Libya emails show group claimed responsibility
Emails show that the White House knew a group took credit for the attack on US mission in Benghazi, CNN's Suzanne Kelly reports.

I thought the President said as we get information we have released it. What about the video? What about the audio of Woods and Doherty asking for help. I have always said the Democrats have had disdane for are military. Mr. Obama has no problem talking about the seals when it comes to Bin laden which by the way his loose lips probally got the seals killed in Afghanistan. When it comes to the seals asking for help in BenGhazi what do we here from the President crickets. He says he said do everything possible. Well show us the letter because it is protocol to put it in writing and did not you say as you get information you will release it. CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS,and NBC wil probally get Romney elected because one thing they fail to understand is there are Democrat veterans and they don`t like being lied to. A little off topic when Mr. Obama loses he will not be quiet and show respect like Bush and let Romney fix the country and also he will pardon Tony Resko.
We have NOT hashed over Benghazi Libya NEAR enough, I am applauded by the media's lack of wonder about this murderous attack on our country! Ambassador assassinated, Glen Doherty, Tyrone Woods and Sean Smith died. How many ambassadors have died in the last 40 years? This is a big deal, our media is now like Pravda. Protecting a failed President.
Who were the ones rescued?? Not a story about them. What gives? How come the President has not addressed this matter? Amazing!
It`s obvious from the Sunday shows the media is helping the whitehouse cover-up. What will you do when you find out the drones were armed and Woods and Doherty were painting the targets which gave up their position. Buit best of all when you truly find out it was the advice of Valerie Jarret that caused are military to stand down and let 4 Americans die. Sort of on the same topic if someone riots after the Nat Geo film will our goverment have Weinstein arrested.
If Obama acted on lybia half as fast as he is about the sandy storm those Americans could be alive. Is he acting now because this storm is in his back yard? Hope he moves back to Chicago ASAP. His comrads all live there or are in Federal prisons. Hope he can join them soon. He is covering his heine and congress is letting him get away with it until after the election. Then we can all sleep well at night with Joe Biden at the helm....God Bless America ...Please, God

Give Americans a break! Why is the media continually allowing so much air time with Republican criticism of the Obama Administration handling of the terrible attack on our Libyan consulate? Its reached the point of absurdity now as Darrell Issa dumped related classified documents, possibly that will harm allies in Libya, into this trash-heap of GOP jingoism. Why are you buying their witch hunt ravings on this topic? We all know that once President Obama and Hillary focus on the culprits, they will avenge. At least they will get it right. Obama deserves to be President again JUST for nailing Osama bin Laden! That alone is better than the 8 prior years of Republican fumbling. At least the Obama administration will not mix up the names like George Bush and the Republican hawks who took us into the heinous war in Iraq did - trying to convice Americans that Saddam Hussein (who did not bomb the world trade center) was Osama bin Laden (the mastermind of 911)! Now THAT was the biggest whopper ever told to the American public. Shut this diatribe down.
Why are you so concerned about basically one network who is reporting on this issue? I had to search for this information on CNN, and believe me I've been checking all the network news. If this were your son, or your spouse that was killed in Libya would you not desire the full story? You can not in your heart of hearts believe that the truth has been told. I say OPEN this issue up, do not SHUT it down, (transparency was something this president ran on- this is so transparent that you can't see it at all) May this country be preserved and truth prevail.
The White House knew within hours that the incident in Benghazi was a successful al Qaeda attack on our embassy and lied about it. 4 Americans dead and they lied about it. This administration let assault rifles be sold to murderous drug cartels which ended in the death of boarder agent Brian Terry. Yet the Operation Fast and Furious records have been sealed by executive privilege. How could you not want to find out the truth about his death unless it implicated someone? Politics or the truth. Dead Americans don’t seem to bother this president. I won’t vote for this crook.
The truly sad part about this whole mess is that the heros that lived trying to help the embassador will probally be reprimanded for not obeying orders and being good little Democrats and watch the embassador and thirty others die.

The cover up is not only in the White House but in the mainstream meadia. We want to know why our government didn't respond and why so many 'stories' came out so differently when our government and WH knew the truth.

When is CNN going to talk about the cover up? I see it discussed on other sites but you guys act like it is NOTHING. The ambassador asked for help as the attack was happening and was denied thrice. Tyrone Woods refused to stand down, as he was told by the state dept., and went to the embassy to save Chris Stevens...and was killed doing so. Yet you say NOTHING about it. What happened to CNN? I used to come here for all my news, but now you guys deal with trifles and don't press the administration to get real answers. A cover up has happened and CNN is talking about trivial issues. I have had it with CNN who should be informing the American people, not deciding which news is beneficial to the administration and sitting on news that may harm it.
Why is CNN not reporting the latest reveal about Lybia? The info now shows the White House knew in real time, the Situation Room, and the Oval Office denied 3 times the request for help.
Please report on some of the Libya issues. I am a fan and not liking that I have to get the latest news on FoxNews about the Bengazi situation. Please report on what we all want to hear about, the truth behind what happened in Bengazi.

I have lived my life by saying put yourself in someones shoes. So all these folks who say lets move on what would you think if you found out your goverment watched your son or daughter die in a 7 hour fight with assetts and hour away? Looking at the coverage I guess Democrats would say no big deal.

Regardless of what part of this story is accurate or inaccurate, it is obvious, that absolutely nothing was done to save the ex navy seals who did not die for hours after the attack.
The White House and the State Department watched, in real time from an overhead drone, live video of the attack and did nothing. They did nothing to help those Americans under attack, those Americans who ended up dead. Why not send fighters rather than a drone?
No action was taken, no troops deployed to aid those under siege in the 7 hour attack. That’s right, the attack lasted 7 hours. That’s more than enough time to scramble fighter jets that could have easily flown over the consulate or the safe house and, at a minimum, scared the hell out of the attacking terrorists forces, if not kill them.
President Obama and his administration did nothing.
Not only did they do nothing during the attack, they did nothing to protect the Ambassador and 3 other Americans. They left them vulnerable for such an attack with no resources to protect them. Surely, they knew how dangerous it was to leave an Ambassador with no security in such a place as Benghazi and if they didn't, then if nothing else, it shows how incompetent or how little regard they cared about their safety.
Regardless of who knew what when, the media should focus more on what caused this tragedy to occur and why more was not done before and during the attack, rather than trying to protect this administration because they certainly do not deserve to be protected or defended.
The real question is could this have been prevented? Yes, it could easily and should have been prevented. With added security forces as requested, although they would not be able to hold off such an attack, they would act as a deterrent from the attack ever happening. The administration had the intel on instability in the region, and certainly should have taken necessary precautions before September 11th.

These four Americans deserved better. If they were related to you, you may feel differently. Have a heart and pray for our country. It is in the hands of incomitent leaders.
i am sorry Ms. Norris you feel this way with the loss of these lifes and the ability to do something about it, we should here about it until we have the truth and the proper people are held accountable. this is no different to the attack in New York of the twin towers it is AMERICA SOIL that this took place on and we need to take care of our own.
