By Wolf Blitzer, CNN
(CNN) – Even though the pundits and the headlines say Mitt Romney is only limping toward the delegates he needs, when you look at the popular vote the lines are a little more clearly drawn. The math seems to be in Romney’s favor, though none of the other candidates seem to be thinking about dropping out.
So far since Iowa and including the 10 contests of Super Tuesday, 8,257,860 Americans have voted in the Republican presidential primaries and caucuses. That’s a lot of people who have spoken.
Of those, 39% – or 3,236,421 – have gone for Mitt Romney.
Rick Santorum has come in second with 25%, or 2,080,903.
Newt Gingrich is third with 22%, or 1,818,293 votes.
And Ron Paul is fourth with 11%, or 924,935 votes.
These numbers underscore Romney’s clear plurality in the race for the party’s nomination. But those numbers are just for bragging rights.
What’s more important now is the race for delegates. As you know by now, 1,144 delegates are needed to clinch the nomination at the GOP convention in Tampa, Florida, at the end of August.
By CNN’s latest estimate, Romney has secured 429 delegates, Santorum 169, Gingrich 118 and Paul 67.
That means the race still has a long way to go.
So on to Kansas on Saturday and then Alabama, Illinois and Hawaii on Tuesday.
Let the voting continue.

Romney is not reaganesque, he is Data-esque.a0 (Star Trek Reference)a0 He apkses like he has no emotion and tries to make him self appear conservative to primary voters giving the impression of Data downloading files on how to have emotion. Why do people think he is electable?a0 He didn't run for reelection in Massachussets.a0 When he ran to the left of Ted Kennedy in 94, come election timea0he found himself in the Chappaquidicka0(figuratively speaking). With McCain endorsing him, why would any conservative republican in their right minda0vote for him?a0 That's like the kiss of death.a0 I wonder if McCain works for Obama's regime. Why are Iowa and New Hampshire always first?a0 They rarely ever vote republican.a0 Why not have the most republican states go first like Texas, Tennessee, or South Dakota go first?
Economic depression cannot be cured by legislative action or executive pronouncement. Economic wounds should be healed through the action in the cells of the economic body – the producers and consumers themselves.
The key of economic is to have some understanding that who else knows.
Newt will continue until the last moment
And then he will give his pointt to Rick, Newt will do everything that
Romney Can not win.
If you look back a month ago, you will see that I wrote
– Rick wins – and he really will win.
People do not like Romney.
No matter how much money he throws at people.
This is not Russia .... But things can happen in the elections ...
So Romney has been in the South for hardly a minute and he says he is starting to say "yall" and likes cheese grits all of the sudden....sounds like a man who will definitely tell anybody what he thinks they want to hear. Ron Paul in my opinion has been the only candidate to actually stick by his ideas but because of his age and sometimes blunt honesty about political issues puts a bad taste in most Republicans mouth.
"Stop snoring by speaking your mind first, then you cansleep in peace for the next twelve hours."
"Next Obama will be doing the 'Hula-Hoop'
"The Obama Twist! Like we did last summer! Chubby Obama???
"If you'rer not satisfied with a Judges sense of the law, then you take that Judge to court!"
"Viral???? Vie Rival???? Does this mean Only the Idiot Obama can call other's an Idiot and get away with it??
Your idiot (so called) CIC has a right to call a Police Office an Idiot, and that go Viral??? But nobody has a right to call your Idiot, An Idkiot????"
No matter how Mitt Romney tries to re brand himself he is not politically conservative. Conservatives know this due to his record and now even the moderate voter distrusts him for trying to deceive people about his own moderate record. If you try to please everyone, you can end up pleasing no one. Even with big bucks. This is what keeps Santorum and Newt as viable candidates.
LoL! I'm just waiting for the GOP nominee to debate the POTUS, one-on-one. Its going to be a bloodbath on national TV... LoL!
