Wolf Blitzer delivers the most important breaking news and political, international, and national security stories of the day. Tune to The Situation Room weekdays 5-7pm ET on CNN.
CNN's Gloria Borger speaks with Iowa's governor about why the state is important and what would happen if Ron Paul wins.
RELATED: Cafferty: What will happen to the Republican field if Ron Paul wins the Iowa caucuses?
This is nothing more the CNN exercising its special powers to bring down a candidate that does not comply with their agenda and set the path for their pick to win the GOP. It shows that the electore can brag yes but we have our vote, it is meaningles if the candidates are pretermined ,, or better yet screened and approved by CNN first.
Dear Mr. Blitzer and Ms. Borgen,
I was pointed to this piece and ask to observe the "journalism" by CNN. Shame on Gloria Borgen, Wolf Blitzer, and all of mainstream media for this poor GOP candidate coverage. Our country, born out of the Revolution and protected by the Constitution, is facing imminent issues regarding our out-of-control Big Government spending, excessive Federal Reserve policies, devaluation of the US dollar, and stripping of our civil liberties. These are more important to America's future then all the polarizing questions that mainstream media narrows in on. It used to be your sacred responsibility to educate and inform citizens. To spend your time hearing, analyzing, and objectively debating all the candidates' stances for such issues. And if you ever did you would find out, like so many citizens who now use the internet to do their own investigating, that Ron Paul has solutions that are viable and different than any other candidate. In addition, he's been consistent for over 30 years, even when his views weren't "politically favorable". His voting records are found online, his c-span videos are on youtube, and his platform is on his website. And many American citizens, from both parties, love what they're learning about him online. Ron Paul stands for truth, principle, and the interests of the American People. Mainstream journalism has sacrificed all these for cheap ratings.
Though the question of moral character is important, it should show through the policies which are brought forth to the American People. Yes, you should continue vetting their private lives if it will affect imminent public policies (Newt making millions from Fanny & Freddie during the housing bubble). But stop covering so much of politician's private lives (Hermain Cain's sexual life is alarming, but will it affect my family's income? NO! His 9-9-9 plan is what could have affected the economy. So teach America about it). Stop asking Ron Paul over and over again about newsletters from 20 years ago that he didn't write or read because he was busy delivering babies as a practicing OB/GYN. So PLEASE, pledge to spend the limited soundbites on questions that can directly educate Americans enough to make an informed vote on pressing issues like Economic & Foreign Policy. Stand for principled journalism, even if your CNN bosses fire you for it. Frankly we all, especially American Youth, are sick of your ineffectiveness.
Will Gloria Borger then call Ron Paul the anti-establishment vote ? That's the part of questionable media bias that botheres me in her interview and the coverage. They are not showing the part where Gloria Borger coments Ron Paul is the anti-establishment vote for the American citizens of Iowa. Why does Gloria Borger make such an inference ? Is it because she's a strong democratic supporter ? Is it beacause Paul is winning ? Let the voices of the people for Ron Paul be heard ! Ron Paul had nothing to do or did he authorize the comments written 20 years ago. Detect a touch of media bias ....red alert Paul's team ! I don't believe Congressman Paul is a racist or believes in these comments and answered many times clearly the questions concerning. Will Gloria Borger's husband's firm still be around if Ron Paul is elected President ?
Gloria, just because you don't like his answer, doesn't mean you should keep asking the same question. He answered you, just because it doesn't make sense to you isn't his fault. Now why don't you go and try to find more dirt since you won't be happy until you can say "A-HA GOT YA"
You know why you are bringing up 20 year old "news", because that's all you got baby!
All of the canidates have good and bad points but I see Ron Paul leading the pack and I do believe he needs a good military person with him.We need to get our great country back as No.1 in the world but we have to quit wasting money on stupid wars.If we are not going to try and win with our great military then get out.Jim Thomas Phx.Az.
What is Gloria What Ever Her Name Is trying to prove with Ron Paul. She has more that her 15 minutes in the sun. Now is time for her to go home and clean her house instead of hiring immingrant housekeepers.
I am a Pure Political Independent who is backing no body for President. Want a line on the ballot: None Of The Above.
I'm sorry, Gloria and Wolf with this take on Ron Paul's position in this interview and the current interview that Gloria did today trying to again smear him shows some bias. Do they interview Romney and ask him about all of the ugly things that Bain Capital did, and if they did.. do they continually ask the same question over and over again? Same for Newt and others. Does CNN truly want to alienate the 28% of the primary electorate in Iowa and sell the story that their voice doesn't matter? This is a dangerous game the media is trying to play here.
I think Ron Paul would make a great president... It's like the media is scared to or told to not to bring him up.Isi because you can't find any dirt on him... Out of all the ones who are running are back stabbing each other in the back. and not once have I heard Ron Paul cut any of them down. Paul has great issue to get this country back to how it was easier to live. I FEEL NOT ENOUGH ATTENTION..... OBAMA he is the one who got us in this mess. paul is a peaceful person and has great morals
Iraq is now questionably coming unglued and how many trillions did the US spend ? McCain's not happy about it and expresses his concerns in a recent interview with Mr.Blitizer yesterday. What is Ron Paul's take on Iraq ? Ron Paul...The All American Approach to get the job done.
Ron Paul has been the one for a year yelling the truth none of us wanted to hear. "The country is broke." No doubt and the Democrats and Republicans can't come to terms over tax increases ? How many millions of Americans are on food stamps in this economic nightmare ? Politicians work for the people and let's go 4 years and no tax increases. What's their two month agreement vs a year all about ? Get our jobs back in the USA ! Get Bachmann on Tax Reform and let Donald Trump neg.with China ! Find the people in leadership reguardless of party line that can get the job done. All this Republican and Democratic party is a bit over the top not working. 1 out of 45 kids is homeless in the US and you know we've hit rock bottom when ya hear Congress and Obama Ok's the slaughter of horses for human consumption in an economic depression. We're broke but not eating our pets in America. Go Ron Paul and good luck !
As head of Americans for Tax Reform since 1986, Grover Norquist has transformed a single issue – preventing tax hikes – into one of the key platforms of the Republican Party. As Steve Kroft reports, his biggest coup was getting more than 270 members of Congress, and nearly all of the 2012 Republican presidential primary candidates, to sign a pledge promising never to vote to raise taxes. But some opponents say the pledge may be hindering a solution to America's debt crisis.
-Why don't you ask Norquist about the republican's tax hike and does it violate their pledge to get campaign money?
The rest of the world will breath easier because the day that America not being a military tool for Oil companies comes one more step closer to being real.
Why should Ron Paul ahead surprise us. The Republican party is completely dysfunctional and out of touch with the real domestic and global issues – No Republican candidate is Presidential material – everyone flip-flops, no one has personal convictions and some of them are just pushing books and speeches
