(CNN) – We are about to see a sizeable transfer of wealth in the United States.
I’m talking about hundreds of millions of dollars pouring into a few states.
The main winners in those states will be local television stations. Here’s a tip: It might be a good time to buy some stock in the companies that own those television stations.
That’s because once the Republicans select their presidential nominee, the real battle for the White House will begin.
What we’ve seen so far will be child’s play compared to what is about to happen in the general election battle.
President Obama and his supporters, including the super PACs, will be spending hundreds of millions of dollars in television advertising. Much of it will contain positive images of the president. But probably a lot more will attack his opponent.
The Republicans and their super PACs will do the same thing.
Let’s not be under any illusions. It will be very nasty.
I’ve been checking in recent days with top Democratic insiders and they continue to assume that President Obama will face Mitt Romney in November. They are watching the Republican race for the White House with intense interest. They see the ups and downs for Romney but they continue to believe he will eventually win the nomination.
Like so many others, these Obama supporters believe that Romney has the best organization among the GOP candidates; they also know he has the most money.
I think it’s also fair to say that the Obama forces fear Romney the most. That’s why they have geared up virtually all their attacks on him, hoping to weaken him down the road.
They know the eventual battle for 270 votes in the Electoral College will focus on several battleground states where they believe Romney would represent a much more formidable challenger than Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum or Ron Paul.
So, get ready for lots of money to change hands. Much of that money will wind up in Ohio, Florida, Michigan, Virginia, North Carolina, Colorado, Pennsylvania and a few other potential battleground states.
Let the transfer of wealth begin.

Nice post! I love your blog

see media matters, main stream media in bed at the direction of the obama administration. report this, but don't report that. cover up this, blame the republicans for that. all a big lie. can't trust any the main stream media at all. gloria borger was called a water toter. she tried to deny, but it was in vain. the joke used to be, you can't trust anything you read on the internet, now it's cable news too.
Thanks for the tip on the television stations.
President O'bama hopes Romney is the Republican nominee because the President is prepared to run against him. Romney is the perfect candidate for his tax the 1% elite millionaire campaign strategy. Wait, now it is the top 3 percent. Let's not vote for the candidate that has the only workable tax and energy plans. Let's not vote for the candidate that has set and achieved goals for the advancement of conservatism. Let's not vote for the candidate that can actually beat President O'bama. Of course, CNN already knows the importance of Romney being the nominee and has went out of their way to make sure he wins. Based on the results and polls to date, the Republican Party must think your reporting is somehow not biased. The idea that the media represents the American people no longer exists.
So much money is thrown here.
I do think that Romney will be the candidate
I think that Rick Santorum will be the Republican candidate for president
People do not like Romney, is not stable, is not reliable, it is cold man
Republican do not want it themselves .... Rick will win the Romanian.
And none of them are going to beat Obama.
Obama flip flop on contraceptives issues. He's a big problem for conservative base and all women.
i think mitt should stick to buying companys suck all the profit out of them then bankrupt them and go down to the cayman islands and count your money–the new mafia
the best goverment the rich can buy–for the rich by the rich-domocracy right
I was just wondering since all the candidates keep talking about cut spending( where will be cut? what else can be cut now???) spring board for the very poor.( what is the plan to stimulus the economy? if the very poor cant get a job where will they spring to?) colonize the moon( with what? we are deep in debt, economy is not recover yet where will we find the money to put in research for nasa?) I wonder when they will be realize MONEY is our problem and come up with a plan then compare to see which one is more doable. I am not a pro Obama if not saying I dont really like him but he's showing us his plans and some works. On top of that we can't just blame everything on him. Our government is not a one man band. We need to renew congress and limit the term on senators and reps to bring in new ideas, new people who willing to work for the country. Who put their country needs before personal issues and lessen the corruption.
Why in the the world does CNN not ask Santorum for his taxes??? I have watched Fox for 10 years and will do it NO MORE. Their free propaganda machine for the most amoral politicians of our generation – Gingrich and Santorum – and their blatant attacks and destruction policy regarding Mitt Romney have made me a permanent CNN viewer. I don't ever watch the Faux (Fox) News Station anymore.
I agree I will not watch Fox news anymore. CNN is the same but I tune with them until they come back with their bias reports. Can someone ask Santorum for his TAXES? he speaks about other issues , just distraction. We need hus taxes and his record as so called conservative.
I read in the news that Bank of America sold a building in Atlanta for 250 million, which is half of what it paid for it. Another report I read said BOA is selling their main building in Boston too. Yet , the conglomoration of special interest groups think its a good investment to hand out billions to their favorite Presidential Candidate. In many cases these same entities give equal amounts to both candidates. Even Lewis Carroll would be bewildered by this current state of affairs.
May the force be with President Obama, the GOP candidate who ever he is going to be, will go against the people by cutting Social Security, Medicare and giving the Rich lower taxes and allow then to drain this country of it industry to make the rich richer
.
I am a catholic and I think the Catholic Church should not force their beliefs in politics, they can not control their Owen child molesting priest!