Majority oil imported, Canada, Mexico, Venezuela, Columbia. Big differance cost of US Oil was changed under Bush which. You Socialist better hope they drill baby drill and continue to extract every ounce of mineral wealth we have in order to be able to pay back our international debt and balance of trade. Our dollar falls any lower you may, as other nations such as Argentina. Greece, Bangladesh, have that you cannot afford to buy what we work to produce, Gasoline anybody? NOTE.... Jeb Bush part of original group that wrote PNAC PAPERS which led us into two illegal wars. 2 wars that Obama still is the only reason we keep killing the infidels the dar rights crusaders want to enlarge. OH YA, almost all natural gas used East of Miss. River comes from Canada and every wind generator needs a natural gas motor to get blades moving
Makes no real differance who GOP runs they lose, yet Obamas Executive Branch has the same policy makers since first Bush. Real political fighters are what amount to almost Dictatorial powers now held by Executive. Oil takes on average per/brl extracted 3.2 brl of water and the energy cost from 1st drill to final fuel and chemical derivatives 25 to 40 percent of amount eneqy . solar power kilowat most costly as no system yet can produce more than 18 percent effeciency and they are unrelibe, best system yet ,east coast has not been able to run more than 14 pc of 24 hr day.
The Republicans could and should just yell UNCLE and save themselves further embarrassment and millions of dollars. They should just give up and start trying to find a real Candidate for 2016.
There are going to be a lot of broken-hearted republcans this November.
I have a natural inclination to move rocks around in my yard, when they poke there heads up through the ground. I have a crow bar and it's been my experience, that if I can move a rock an inch, I can move it a few yards. I think Mitt is a rock, and Santorum has got his crow bar under him, and Rick moved Mitt an inch super Tuesday. Rick has a very sticky platform but boy can he perform. There probably isn't enough time left to win the nomination but Rick is going to gain a lot of ground in the coming weeks. Doug, Pepperell, MA
Blitzer is assuming that Romney can make the 1144. If Gingrich drops out, these delegates can go where they want...and they won't go for Romney. So the real numbers today are 429 Romney 287 Santorum with the South just starting to vote. This is a dead heat. Even if Gingrich doesn't drop out, there is a real possibility that by the time the Delegate assignment for the proportional states ends, Romney cannot get enough votes. If this happens, no delegate is assigned and they can vote for whomever they choose. The real question is, can a republican buy the presidency?
Thanks Wolf . . . now that is what I call objective reporting! Nice job!
I wonder why the major new$ media pay$ $o much attention to the big money candidate$ and almo$t no article$ about Paul'$ logical idea'$? We used to have new$...now we have propaganda. Viva Pravda!
Throw all the crooks out and vote in your local OCCUPY WALLSTREET politician to save America.
Any other vote is a vote for failure.
OCCUPY WALLSTREET NOW AND FOREVER!
To run for office you must have a permanent address. Living out of a tent in a public park does not do it. Also, there are to many socialist in the government already. One other thing. Holding pub
If office is a job. Jobs are something OWS people seem not to want.
Romney may be the one but he will skim off all the money from common people so that hard working people can never live like them. He is a tax cheat and a bully and this is from a republican. Where are the true Republicans.. i miss regan.
When will the Republican party explode into 3 different parties, the moderates, the tea party and the religous zealots. Oh, I forgot the 4th, the Ron Paul Libertarians.
The Republicans, under George Bush, blew away the Clinton surplus and ran the country financially into the ground leaving the Obama Administration with inordinate debt to pay. Now, with their destructive primaty campaign blowing hundreds of millions of campaign dollars on the primaries, where do they expect to get their Presidential Campaign Contributions from?
