BLITZER’S BLOG: Cain keeping his head up despite controversy

By CNN’s Wolf Blitzer

Washington (CNN) - I saw Herman Cain briefly today in the CNN Washington bureau. He had just wrapped up a lengthy interview with HLN’s Robin Meade.

The Republican presidential candidate appeared to be in a good mood despite all the uproar over allegations that he sexually harassed two women in the 1990s when he was head of the National Restaurant Association in Washington. He had answered all of Robin’s blunt questions, clearly eager to move on.

When I escorted him to the elevator, he was all smiles and could not have been nicer. Having met him on earlier occasions, I was not surprised. He is a very friendly person with an engaging personality.

He insisted the story has not hurt his campaign, noting that he raised lots of money Monday online. He said his supporters are with him.

He is doing remarkably well in all the national and state public opinion polls.

“I absolutely believe this is an intended smear campaign,” he told Robin. “It’s a smear campaign.”

But when she pressed, he said he had “no idea” who was behind it.

“When they cannot kill my ideas like 9-9-9, they come after me personally,” he continued.

“Obviously, someone is encouraging them to bring it up now because I’m doing so well in this Republican nomination,” he said. “That’s all I would say. Why are you bringing it up now? Secondly, are you being used to try and help paint a cloud and help sabotage my candidacy? That’s all I would say.”

In dealing with this story, Cain and his campaign have made serious mistakes. They should have had a game plan ready to go immediately after Politico reporters notified them of their story. Instead, there has been a drip, drip, drip of occasionally contradictory details emerging, many of which Cain is personally responsible for, and that has hurt him.

Having covered these kinds of stories over the years, I think he can recover. But he needs to get all the facts out quickly and efficiently. He can’t allow his story to keep on evolving.

"Baby Work Out" Jackie Wilson ! My ,My ,My with an American pie made with sleezie, cheesie, nasty, politics to box up and take a lie detector cause the smoke gets in your eye.Isn't it amazing, how out of the blue pops David Axelrod's name connected to Cain's accuser Sharon Bialek. The gym ? She sees him in the gym and they lived in the same Chicago building."Round And Round We Go" "Twistin the night away as Cain yells " stop doggin me around." Seriously, Cain says,"I don't even know who this woman is." Cain's wife Gloria says it doesn't sound like anything he'd do and she's known him 40 some years. Have Sharon Bialek take a lie detector and what are the odds ,she happens to be an accuser in all this and lived in the same building as David Axlrod who was Obama's former Senior advisor. Oh yes and now we're to believe Cain put his hand up her skirt ? No ! I don't believe Sharon Bialek or anyone in this mess and everybody take a lie detector and why isn't the National Media asking David Axelrod if he knows who Sharon Bialek is ? Karen 's now the next accuser up to the plate and she is remembered by Cain as having baseless accuations that did not go to court after legal review but was paid money. Sleezie,Cheesie,Dirtball Mean,Nasty Politics....."Baby Work Out " and they see each other in the gym ? No, don't believe Sharon Bialek's son works for Politico either. Leave the kids out of this ! Look out folks and the record on truth is skipping cracked and loose. Watch as the facts unfold and no evidence yet to determine true or false. Hearsay and gossip should never destroy anyones reputation and refuse to make a decision until more evidence and facts are in ! What's going on with Cain's charity and the FEC $ ? Release the documents at the Resturant Association !Sharon Bialek and David Axelrod lived in the same building and worked out in the gym ? That's where she says she use to see him ? "Baby Work Out" You better watch that Obama team and they can play prankster mean. Does David Axelrod know who Sharon Bialek is and Cain says he does not even recognize her voice, much less know who she is !

      Hey Perky,

Lie detector test are fine, but there is a much easier and faster way for Hermie to SLAP DOWN the Liberal Media. He asserts that the claims these women made were found by NRA investigation to be baseless, COrrect? And you are convinced Hermie is telling the TRUTH, correct?

Well all Hermie has to do is call the NRA, the special interest group that spread millions upon millions on our elected politicians so they would legislate on behalf of them, regardless of the affect it might have on We the People, – Call them and have them Waive the non-disclosure agreement. If he did that you, me, the liberal media would in fact see whether those claims were baseless.