What in the world are you talking about? Go back and look at what you said and then switch the two candiates names. It's obama who has cost this country 2.5 million jobs after squandering 1 trillion dollars on a failed stimulus program. It;s Obama who wants to impose abortion on faith based organizations. It's Obama who has sold this country down the river by spending more money in 4 years than the last two presidents combined. And it's Obama with his Obamacare who plans to strip medicaid, medicare and force everyone into his government takeover of health care. He has already stolen money from medicare to help cover the losses his progam has encountered and his program isn't even fully implemented yet.
It will be a battle of True Christains vs. Mormanism.
Anyone stupid enough to be influenced by advertisements, should not be voting. As a resident of Florida, I dread the upcoming television ads. It's going to be nonstop filth, lies, and empty promises slung around by evil men in sharp-looking suits. It is a disgusting spectacle and when are Americans going to realize that it is no way to conduct the business of choosing a leader.
What does bc have to do with campaign money? If Romney wins, it will be a non issue anyway. Lol
We have a choice of a guy who believes so much in America that he hides his money in Switzerland and the Cayman Islands, one who believes in family values and cheated on his last two wives, one who is a religious fanatic who seems more concerned with religious issues and promoting bridges to nowhere than dealing with more important matters, and the only guy with a brain"Ron Paul" who doesn't seem to have a chance. What's a Republican to do? Vote for the only sane and honest guy of all. Barack Obama.
Does anything matter now that we allow Super PAC's??? The candidate with the most "bucks" usually wins. Now it will be the candidate chosen by the biggest Super PAC that will win,.... why vote? And you thought the "Prince" was bad. I bow before superior corruption. And don't worry that 2.5 earthquake in Virginia wasn't what you thought, it was our founding fathers just rolling over.
The reality is that probably 90% of the people have already made up their mind to vote for their party. This huge sum of money will be spent for the 10% that will determine the election. The Dems probably have more small donors but the Republicans have the super rich. Who says the 1% can't determine an election thanks to the supreme court.
Unlimited Super-PAC money flowing with no requirement to document sources.
I cannot think of a better way to corrupt a democracy.
.
The problem, as I see it, is this: we will face thousands of hours of negative ads, bashing our confidence until one side loses enough votes to give victory to the other side... then what? The American populace will be upset with the winner, because the negativity doesn't vanish. We will get a president we hate - at least a substantial portion will hate.
In the desperate race to win, both candidates lose the ability to form successful, bipartisan governments. I realize neither can simply decide to NOT run negative ads - at least not if they want to win - but the net effect is disastrous. Maybe we should outlaw negative ads?
"Could blog of yours today, be the reallity of Obama's sudden job rise? A minimum-wage for hundreads of kids, spreading all those leaflets, and royalties for small-time media use throughout neighborhoods in an election year?"
One thing I like about President Obama is that he actually IS a nice guy; So nice that he might be taken for a punk (no gender bias intended). Those D tea baggin repubs are a nasty bunch. Sometimes you have to get down in the dirt with folk and be as nasty as they are to Kick butt. I'm giving money to a super pac and donating to Obama's campaign because it looks like he finally getting some real back bone. Don't get me wrong; I like gentlemen, but some of these folk need a good old fashoined A kicking.
Dan, 77It is significantly more wusine to take someone who has displayed no particular wisdom, or any qualification other than the ability to give a nice speech, and give them the presidency.i am just hoping that most of the ethnic studies students and their ilk, who handed Obama the nomination, will have found some particularly good weed on November 3rd and forget why the happened to leave the house on the morning of the 4th, that or be distracted by a fluttering Wal-mart bag floating through downtown Madison (damn townies, they should just stay home and watch Jerry Springer). it is pretty obvious today that, if the Democrats had any wisdom at all, they would have nominated Hillary Clinton. That lady deserves the highest honor the RNC can issue. As a matter of fact I think I am going to send $10 to her campaign debt retirement fund and go home to feel particularly good about myself this evening. Today I will be an honorary Puma. I heart Monica Lewinsky, soon to be the butterfly-effect-savior of western culture.
Don't care. I'm voting for Obama and contributing to him..
Go Obama. Anybody who has any sense has to go for him. Without elaborating, the chance of a republican winning is the same as a teapartier turning liberal...
This is a no win either way-–the corruption is of a magnitude that the common man cannot even fathom !!!!!! The powers that be are much bigger than either party. We are being primed and forced propaganda for a ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT !!!!!!! WE THE SHEEPLE
I do not think the Catholic Church should force their beliefs on other religions. Look at all the 3rd world countries that need birth control & do not get it because of their faith.
What the H*** are you talking about? Don't you mean Islam? They are the one's trying to force their religion down people's throats and if you don't comply they'll just kill ya.
Why are the men getting so upset about womans birth control. Men have been getting copayment on Viagra for years and this was okay. Men aren't the ones giving birth, it's now the women with the voice now. We have a voice to vote, to choose to work or become pregnant. It's our choice to refuse to be pregnant if raped and this our choice, It's not a mans choice at all!!!!
Let freedom sing, sing it girl !! Amen
