(CNN) – The two frontrunners in the race for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination aren't conservative enough, according to rival candidate Rick Santorum.
Santorum said Tuesday that former Godfather's Pizza CEO Herman Cain and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney were both lacking the conservative principles voters were looking for.
Programming note: GOP presidential candidates next face off at 8 p.m. ET Tuesday, October 18, in the CNN Western Republican Presidential Debate in Las Vegas, Nevada. Submit your questions for the debate here.

They were out to get Cain and I think he did a good job of holding his own.Put Bachman with Cain and they will walk away with the election. The rest have no idea what they are doing or talking about.Jim Thomas Phx.Az.
I was so distracted by the uncalled animosity displayed by Rick Perry...When Perry first entered the race I had high expectations for him – I don't know why, maybe all the hype and suggestion of white knight on his charger...anyway, he certainly has not lived up to the hype. I am beginning to think he has so many negatives he tries to cover them up with his constant, and uncalled for attacks on Romney. Perry does not wear well. His physical stance reminds me of the high-school bully just waiting to pick a fight. With his solid backing on the immigration issues and bickering just doesn't do anything for me.
During WWII anyone who enlisted or was drafted into military service was in for the duration of the war and six more months. Civilians accepted rationing of food, gasoline, etc. In 1969, Pres. Johnson im,posed a 10% surcharge on income to finance the war and produced a balanced budget during wartime. Nowadays it seems that wars must never affect civilians in the war zone or back home. Life and business must continue as usual. The result is our current economic mess. Let's pass a supplement to the War Powers Act in which, if the president commits troops in the numbers of one division or more to a conflict abroad, an automatic 10% surcharge tax is imposed on all income "for the durration lict and six." We will soon learn which wars the American public support.
Is this all there is? Is this an example of how starved The US Is for Real Leadership? Can you imagine a Real Situation needing cool headed decsions and some of these people being required to make them? Can you imagine the public in the voting booth and remembering this and pulling the voting lever? Will the democrats be smart to use these for their election campainging ads? We are left from last night with this- Cain, Gingrich, Santorum and Paul looked to be the best? Are they a real choice? Yes I still think Hermans plan has merit. The gang tried to confuse but did little to destroy. The people require dignity and correctness from their leadership. . I think the time is running out on the Republicans. The average comments in the office and diners are not good. Disillusionmnet is setting in. So what is the Real Polling for Obama against the crowd from those pulling the voting lever?
I watched the Republican debate last night. It reminded me of the Abbott and Costello routine, "Who's on first? Wha'ts on second? I don't know is on third!" It is hard to believe the republicans can't do any better than that. Mitt Romney lacks credibility. He is clearly either someone with a very short memory, or, a spineless coward who can't even own up to his own policies, i.e., "ROMNEY CARE" the foundation upon which the so-called "Obama care" health program was built. Herman Cain? Why did he stop making pizzas? Rick Santorum made some interesting points, but Rick Santorum for president!? I don't think so.
When is someone going to ask Cain what his 9
5 sales tax is going to do to low income Senior Citizens that aren't required to pay income tax. Also if the rich create jobs,WHEN are they going to start creating jobs here at home, instead of in other countries?