Then, Hermie would be able to shove the facts down the throat of the Liberal Media. Wouldn't that be spectacular. So instead of bashing women who may be victims, why don't you petition your Lobbyist Leader to ofen the files.

It's ironic that the Tea Party, who has as a core principle the belief that the Influence of Special Interests must be eliminated, is BACKING a candidate that was not only a lobbyist, but was the HEAD of a National Special Interest Group. I can even hear the lobbyist throughout the nation laughing at the notion that the simpletons who hate lobbyist WANT to put a LOBBYIST into the White House. LOL! I wonder if other lobbyist will have greated or lesser access? Rhetorical!

Is enjoying watching all these old Grey Haired White Men on MSNBC Hardball pick on a black front runner for the; Republican Presidential nominee for some sexual harrasment case against him as a CEO. They won't talk about JFK sleeping with countless woman in the White House, President Clinton getting a blow job by an Intern right in the Oval Office, A White Senator sleeping with teenage boys, a white congressmen doing webcam shows/showing his dick for young girls, a California Governor Arnald sleeping with his maid and giving her baby while in office? The list goes on and on. Why are they acting like this is so rare with powerful people?

      Davey

SO what you are saying is that a President who 50 years ago had a consensual affair with a movie star, is enough justification for YOU to support a man running for President Today who has at least 6 or 7 claims that he has sexually harrassed young women. So a consensual affair 50 years ago justifies Cain and your support for him even though it appears he is an old man who tries to sexual take advantage of young women.

Hey simpleton, so your argument is that 6 or 7 people are a liars, and Cain the accused is the victim. So I guess the Conservative Radio host and his female staff are LIARS. And the Republican Pollster is also a LIAR, Correct. The only truth teller is as you put is the black man. Hmm. . .

Hey Davey, your old man can put this all to rest with one easy phone call. He asserts and you believe him when he says the charges by the first two women who recieved a sum of money are BASELESS, Right? Well, Davey all the little vitim has to do is waive the non-disclosure agreement and he can prove to the liberal media that they are wrong again!

Davey, DO you possess any common sense or are you a graduate from the No Child Left behind world?
Just Try and Think for a moment. Employers are not in the habit of having employees sign a non-disclosure clause pertaining to the situation surrounding their termination. I'll give you a second to mull that over . . . . . .. . . . . .

Common Sense Point 2: Employers do not ask employees to sign a non-disclosure agreement regarding the employees termination UNLESS THEY HAVE SOMETHING they don't want the public to find out. Hmmm. . . . .

Now I know Common Sense Reasoning will have NO effect on you, for you either blindly support candidates or you are WILLING to walk away from your principles just to not a Dem in office. What kind of Princip[les must they be if you can so easily walk away from them. Isn't that what is wrong with politics? That they are all too willing to walk away from their principles. It is not hard to understand why they do that, when you realize that our candidates possess the same level of conviction as their supporters who are also willing to leave their principles behind.

Is this guy for real? He obviously is a pathological liar, has an ego beyond Donald Trump's, and is in total denial of his behavior. He shows a complete lack of character and ethics, and it is a poor reflection on our society that he has made it through his business career with such an absence of morals, compassion, and human decency. He shows a total lack of respect for women with his actions, and his dismissal of these accusations shows his total disregard for their value as human beings. He is a total embarrassment to the political system in this country. Mr Cain, do the right thing, tell the truth for once, and withdraw from this political race so that we can focus on what is really important for this country.

Ms. Bialik was not very convincing, this was setup! This is not sexual assault, she "said to Cain Stop" and he did. This is a smear campain, nothing more, nothing less.

I hope Cain doesn't respond to any of these alledged allegations. They are all bogus and is a disgusting commentary on American politics.

This lady has not credibility what-so-ever. None, she said if you read the transcripts that this incident occurred 14 years ago. According to her direct statement. She was fired and was pissed off that Cain didn't get her job back.

    boo hoo.

