook Elementary did to a mad man with a gun. I would feel the same as I do now. I'd be enraged at the person and not the tool they used to do it.

   I am all for Gabby Giffords and her husband tackling the N.R.A. and their beasts! Hopefully, Senator Feinsten will introduce an assault ban that will also crackdown on "grandfathering" these weapons and their extended magazine clips too?? Blessings to Gabby G and her husband in creating this web site to fight against the N.R.A., helping them to get our lawmakers on their side! Pastor D

     Sorry Pastor but I don't think you or Gabby Giffords are in the right. And if you realy are a pastor you would remember that it wasn't a gun that killed gods only son. People will still kill other people regardles of size of magazine clips, type of round, type of gun or no gun at all. Evil people are the ones to blame and not the tools they use.
