What I see coming through this man is that he has a warm, loving and caring spirit – a true gentleman. I would want someone like him as my pastor. Further, a person doesn't need a theological degree to comment with authority and truth regarding a doctinal issue. Anybody with the interest, time and access to a respestable reference library could do it – there are many who are life-long learners who could do quite well. I'm sure Joel could easily and articulately carry on an intelligent theological discourse regarding this issue if required.

I agree with the previous post. I deeply resent the term "Christian" to be used exclusively for right wing evangelicals. There are many of us who belong to mainstream Christian churches such as Episcopalian, Methodist, Lutheran, Catholic, AME others and believe in social justice and may even lean to the left.

Not sure why you would ask Joel Osteen's opinion on a Christian doctrinal question regarding mormonism. He admitted on Piers Morgan that he has no formal religious training or degree. It would be far more interesting to get the position of mainstream Christian denominations like Catholicism, Lutheran, Methodist, etc. Personally, I don't believe Mormons are Christians based on many doctrinal issues, but I wouldn't disqualify a non-Christian from the Presidency just like I didn't have an issue with Joe Lieberman running for Vice President back in 2000.