Your Critical thinking skills are NON-existent.

YOu first assert that she has no credibility and thus her words can not be trusted. Now for the stupid part of your reasoning: You follow that claim that she should not be believe, but yet you use her words about whether he stopped or not as support for why she is not credible. It is juvenile to assert that we can't believe what someone says, and then use what she says as a basis for your position.. Geez! If you have any degrees – go get your money back.

The harassment charges were filed in the winter or spring of 1999. In early summer of that year Cain resigned early from him 3 year contract with the NRA. On a timeline, how close was the connection? Was he encourageed to leave?

Untill CNN has real proof of anything, I would suggest that CNN and wolf and Paul Begala back off and sit down. Can any of you at CNN really complain that Herman got a little upset when a pack of reporters, actually coyotes ready to tear into him based on ALLEGATIONS, lost his cool? Would not all of you lose your cool too? I remember when President Obama lost some of his cool too. How about that, wolf and Gloria and Paul? Donna too. If you have no bullets, then put the gun down. Thank you.

SO Kimmy, I use Kimmy because you must be very young and your thinking faculties are still so immature.

So what you are saying – is that a man who is put under stress by viscious reporters is quitre justified to lose his cool, correct? Maybe a working stiff, BUT NOT THE LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD. He has been under as you call it unfair criticism for how long – 6-8 days. Obama has been under 24/7 criticism for 1000+ days. Now to use Cain's argument "that;s apples and oranges".

If he can't handle 7 days of scrutiny, how is going to handle the stress of two wars, failing economy, a burgeoning deficit and a opposition party that has block every thing he has tried to do but 1.

What is far more disgusting is the way the media has become obsessed with this story. The incident, whatever it was, isn't something that occurred recently. The woman or women agreed to and received some kind of payoff that made them happy and they agreed to a confidentiality clause as a part of the settlement. If these women are wanting to step forward now and break the confidentiality agreement, that speaks for itself. They are either looking to cash in for yet more money, are part of a smear campaign and/or are seeking their 15 minutes of fame.

Cain was accused of sexual harassment and the accusers were paid off. That alone is enough information about this incident for anyone to make a judgment of the man and to be able to make a decision on whether or not to support him. Any additional details aren't going to make a difference one way or the other.

Wolf – maybe it is time you resigned from CNN (cable NEWS network) and go to work for TMZ or National Inquirer. You obviously enjoy salacious tabloid journalism and being able to report something that lets you use the word "sexual" over and over and over. How pathetic.

Herman Cain should not be considered to run for any office. He is the problem, that is , a lobbyist. He is a liar. Originally he said "he did not recall" when asked about the Sexuall Harassment that I am certain happened. Then he claimed it was nothing. He now violates the so called "confidentiallity" contract and claims the female who reported him " had poor performance." This is a typical retaliatory tactic of a Large Corporate dictator.
Hoffman La Roche / and Novartis used this same tactic in American when attacking and harassing women.

      Hmm.
You know maybe we should just get off Hermie's back. let him continue with his bumper sticker policies. Yes he will get the simpletons to vote for him, but that won't get the Independents. I would be very happy if he was the party's nomination for President.

Isn't it ironic that the candidate that the simpletons support is exactly the type of person who they believe is destroying the political process; is preventing politicians from doing what is best for We the People. A Lobbyist for a National Special Interest Group. A group that spreads millions upon millions upon our elected politicians so they will be obligated to legislate on behalf of special interest and not We the People. Special Interest Groups are as the Tea Party claims something that needs to be eliminated. Yet, they are willing to put a lobbyist right into the White House! Cain is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Gosh there is nothing worse than stupid people. Talk about needing a test to determine if people are intlelligent enough to vote! DO We EVER!

Someone obviously talked, or how would Politico have gotten the tip?
Once those "anonymous sources" and Politico put the story out there, should Cain have remained silent?

He did remain silent when Politico first contacted him. He honored the agreement, but once Politico made it public, he had every right to respond. Also, as I understand it, Mr. Cain never signed the confidentiality agreement.

        Silly Person.

