(CNN) – Republican Sen. John McCain of Arizona said Tuesday the battle on Capitol Hill between Democrats and Republicans over extending the payroll tax cut was causing damage to the GOP.
"It is harming the Republican Party," McCain said on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer." "It is harming the view, if it's possible anymore, of the American people about Congress. And we've got to get this thing resolved."

why is every-one at CNN avoiding saying that the plan approved by the house contains a poison pill about the oil pipeline which has nothing to do with taxes.

I thought Wolff was trying to pretend he was a reporter for Fox News interviewing John Mc Cain today. His set up questions to Mc Cain about Hillary's Clinton's comments about Korea were really lame. Mrs. Clinton's comments focused on the status of the people of N. Korea, who have suffered so much, not an statement of condolence about the death of their dictator. Of course Mc Cain, who is still bitter he lost to Obama, jumped on Wolff's soft ball statement and accused Mrs. Clinton of things she didn't say in her statement.
If you listen to Wolff's comments regarding Iraq, you would think that Iraq was already involved in a all out civil war. Of course Mc Cain jumped on that and blamed Obama for that.
Did Wolff ever think to ask Mc Cain how long would he have kept troops in Iraq? Probably as long as he could. Would Mc Cain ever say that we should ever withdraw ?
Once in a while everyone is right – this time McCain is right.
I didn't know McCain was smart enough to realize that. Live and learn.
