Exclusive: Wolf Blitzer interviews Egyptian President Morsy

In an exclusive one-hour interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer in Cairo, Egyptian President Mohamed Morsy revealed his plans to visit the United States.

“God Willing, I will plan for this trip,” Morsy announced. “There is no set date yet but it will most likely be before the end of the first quarter of this year.”

When asked his thoughts on President Obama, Morsy told Blitzer that he respects and values him. “He played an effective and important role in the cease fire in regards to Gaza and the end of attacks against Gaza,” said Morsy.

Blitzer also asked the Egyptian President about the Omar Abdel Rahman, the blind Egyptian cleric who is serving a life sentence in a U.S. prison for his connection with the 1993 World Trade Center bombing.

“I want him to be free but I respect the law and the rule of law in Egypt and the United States,” Morsy said. He says he will discuss the issue with President Obama when they meet.

On Syria, Morsy backed calls from Syrians for President Bashar al-Assad to be tried for war crimes.

"The Syrian people through their revolution and through the movement will - when the bloodshed stops - move to a new stage where they will have an independent parliament and a government of their choosing," Morsy, Egypt's first freely elected leader, told CNN's Wolf Blitzer in Cairo. "And then they will decide what they want to do to those who committed crimes against them. It is the Syrian people who decide."

More of Blitzer’s wide-ranging interview with Morsy airs this week on “The Situation Room,” airing 4-7pm ET.

Quote from Wikipedia The Brotherhood's credo was and is, "Allah is our objective; the Quran is our law, the Prophet is our leader; Jihad is our way; and death for the sake of Allah is the highest of our aspirations." Now why are they dying for Allah? Who is their Jihad against? Uh, us?

Up is down, left is right...

Harvard University has posted a verse of the Holy Quran at the entrance of its faculty of law, describing the verse as one of the greatest expressions for justice in history, a Saudi newspaper reported on Sunday.

Verse 135 of Sura Al Nisa (women chapter) has been posted at a wall facing the faculty’s main entrance, dedicated to the best phrases said about justice.

A Saudi student who studies at Harvard published a picture of the poster in his Twitter page, according to the Saudi Arabic language daily Ajel.

Morsey says it should be taken into account that the sheik is old and he is a sheik. He doesnt take into account that the sheik, now old, tried to KILL as many US INNOCENT CIVILIANS as he could. Morsey doesnt realize how much he reveals in his statements and how he could never be a friend of the US.

I love the way Morsey says Obama stopped the "attacks on Gaza" but dont mention or seem to let himself comprehend that the attacks on Gaza were forced of weeks of hundreds of missles being fired into CIVILIAN neighborhoods in Isreal from Gaza. What a limited mind Morsey displays.
I also like how he "wants" the guy who bombed our CIVILIAN building to be released. Yeah...this guy is a "friend" of the USA...yeah right.

Our media demonizes this guy for his religion, but his first moves were to appoint Christians and women as high ranking members of his cabinet. He was largely responsible for the ceasefire and he has vowed to keep Egypt's peace treaties with it's neighbors. I sincerely hope and pray that we are leaving the era of puppet dictators collecting billions of dollars to brutalize their own people and we move toward an era where people dictate what kind of government they want. Some places can have liberal secular governments and that is fine. But what is good for us here is not good for other people that want other kinds of governments. As a free society (or formerly free society) we should be the first ones to respect that and stand up for their right to do so.

are u living in a same country, Egypt? what are u talking about? puppet dictators? he is a puppet dictators. we all know who is the real one who control this country. did you listen to the brotherhood leader 's statements, which are the only official governments statements now? did you know that in the first time in Egypt Top Islamic brotherhood leaders forbid even congratulate Christians for their Christmas? and Morsy didn't denied this. who is the woman in a high ranking member? did you know his people added a paragraph in their new constitution only to get rid of the only and first woman in Egypt work as a top judge in constitution court, and he did? did you know that 100% of his consultant are brotherhood and all minsters are being replaced one by one with same islamic figures. islam is a respectful religion same as other religions and there is no alternative for democracy, and you can't put islam in one hand and freedom and human rights in the other and ask people to choose.

Morsy has come to teach Obama how to put down a civil revolt by the people when you take away their religious freedoms. You get the news media to support your tyrant behavior and call those who want freedom terrorists.
