CNN's Wolf Blitzer interviews Sen. Feinstein, who was briefed in a closed door CIA meeting on the Libya consulate attack.
This terriost attack was not about the movie, it was a wake up call reminding us of 9/11
I Find it odd that the 2 have not been put together in the news as just that.
Why are our leaders lying to us by saying that the BRUTAL murder of our Ambassodor was not a planned terrorist attack? Do they really think we are that dumb to not read between the lines after watching the real life scenes in the world? An attack on our Embassies is an attack on us as a country just like it was when Japan attacked Pearl Harbor and the America's reaction should be as serious as it was then. We should quit apologizing for an insane act of one lone individual which is nothing compared to brutal killing of our Ambassador and the three other diplomatic employees.
I would like to know that myself.
Were not dumb and why does the media put us off as being blind and dumb.
We see that this was a planned attack, doesnt take a brain to put the attack and the date 9/11 which the attack happend on to know this was a planned attack.
Whats sad is that even the media never put the attack out there with the 9/11 date.
Its as if the media was told to hush hush things.
We all know how CNN favors Obama just by how they report on Romney and Obama.
Time to put the media in check I think, cause enough is enough
The CIA may be telling you what they want you to hear also WOlf, How could an attack of such magnitude go so well if it wa not planned to go on 9/11. Does this mean that the streets are full of people carrying grenade launchers around and just happened to be there. Do not think so, Like your program and wish you well, Joe
this was not the embassy what was he doing there and why did we have a consulate there thier where no people wanting visa's or american business needing help to do buiness there
Are you are idiot or simply do not know the meaning of "closed door CIA meeting?" There was a reason it was a "...closed door" meeting Madam Senator! You and Mr. 'Leaky' Senator Leahy need to removed from the Senate. And how in the world could the CIA have all collected and analyzed all of the data/information and raw intelligence to make such an assessment less than 72hrs after the event occurred – especially when someone within the US Intelligence Community stated a cable was sent to the Cairo Embassy some 48hrs before the attacks spread from Egypt to Libya?!
stirring up hatred and getting people killed is not FREEDOM OF SPEECH it is the same as yelling fire in a crowded theater! Alawi was killed by a US drone for making anti US videos and yet this jerk and the so called preacher in Florida who has now twice caused deaths, get a free pass. I say send both of them to the Mideast as embassy guards so they can understand the consequenses of big mouth stupid.
Look at all the anti-Christian, anti-Jewish, anti-American movies are out there you don't see Christians rioting in the streets and killing people. Read the Koran it is not a peaceful religion.
if this president was serious about foreign policy, he would show up for his intelligence meetings more than 40% of the time! The facts are he doesn't care. To not know that there are muslim terrorists in Egypt or Libya and leave your marines with no ammunition is beyond stupid. Obama knew what he was doing. He would rather the news media talk about Americans being murdered in Libya than the unemployment numbers back home.
CIA smokescreen as they go after them. Of course it was planned (for 9/11) and they were tipped off the ambassador was there in advance. Breaking News: it wasn't a coincidence two jets hit the World Trade Center.
What America may need right now to ease some tension in Egypt, Yemen and all those countries effected by the offensive movie, is a message from America in the language spoken by the local people of those countries. A message which can explain the American right of speech and that the view of one individual does not in anyway reflect the view of the rest of the country.
newsflash, this wasn't about a stupid 14 minute post on youtube. this has been in the works since the death of osama bin laden. they were only waiting until 9-11 to memorialize his death. stop swallowing the propaganda from the main stream media without at least using some common sense.
The world is no longer a simple place where soldiers wore the uniform of a country. The enemy is now small groups of madmen who think they are "cosmic warriors", and their attacks are meant not to bring a military victory, but to provoke a political reaction. Under Obama, the war against al-Qaeda and other Islamic extremists is comprised of operations by small detachments of special forces and drone operations. These have been extremely effective in that they have limited any political reaction by the general Islamic communities.
In 2005, a report to the CIA's Directorate of Intelligence by the National Security Research Division (NSRD) stated:
"The rise of religious movements in the late 20th century with a proclivity toward violence and terrorism – predominantly Islamic extremism – has significantly changed the landscape of international politics. It has also shifted the focus in analyzing the international system from the power struggle of Cold War politics and its attendant conceptual toolbox to a reality that emphasizes culture, violence in the name of religion, identity, and nationalism.”
“The cosmic war concept refers to the metaphysical battle between the forces of Good and Evil that enlivens the religious imagination and compels violent action. Cosmic war has roots in the theology of most religions. In the three monotheistic religions, it is the Day of Judgment, the cosmic battle between Good and Evil, and the realization of God’s ultimate purpose for His creation. Cosmic war ensues when this inner conflict between Good and Evil becomes manifest – physical, not metaphysical... It is more symbolic than pragmatic in intent and is performed in remarkably dramatic ways; its displays of violence find their moral justification in a religious imperative."
"States find themselves in a difficult position when confronting cosmic war. Tactically, the more states turn to military instruments, the more they run the risk of validating the theology of the cosmic warriors. In particular, the use of military force as a tool for combating cosmic war could be counterproductive; force could perpetuate the perception that a religious group is under attack and must fight for the preservation of the faith and its own existence. It validates the appeal of cosmic war... More generally, in dealing with a perceived clash between Islam and current U.S. foreign policy, an attempt ought to be made to blur the edges of that clash, not sharpen them."
This report was produced for the Bush administration in order to help it understand the continuing war in Iraq.
This new war is psychological rather then military. What to us may only be the exercising of free speech, is to the cosmic warrior a direct attack on them. President Obama clearly understands this, and just as clearly Mitt Romney does not. While the Obama administration tried to put out the fire, Mitt Romney chose, for political purposes, to pour gasoline on it.
viguy007, unfortunately, many of our citizens don't understand your rational. America isn't strong because we go to war easily. America is strong when we are using diplomacy in easing tensions. If we would shoot from the hip anytime we do have a crisis, as Mr. Romney obviously wants to do it, we would be hardly any better than those "demonstrators" in the Arabic world. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are living proof that we are not safer today than we were prior to those wars. We are safer NOT going to war by sending Navy Seals (Pakistan) or imposing a no fly zone (Libya).
never thought I'd have this thought process but am now wishing we'd close our doors to all people of middle eastern countries. I realize they definitely do not all despise us but many of their country-men do. I say let them all stay in their homelands and those that value the democratic countries and especially the USA can make a concerted effort to change the minds and hearts of their radical brethren. After that particular "Arab Spring" has been accomplished we can reopen our doors.
I am sick of the political bashing. Enough, we as Americans should start demanding conversations of substance and solutions. The politicians are working for their parties and not for Americans. Maybe if they working for who votes for them life in America would improve for everyone.
The nightmare occurring in the middle east isn't Obama or anyone one individual's fault. These citizens are behaving as they wish and we are delusional thinking it's all about us.
We continually fund one government after another only to have them attack us later. Why isn't history teaching our leaders anything? These are the questions American should be looking at if we want to have a more peaceful place in the world.
Gee and here I thought, (wait, let me put it another way because I was never duped nutty or totally bias) that the world only hated America under republican presidents.
obama now has a pattern of terrorist attacks under his watch, and so does Bill and... Hillary now...
Shame on all of you. This is all reminiscent of Carter and a very weak response to a situation which requires a strong response from Obama. The American people know better and this will cost Obama the election.