Did ou think Hermie was lying when he first blamed a certain republican campaign, that has in their employ the the only person that knew of these charges other than the parties involved. Hmm. . . It wasn't until the conservative media and the republican talking heads began to chastise him for calling out a fellow republican- that he changed his story from reps to Dems. BUt heck you don't think Hermie lies, so he must have been saying what he actuall believed when he initially said it was the repubs.

Just so u know we pray that he will win the nimination, so much so that I have changed my party to Independent just so I can vote for him in our State's rep primary. Just think Cain vsd O'bama, what an epic battle.

If I were Cain and a reporter kept asking me the same question after I had said that I wouldn't be answering it I would say to them; "Excuse me, are you retarded?" And I don't like Republicans. I can see that this is a non-issue. Just because Wolf got lucky with Wiener doesn't mean that he is right with Cain. He'll have to get his praise somewhere else this time.

Another simpleton, I just love it.
So, he should call people, out loud, on national TV a derogatory name that has always been leveled at the handicap. Another Genius is speaks. Here is another person who makes me think an intelligence test might be necesssary to earn the right to vote. Gosh I can't stand stupid people.
You know what – the media should say OK – Hermie you know what we won't ask you anymore questions about your sexual deviancies, but we also won't give you hours of personal TV time, via interviews and press breifings so you can spew your sophomoric ideas. 9-9-9, Give me a break.

I heard a republican voter say on tv yesterday, that they like Cain's 9-9-9 plan, even though it will make me pay more taxes. SO I guess Conservatives ar not against all tax hikes; just tax hikes on the gluttonously wealthy. It seems Barnum and Bailey's adage is still true today.

What exactly has Cain done wrong? Tell me what law he has broken or what he is guilty of Wolf? You don't know what your reporting your just yammering on about an issue that happened over a decade ago. You are willing to drag these 2 women through the mud in attempt to uncover something that you do not even know what it might be. For over 3 days the media has talked non stop about this and yet they do not even know what he has done wrong or if he has done anything wrong. That is what we call a witch hunt. Next time get the facts first and stop trying to make them up as you go. Gossip does not suit you well Wolf, and it will cost you viewership.

Your argument is that since these sexual deviancies happened 10+ years ago, it has no bearing on whether Hermie has the character necessary to Lead the Free World. You know David Duke, hasn't really done anything is years, (to the best of my knowlegde). So with your inane logic, you wouldn't believe that his past would exclude him from being a worthy candidate, correct?

YOu know what I luv (NOT) about the self-proclaimed members of the party of family values, the fact they are so willing to walk away from their principles just to see that a Dem does not get into office. Your party would select the Devil- if it meant keeping a Dem out of office. OK an Over exageration, but not by much. For you will embrace the evil in people if it gets a repub closer to the Presidency. What kind of principles must you have if you are willing to walk away from them so easily? Ooh, ooh, I know- False ones!

Let me say one thing and then all americans should move on to something else to re-build their country. The so-called "TEA-PARTY" and the Republican Party will never elect under the sun and moon a BLACK MAN or BLACK WOMAN for their Presidential nomination. PS- Herman Cain should be worried because pretty soon some Net-Work will offer to cover and pay hefty sums to the two ladies involved for their stories. Beware! Beware ! My heart tells me the HERMINATOR is in DEEP TROUBLE and his bubble will soon be burst.

