Obama chastises Congress before vacation

   This is a great day for our Country. Beoner and Republicans took leadership, cut deals and got bipartisan support in the house. They were able to get more tax cuts for the upper incomes which would have expired. Previously they already got steep spending cuts, they got more this time....so they can claim victory for themselves and America.

   I keep hearing about the impact of the fiscal cliff on the Republicans during the next election year. I could not care less. The impact is 'who gets RE-ELECTED' that is in the House and/or Senate presently. Personally I am not voting for anyone Democrat or Republican if they are presently in the House or Senate. This Congress has done absolutely NOTHING in four (4) years...especially where money is concerned, to help the American public.

   We live in Newfoundland Canada. We have always paid substantial taxes, and to my knowledge we are in a good financial state as a Country. So taxes being increased for the wealthy isn't a bad thing, however leave the middle class paying what they are currently paying in taxes.

     I think the congress should not be paid. They did not do their job and should not be paid. Deriliction of duty. Stop all of their prividgles. They can drive to work and they don't need free medical care or fancy desks and offices. They can take a bag lunch like the rest of the country does. I am sick an tired of them acting like spoiled children.

   I have served over 26 years in the Military. I have never seen a party want to cut education, programs that benefit the majority of the people and elderly in order to keep tax cuts and loop holes for the very wealthy. When it comes time to sacrifice the very wealthy are never anywhere to be found (unless to profit from other peoples sacrifices). I have never seen millionaires and billionaires or their sons or daughters in Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia or any other country serving our country’s needs. Strong economies have a strong middle class; countries where the very wealthy have most of the money have a very weak economy. It is time to do the right thing and the fair thing.
