People in this country have failed to realize that politicians they do not make practical decisions for the greater good of the country the make political decisions. Decisions that maintain their political power and benefit their benefactors, voters are just cannon fatter something to be used every election and forgotten about until the next election. This country needed a political enema and we the voter failed in our job this past election.
If Congress were a corporation I guarantee every employee at review time would be FIRED. Why did we re-elect the same members to Congress who got us into this mess and expect them to resolve the issue. Why did the politicians wait until the critical hour to try and resolve this issue, simple it was an election year and no one wanted to deal with the issues until after the election in fear of not being re-elected?
The stupidly by which they govern is only exceeded by the stupidly by which we vote. If there is ever a lesson to be learned from history it should be this. “Democracy is best served when the majority of people serve in it and to continually elect the same person again and again is nothing less than a dictatorship under the disguise of democracy. Only in politics does monogamy breed monotony, diversity is the essence of democracy”.
This country does not suffer from a lack of leaders; it suffers from a lack of GREAT LEADERS, leaders who would put the country’s needs first before their own political ambitions. All I see among all these politicians is political ambition no great leaders. We the American voter is responsible for the problems that exist in this country. We put these politicians in office no one else, we created the problem,we only have ourselves to blame.
What we need in this country is term limits on politicians. One, three year term for members of the House, one, six year term for Senators and one, five year term for the president.

Dear Friends and dear Senator Hagel,

I have been following politics for twenty years+. C-Span has been most helpful. Typically I enjoy watching the Senate. Informative, educational in many ways. Senator Chuck Hagel always strikes me as a extraordinarily intelligent man of exquisite judgment. Frankly you don't know that he has a given political party because he constantly focuses on that which is altruistic, the highest truth and common good, a rare treat but not completely uncommon, thank God.
I would work for this man in a minute, based on integrity and philosophy alone.

If there is a higher intelligence at work, we can only say
Good luck and congratulations Mr. Secretary.

    Sincerely, Helmut Eckart

There is no reason to worry.Just impeach all of our government including city, county, state, and federal and start over.First, cut the governments in half and make the other half get to work with a 50% pay cut and their benefits are cut to what us little people get.If they don't like it let them get a real job digging ditches etc. for minumin wages.Jim Thomas Phx.