@aldean, you clearly don't know much about the petroleum industry. For one thing, there is currently more oil exploration going on in the US and US waters than ever in history. So to claim that Obama is somehow preventing that is simply a lie. I'm sure it's a lie that FOX News likes tp keep repeating, though. Second, as Paul Lane pointed out, oil is a limited resource and once it's gone, it's gone. This administration is encouraging as much exploration for oil and gas as is possible, but they ALSO recognize the need to start developing the next energy source for our future because one day we're gonna need it. Best if when that day comes not only have we actually found it but we have also developed technologies that allow us to exploit it without suddenly sending every American into some hell of "convert or die..." we need to wean ourselves gradually by such things as dual-fuel vehicles, multiple-source power generation stations and so forth. Don't think for a minute that Obama is standing in the way of oil production. But FYI any new oil prospect that is found does take nearly ten years to get into production, so demanding "OIL NOW" is rather foolish since this is not possible in an operational sense for any new discovery.
Am I the only one to see it, or am I the only one to shed a light on it. It’s Super Tuesday and plenty of states throughout this country have voted today.
Here’s my observation: those states that are the more liberal are giving a Mitt Romney, a Mormon, a chance.
Those states that are even more conservation/Christian aren’t taking a chance with an LDS guy, they’re going with the homophobic, anti-abortion candidate, Rick Santorum.
And if you live in Newt Gingrich’s backyard you have to vote for this guy no matter that he’s a known adulterer – it’s the “he’s one of us” mentality. Shucks, he wasn’t previously related to any of them there women.
If Romney wins the Republican nomination and runs against Barrack Obama in November, it’ll be even more interesting than the last election. Who will America vote for, an African-American with a Muslim name or an Eastern elitist who belongs to a less-than-mainstream, and some would say, non-Christian religion?
Or will the Republicans find a mainstream shining in white armor candidate and deny Romney his chances. Who could be waiting in the wings for this scenario? Could it be Jeb Bush of Florida or New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, or some really dark horse?
Or will this be the year a third party candidate emerges to challenge them both. Maybe Ron Paul wants to give it another try? He should talk to H. Ross Perot….
This could bring on the shades of the election 100 years ago when Theodore Roosevelt no longer supported his chosen successor, President William Howard Taft, and ran as the Bull Moose candidate. And although Roosevelt came in second, the highest showing of a third party candidate in U.S. presidential election history, he split the Republican Party and ended up giving the election to the Democrat, Woodrow Wilson. It became the worst placement of a sitting president ever. But Taft really wasn’t too disappointed; he really wanted to serve on the Supreme Court and got his wish just a few years later.
Time will tell. Either that or the Mayans were right.
"These numbers underscore Romney’s clear plurality. . ."
The key word is "plurarity", which is not the majority. Had either Santorum or, more likely, Gingrich, dropped out and most of the voters went to the other candidate, the race would've been close. As for delegate count, Romney does have the majority. We'll see.
When it all shakes out, Wolf, the popular vote doesn't count – delegates do. Popular vote won't count in the general election either. I enjoy speculative fiction as much as the next person, but let's get back to reality.
The earth makes oil everyday it is a renewable resource.
President Obama sincerely cares about the long term future of our wonderful country. He is so very smart and polished. He has not abandoned his goal to listen to all points of view as our President. What I admire so much about Pres Obama is that he doesn't say he has all the answers but will try to find a good solution; he makes mistakes and acknowledges them and then improves and adds the result to his already tremendous knowledge base. He effectively addresses short term and long term goals. He cares not only about us but about your grandchildren and great grandchildren. We are so lucky to have such a forward looking President who is knocking himself out to do what is best for ALL of us.
Thank you Ekindperson – your said that very well!
Sure Obama cares... why he said that he would maybe buy a chevy Volt electric car after he retires from the presidency. Oh, thats right he has limo's and jet sets around in Airforce One... if he really cared he would buy one now since he is pushing these on the American public.
Wolf,a
Please, please stop talking about these two parties. There are more candidates and parties and primaries than just the Republican Primary. No one talks about the Libertarians, or any other parties! We need to give these voices a voice, even though a lot of us may not like them, they have the right to be heard and let the people decide on them. Just hearing two candidates in the end from two money making powerhouse parties is not fair to the other candidates, it isnt right, and not what America should be about. When Abe Lincoln ran, he was able to stump and get known. We can't do that without you in media anymore, and it should not be a for profit business to get heard.