So, lets go out on a limb and argue that Cain made a mistake – 20 years ago. The media, as the media always does to individuals who maintain opposite political views, will only report the side of any given situation that the media feels supports its own perspective. But lets not forget that CNN, for example, just a few short months ago, reported on a very sneaky congressional bill that had re-implemented the ear marks that had just been banned – CNN simply forgot to mention that an amendment to eliminate redefined ear marks had passed 2 weeks before its story even broke – and they never issued a correction. Lets also not forget that when corruption in foreign elections is uncovered, the media is simply all over the atrocity of it all. Yet, when the media reports its "information" about a candidate they don't particularly like, they limit that persons coverage then set out to destroy him or her with any information that they can dig up – without regard for "the REST" of the story. What does this have to do with Cain's situation? Everything. The media, CNN included, cannot be trusted. The full story isn't even out and Cain is being crucified for something that MAY have happened in the way it's being portrayed – about 2 decades past. So WHAT? Obama has a Connecticut ssn though he was supposedly born in Hawaii and had never set foot in Connecticut. Why isn't this being reported? Our involvement in Libya was rammed down the tax payers throats and Congress was circumvented, but that was ok... Now we have "advisors" in other parts of Africa, yet the media doesn't report much about it – and this is exactly how Vietnam started. Our economy is in shambles, unemployment is rampant, yet Obama is hanging out in Martha's Vineyard and is campaigning for an election that remains over one year away. Where are the stories? Guess it's just easier to destroy a potential candidate for that same election because the media disagrees with his point of view – and this is exactly why the media should be sued into the stone age for interfering with our elections. Whatever Cain did 20 years ago....I don't much care, and I'm not one of his supporters though I do like his message. I would like to hear more of it before the election rolls around and, by then, I may choose to vote for him. That is, IF the media haven't destroyed his viability as a candidate by then.

I will always support a professional instead of a professional politician. Cain is a professional and Mitt is a professional politician. This is nothing more than a smear campaign against someone who is supported by the people. Clinton and Edwards were caught with their pants down and the media did everything they could to ignore the story until it came out. This is more a story like Obama smoking cocaine, it will pass by.

Not sure how anyone can forget being accused of sexual harassment even once, let alone twice. If it meant that little to him–to be accused twice of a crime–that he can forget it on a busy day, that by itself is a problem and possibly says a lot about why he probably DID sexually harass women. Gotta wonder if he is someone that jokes about the training....

      Hey Russian!

As you probably know, but find lying much more suitable, the leak was most likely made by a Republican candidate. Think about it, I know that is asking a lot, but who has the most to gain from this leak, the republican candidates of the President. Quite honestly all their dreams would come true if Cain was nominated. Even if Dems were afraid of Hermie, the best time to bring something scandalous up is about a 12-10 weeks before the election. You don't waste ammo like that 6 months before the candidates are even nominated. Now, I now this common sense approach will not deter you from your preference to lying, but I gave it a shot. the Republican voters show their lack of principles every time you support a candidate that is less than honorable, will lie about anything at any time if the lye might get them elected. Where is the honor in that? Where are family values in that? When did lying, & cheating, become synonymous with Integrity? Your party cannot have3 any family values because it is MORE than willing to vote for candidates that are not even "good" people, much less good Americans.

It's all news media "hype". They want to make it sound as if Herman Cain is "on trial for sexual harassment" when in fact there are no charges. Get over it CNN – Herman Cain will prove you wrong – he is the front runner and will be the front runner.

Herman Cain is for the people he is not politically connected and he is for the people – unlike other politicians who want to please everyone to get their vote.

      You Think?
Please elect a man whose tax plan is designed to raise taxes on the bottom 80%. Please, nominate a man who thinks sexual comments to more than one woman are "Just a lot to do about nothing". Please nominate a candidate that is not ready for the next question, much less the next crisis involving some terrorist from Ubecky-becki-beckistan.
Please nominate a candidate whose last job was that of a LOBBYIST where he bribed our representatives for a living – so they might disregard what is best for you & me, and do what is best for the restaurant association.
Please nominate a person who sat on Whirlpool’s Bd. Of Directors as they closed plant after plant, firing thousands of American jobs. Just so they could increase their profits 163% from 78 million to 205 million in one year.
Go ahead nominate a candidate that will screw you while in office, while he blames it on the Dems.

This IS a smear campaign! And as far as having a pre-fab, pre-canned storyline to spe in response, he simply tells the truth, like it is. He's true to himself. And that's why citizen-voters prefer him. Because he's different. And real.