Keep the Oil at Home, and our prices will be $2.00 at the pump, wake up!! I now see politicians have no clue, they hide behind there desks, and do what they want.
Perhaps, Robert, tell that the oil-companies. They will always sell to the highest bidder! The solution lays in reducing oil-consumption and replace it with “all of the above”!
Romney is playing Obama's old card. Obama was the person of favor from people I knew because his campaign was less attacks and backstabbing than others. The negative campaign crap doesn't go well with folks I know as it just looks like a bunch of children saying "well he did this, and he said that, but 'I' did this!", just to get the cookie. Granted Romney is playing the negative campaign too. I don't care for Romney, but at least I see what game he's playing to get votes. IMO, all the GOP candidates are a joke. And that's coming from an independent.
Romney has received 39% of the votes from Republican voters. That means 61% of Republicans don't like him enough to vote for him, and that's just the bunch that actually cared enough to vote in the first place. Obama probably will win a second term, just because of what the Republicans are doing to themselves, and how they feel about their own candidates. The chances of the GOP suddenly supporting Romney are slim to none, and that means apathy from the Republican electorate on election day. First and foremost – They've got noone to blame but themselves.
"So really what you're saying is, 1144 is 51% of the total GOP Delegates; and there is around 2,448. So confusing your election, maybe thats also out of date?"
Here's what else the numbers tell us: 47% of the Republican voters prefer the ultra-conservative Santorum/Gingrich, compared to the 39% that voted for Mitt. Presumably, if Newt drops out, most of these voters would probably prefer Rick. That doesn't make Mitt look like a very strong candidate. What will these voters (not to mention the 11% Paul voters) do if Mitt becomes the candidate?
.. doing it the right way?? That doesn't even make sense unless Paw has emocbe governor of Mass while everyone was looking away. What one governor does for HIS state cannot be compared to what another governor does for HIS state. Each state has its own constituencies and needs .. what's right for one is not right for another. This is just another example of why Paw is not ready for primetime .. another reason is that shooting poison arrows at someone's back when you can't even defend your words to their face is very unbecoming for someone who wants to be President. Just makes you want to see the person get a real good smackdown, whether you care for Romney or not. Paw should go back under his rock.
I have two hopes. One is that the election is held on chesdule, and the other is that we get a change of President.I shudder to think of the "buy me" loyalties and principles of the Newt and the Mitt'n. But the proven "I bought *my* seat, nyah, nyah" prospect of not changing Presidents makes me hope and dream that the Democrats will draft Hillary to head the ticket in 2012. I would prefer almost anything to the two uber-RINO's or another four years of Constitutional decay. And please amend Obama's Hate Crimes bill, striking "protected class" and making it a crime for anyone to prey on anyone for their orientation or race. Gack.
The real story of that popular vote count would seem to be that 61% are saying "not Romney". If you just add Gingrich to Santorum you still have 47% to Romney's 39%. I actually am quite surprised by this; I knew people didn't like Romney but I didn't think they didn't like him this much.
Al Gore: 50,999,897 votes.
George W. Bush: 50,456,002 votes.
Winner: Not the one with the most votes.
To Jim Thomas: hahahahahahahahaha! The man who has never won a single caucus or state(in three attempts) is somehow going to win the GOP primary and then defeat President Obama? hahahahahahahahahahahaha! Thanks for the laugh!
Santorum reminds me of the guy pushing for burning of Witches back in Old Salem.... can’t you just picture him in his black clothing, pointy hat, gleefully leering and striking the match…..
The Press simply refuses to say anything good about Romney...they are trying so hard to make sure he is defeated and Santorum the Rep nominee – Obama would set a record of votes against Santorum.
I pray voters are more savvy and smarter than the main-stream media and Dems think we are....
Cars run on gasoline! Not wind or fungus or even solar for that matter! This president is killing our country with his wack ideas about energy all so he can get the enviro-nuts vote! Ron Paul is my man but if I believe that Romney will let us drill for our own oil and give Americans jobs then I will vote for him. Obamacare: Unconstitutional. More stupid entitlements (contraception) wrong! This guy has GOT TO GO! No more wars! Listen to Ron Paul for God's sake!
Steve, I feel sorry for you. Apparently you missed major developments in the world and that one has to take reality into account when planning the future. Just wanting to have everything stay the way it is does not mean it is going to happen. Please, go back to the drawing board and educate yourself before you waste your vote!
The "weakness" of Romney is more a factor of the changed rules for allocating delegates this time around. Now that most states award delegates proportionally, it takes longer to get to the final candidate. That's how it was designed, but so many of the reports are comparing 2008 (and earlier elections) to 2012 but glossing over this fact.
If you applied 2008 delegate allocation rules to today, he would be thumping all the other candidates – he's already doing better than McCain did in 2008 after this many primaries, even in McCain's own Arizona. Compared to earlier elections, he's actually doing quite well. It's only because we've moved away from winner-takes-all in most states that it makes the process take so long now.
People are all gushing about how he can't "seal the deal" or whatever, but comparing 2012 to earlier elections is apples and oranges, folks!
(and no, I'm not a Romney fan, just pointing out what should be the obvious 🙂 )
The reason I am for Mitt Romney is we don't need just a Conservative. We need an intelligent person with business experience and political experience. We need someone with good moral character and who is a good family man and especially a good husband and father. I want to see the citizens of America to be proud of our country again and most of all to get along. There is always going to be a difference of opinion but I think will communicate with the Democrats much better than Obama communicates with Republicans.
Carl, I appreciate your good intentions and wishing for all to get along in the search for good solutions and compromise. However, it surprises how you then can come to the conclusion that the GOP/TP (party and candidates) are willing or have the means to that end if you have followed their “work” over the last years? Do you have a deaf ear to all they have said and done alone about themselves, not to mention their outrages statements about the President? If you still think they have “good moral character…” you have either an assessment problem or you do not want to see reality!
All these experts on CNN keep saying Romney can't do well in south. That only apply's in the Primary. In the general he will sweep the south. The thing that scares the libs on CNN is that he can win states like Ohio, Mich, Maine ,New Hamp, Penn.Va, Missouri. Minn
I want to know where these Republican candidates stand on Joseph Kony. #spreadtheword
The big question is: What percentage are the 8,257,860 who voted, of the people who could have voted. My guess is that it's less than half. That alone should tell us something.
Wolf:
Will you please tell Ms. Brazel ? to refrain from making faces and rolloing her eyes when she is on slipscreen with other speakers. She is just becoming distracting this is the third day in a row she has done this and it is so unprofessional.
Thanks
Lol! I agree–it is so annoying!
Give us a break!! Ms. Brazile is not the only pundit who make faces on split screen- all of them do. BTW, if you notice- many of them cut across the other person while they are speaking. These people are expected to conduct spirited debates on camera, including facial expressions. It is intended to engage their audience. Please lighten up.. will you?
The Republicans don't have a strong candidate. President Obama will run rings around any one of these guys. He is doing a spectular job undoing the mess the last administration handed to him. He's a great man, wonderful president and I'm proud of his administration's accomplishments. I just wish he had more support from Congress. I plan to vote appropriately so he gets the support. We need our capitalism and socialism policies to combine into some sort of hybrid democratic government. We will never survive as a purely capitalistic society. Republicans need to come out of the dark ages.
I'll say one thing for your man Obama–it is amazing that people can still be singing love songs to him like this one you just wrote. He really did a good job of brainwashing you all four years ago. Amazing that his drones can still be so blinded as to not see his failures. He promised Hope and Change. And we got nothing but a huge debt in return that our kids and grandkids will be paying for for a long time.
I'm sure you really believe what you are saying about blending capitalism and socialism, but if you look at the premise of each they are by nature incompatible systems.
With all its faults capitalism has built the freest and wealthiest society the world has ever known. On the other hand socialism requires the individual to surrender freedoms and invariable fails to deliver economic prosperity except for the privileged few who run the system.