"different"? You think he's different? Why is everyone acting so shocked that this man (any man) was accused of s_xual harrassment?! Really? Are you surprised? I don't know any men who DON'T objectify women – ESPECIALLY in a restaurant setting. We need to have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to men behaving this way. So one of these women wants to be "released" from her confidentiality agreement. Will she be paying back the money she took?
Also, it is perfectly logical that Herman Cain would have spoken about this issue. After all, it was Politico who chose to aggressively pursue this story (did they just as aggressively pursue the John Edwards sex scandal rumors?) and run with anonymous sources. Is Mr. Cain just supposed to sit back and not defend himself against these unnamed sources?

Your Principles are such , that you are able to defend a man that was accused of Sexual Harrassment against one of your own, A Lady! Not once, but twice! These ladies took their complaints to the proper company officials. The allegations were such that the Company felt it NECESSARY to offer a settlement in order to make this go away.

When the man you fervently defend is questioned about it – his answer is "I don't recall having two woman charge me with sexual harassment. Jane, imagine some co-worker, or neighbor, called you nasty 4 letter words that are normally directed at women. Short of the onset of Alzheimer’s, can you envisioning yourself not remember two separate incidents when asked about it. Might it even be fuzzy in your mind? Possibly, but not likely. Then he admits to the charges, but says one woman was terminated for incompetence. Jane, companies are not in the business of paying a year’s wages to employees who are fired, are they? Where's your common sense.
I know where it is? You abandoned it when you abandoned the Principles by which YOU live. And for what reason, because you have this anti-Christian position, that “The ends JUSTIFY the means”. And may I point out that “the Ends Justifies the Means” is a core Principle of Communism & Facism.
Better Pray that the Rapture doesn’t happen anytime soon, because I expect they’ll only be taking people who did not abandon their Christian Principles any time it suited them.
      Regards

What a disgrace to spend as much effort and time on this 12 year old incident. Instead of creating "all new chapters " on this story and trying to create the news, just report the news and we will decide if it's relavent or not. Once again CNN and you show your true political leanings and bias.

    Boy O Boy,

What a hatchet job Wolf Blitzer, CNN and the Liberal Media is doing on Herman Cain.
One of the ladies through her attorney now wants to speak out. Give me a break.
Funney the lady works for the Federal Government. What does that tell you?

    November 1, 2011 at 5:20 pm |
    • It's not us

I don't think the dems released the information, we want him to be the candidate!

That's not a bright point of view, or you are intentionally ignorant. The "Liberals" have no interest in Cain because he's noto the Republican nominee and is not even in the lead. This is Cain's OWN PARTY digging up dirt. The Republican Tea Party is digging up dirt on him, that's the race he's in. Try and keep up. And it's not "funny" that the woman works for the government...lots of people do. Cain wants to work for the government too.

Yeah, blame everything on the "liberal media." What an unfounded comment! I think the accuser should be allowed to talk..........BUT..........on the condition that she never receives ANY financial renumeration from the Media..........especially the "liberal" media. Okay, you can go listen to talk radio now.

God I Have know patience for Stupid people.

Your line about " she works for the government what does that tell. Implies that you believe is you work for the Federal government you MUST be a liar. Right! Federal employees are liars, therefore, the minute your man is elected (LOL) he will be a federal employee. Therefore, he will be just like all the others A LIAR. AT least in this instance He has already proven it.

BTW: Their doing the same hachet job they did on Clinton, on Edwards, and the NY Congressman, and O'bama when the pounded him unmercifully for weeks on end, about an affiliation he ad 15 years ago with a reverand.

Oh I'm sorry, I just notice your reference to Texas in your username. My Bad! I understand he isn't doing nuttin than what goes on everyday in many parts of Texas. You know the Lyin' and the harassing of women.

It's all over for Cain except the crying. He can bluster all he wants but it won't get him much. We don't need a President with alzheimers's or a conveniently selective memory. How many guys can't quite recall or remember if they were accused of sexual harassment? Now suddenly, "he is beginning to recall ..." Maybe there was a settlement reached and the women were paid off...but they weren't paid much. Jeezzz, we've some bad presidents but Cain would own the title.

Why do Dem.keep saying Herman Cain is not qualified to be President? He is more qualified than Obama bc.he has actually run successful companies And was born in USA w/ a birth cert. To prove it..