Nicely said. We need a combination of the two. If the rich get capitalism, the poor that live in the country that they operate in get socialist programs... and we should get FREE health care.
They won't come out of the dark ages...they're getting rich(er) milking the economy and the taxpayers for all they're worth.
Sure he has Val. Except not BO or anybody else in his "administration" can explain exactly how his stimulus bill worked or created or even saved jobs. Also nobody I have talked to is in better shape financially. Like you, a standard liberal, he blames everyone else. Well he has had plenty of time ot turn around Bush's "mess" and his mess is a lot worse so guess what? Like any CEO who gets hired to turnaround a company and fails miserably, he gets fired. Obama is going to lose in a landslide Val.
I just saw a local report on the news while channel surfing about Newt Gingrich in talks with Santorum and Paul. They said The ticket would be either Gingrich/Santorum or Santorum/Gingrich with Paul as Secretary of State.
Well said Valerie!
I think if Republicans are so dead set against government assistance, then I think all Republicans who are drawing SOCIAL Security should give up their benefits. It could be used to help decrease the deficit they claim to be so upset about.
buy a clue, do you ubderstand any basic economics. what has he done, spend money we don't have (i'm not defending bush, he cetainly did that also). let the nanny state commence!
When the candidate is chosen and they stop going after each other and the winner focuses on Obama full time the real campaign (and fun) will start. Obama got a pass big time in 2008 from the media, not going to happen this time. It's going to be entertaining...
Valerie, I see quite a few comments here that disagree with you.
But exactly these people are the problem. They are stuck in the way it was and still think whatever the GOP has told and sold them over decades as something that would be to their benefit. They do not want to examine what is happening in this country or for that matter what is happening in the world! They close their eyes (and brains) to the crumbling infrastructure, outdated education system, wasted human resources, inefficient and ruthless healthcare structure, the lack of renewable resource development, outrages “defense” spending that hampers all investments in the rebuilding of a plundered county; still dream of the US as “the greatest country on earth”! They do not even notice who robbed them! To think and analyze takes guts, and effort – and why should they want to do that when the GOP tells them what to think for decades? I would like to say, it would be great to do the thinking for yourself and the future of the country! Than you could move forward too!
We do not need energy that is going to take 50 to 100 years down the road !!!!! We need something NOW. OIL!!!
Oil is very handy and will immediately put some people back to work !!! This president does nothing but DREAM????
DREAMING doesn't put people to work. IR COSTS MONEY !!!!!!!!!!!! We would be better off the ask this president
to step down PLUS his so-called cabinet...Why are we shipping OUR oil across the pond to Europe????? AND
we pay a higher price????? WHY??????
You obvoiusly are not thinking about the future of this country. We need other energy sources. Oil is a non renewable resource, when it's gone, it's gone. we have to develop other resources now- not later. If we wait until the oil is gone before we start then it will be to late for our country.
There is plenty of oil to last until our Lord and Savior returns to this Earth for his believers. I do agree we need other energy sources but, we are definitely not running out any time soon. Or nat gas for that matter. We shouldn't look for other sources under falsely raised gas prices with extra taxes and expenses from so many regulations.
You forget about coal. If we run out of oil, or if the price reaches a level such that coal would be less expensive, then coal will replace oil. Fortunately we are a very coal-rich country and probably have enough to last hundreds of years. Yes, we need to use other forms of energy, but keep in mind economics is what drives it. Wind, solar, etc. are all great ideas but very expensive in comparison, at least for now.
We have 30-50 years before oil dries up including untapped sources. Everything from gas and plastics is made from oil. Starting to see a bigger picture yet?
"Why are we shipping OUR oil across the pond to Europe????? AND we pay a higher price????? WHY??????"
I would like to personally welcome you to capitalism! What alternative do you want? Are you some kind of communist?