I can never understand why people think running a company is the equivalent of being president and running the country. What do you think would happen in a company if half of the people you work with wanted you to fail? How many times does the CEO have to make military decisions (unless it is to eliminate that half that don't like you)? Personally I don't want a corporate executive to run this country!

Who leak the story? The tea party GOP will find away to keep Cain a black man from being their candidate, just wait and see.

Wolf wrote a to the point blog entry here about this but the comments are so stupid i think i'm going to skip the reply i intended to post. Will correct ONE error(there's too many to cover). The GOP and Tea Party are 2 separate groups. The Tea party has supported Mr Cain for a very long time. This is probably where his strongest support is-the GOP can be broken up into 2 groups. The GOP establishment and the GOP voters. Trust me there it's no different in the Dem party-you have the DEM establishment and the voters. There is another group of voters-independent and they tend to be tea party-but not always. When they say independent. They mean independent. You can't always predict how or who they will vote for. Anyway, the GOP tea party doesn't exist. Fiscal conservatives could be either or both.I support Herman Cain.I watched the media try to cover up for Ted Kennedy, John Edwards,Bill Clinton-and these weren't just allegations.

The Republicans will tear themselves apart before the election. Cain says he has no idea who is behind it ?? All he has to do is look on the stage at the people with him from any debate. Politico is a Republican, conservative "news" reporting web site.

ain said his memory was coming back as the story broke yesterday but I read that Politico told min 10 days ago that the story was going to break. He didn't have time to remember what happened in 10 days?
Why is he allowed to recount what happened but not the two people who made the complaint?

  33. mikeVA

What happened to the news? CNN gets its highest ratings as journalists and you give us fluff rather than tough questions to a person running for president. The interview was awful. We need you to ask tough questions not sell your damn ratings with the pageant, singer lady.

I want to understand how Cain runs an organization. His job was to safeguard the finances, drive the governance, and accomplish his mission. He cover up and paid off his sexual harassment. How can this guy serve and protect the United States? In fact, ABC News asked the next question about his abuse of campaign finance laws, the other scandal with this guy.

Funny, I thought this article was about Herman Cain? We wouldn't try to change the subject would we? Do we have to wait for Cain to be elected, or can we impeach him ahead of time.

Cain was caught with his pants down and he lied about it. In fact this is characteristic of how he works from what i heard. Any way it does not matter who wins banks control our lives anyway.

Typical of the left, allegedly he told this woman she was the same height as his wife that made her uncomfortable and his the ground for her original suit (years and years ago) no basis she was given severence and summarily dismissed/fired. This is why lawyers like Obama are destroying the country. This is typical of dirty Chicago politics and smear. We have the greatest criminal administration in history in office at present........

We do not know who broke the story, just that it appeared on Politico, a right leaning organization. Believe me, the Democrats would love to have Cain win the nomination; however, Carl Rove and Mitt Romney would not. Better be careful about spreading around blame. By the way, when does Dick Cheney get charged for authorizing torture?

      November 1, 2011 at 6:50 pm |

So, politico.com (which is right-leaning) breaks the story yet somehow you blame OBAMA?!? Your reasoning skills amaze me...

Sorry Wolf...Even though his campaign had plenty of advance notice from Politico about this issue, Cain lies and says his uneven response was because he was surprised by the story, Sorry, he wasn't surprised. Why try to make him look stoic?

Don't have a lot of sympathy for Mr. Cain, about as much as he does for disadvantaged and poor people. All that mouth he has and not he is always speechless. Nonetheless, he need to be calling out his own party on this one, the dems could care less about Herman Cain, we know he aint going far anyway. The dems focus has been on Mitt Romney and people in his own party want him out of the way for Mitt Romney (there is an enemy in his camp)! I can just see the look of relief on Perry and Romney's face now.

Cain was a joke and a setup from the beginning and the fact that he didn’t and still don’t realize it only reinforces just how pathetic he and his “campaign “ is/was. He’s getting exactly what he deserves and the really sad part is he still don’t even realize that he was setup by the very people who put him there in the first place!! SAD!!!!!!!!!