Lik emost of the haters, you have no idea what you are talking about. Oil production is at an all time HIgh in the US. Each year of thie presidents administration has produced more oil than any year of the last administrations 8 years. We have quadrupled the number of wells and we have more wells operation in the US than the rest of the world combined. The drill baby dril crowd Lied to you about the solutions. You should read a little in the subject before makeing such progfoundly unedjucated statements.
"Why are we shipping OUR oil across the pond to Europe????? "
Who is "we"? The government/president does not ship oil across the pond because the government/president doesn't own oil companies. Your problem should be with the oil companies. You know, the ones funding so much of the Republican Party's campaigns.
Even if he opens up every single location for drilling, it is not going to make a difference in the amount of oil nor the price of oil. What it will guarantee is one of those locations will someday cause a huge disaster, (et. spill or explosion), and further ruin this country. Oh yeah, you loser repubs dont give squat about the invironment!
Necessity is the mother of invention. If you eliminate oil as an option (which is not what Obama has done or any sane person would do) an alternative becomes a necessity, the rest of the discussion is a matter of degrees......
WE are not shipping OUR oil overseas. The OIL companies are shipping THEIR oil to the highest bidder. Exactly what that Keystone pipeline would also do.
We, the people, don't own the oil that the oil companies pull out of US soil.
Any gas that is drilled in the USA is exported. It is not used here is the US.
2nd – WHY would oil companies reduce prices because they got the oil here instead of overseas? They would not lower the gas prices one cent. They currently make profits in the $100 billion + range.
3rd our gas prices have to do with Shady Wall Street investors NOT where the oil was drilled.
You "Drill Baby Drill" people are as ignorant as they come. Try reading or listen to something other than Fox.
Aldean, the untapped oil reserve in the US – including Alaska and off-shore sources – amounts to only 16% in the world, compared to 56% in the Middle East. As long as we rely on oil as our main energy source, we will run dry long before anyone else. Only very short-sighted people (and oil company executives) believe we can drill our way out of the energy shortage.
Oil is very handy and will immediately put some people back to work.
^ Didn't you have an oil company Presidency via W Bush, Dick Cheney and Haliburton for nearly 10 years?
Didn't the US become more dependent than ever on oil, and imported oil during this time?
Didn't the price of oil reach and ALL TIME HIGH under W/Cheney/Haliburon??
Don't the oil companies make MORE MONEY when this happens?
____________________________________________________________
Why are you advocating via Romney, the same polices that failed under Bush/Cheney?
Do you think we are all stupid?
Ron Paul is still the one.He is the only one with the experience, brains and a cool level head. The others are just a smigon above obama who is the worse pres. ever.Anybody who votes for obama deserves what they get, which will not be good.Jim Thomas Phx.Az.
Ron Paul is a lifelong John Birch Society supporter and a reactionary masquerading in populist clothing.
Ron Paul definately has good ideas. He might be the only Republican that I would consider voting for. However, his foreign policy is Isolationism. That did not work at the turn of the century and will certainly not work now. Disbanding the Fed? We can't get a fair Tax Code due to special interests, how would the Fed be disbanded, and then what? I am also troubled by the racism issue. It was his publication, he is ultimately responsible.
Ron Paul is the ONLY candidate the R's have. The Whamway salesman, the American Taliban, and the 'Mad politician want to get us into another war...profit for the war machines ...and drill baby drill until our water tastes like 3 in 1 oil. We cannot continue to borrow from China to give it to other countries...WE'RE BROKE! Let a few other countries support the world police business. I'm surprised that we're not beheading or gas chambering Americans. We are becoming Nazi Germany. Guess this is what the Evangelical Jesus would have wanted? Our Veterans must be spinning in their graves.
Does the large turnout have to do with people interested in getting the best candidate for the country and to beat the president or does it have to do with keeping the ultra conservatives away?
Obama won more votes than Romney, in Ohio, even though there is no real reason for dems to turn up and vote for him.
I beg to differ; they are many excellent reasons to vote for the President! Looking at the GOP/TP lineup, hundreds of reasons to not even consider them!
