Wolf Blitzer delivers the most important breaking news and political, international, and national security stories of the day. Tune to The Situation Room weekdays 5-7pm ET on CNN.
By CNN's Wolf Blitzer
Los Angeles (CNN) - Former Vice President Dick Cheney refuses to say he made any mistakes at all during his eight years in the Bush administration. He tells me he has no regrets whatsoever.
During our interview, in short, he was vintage Cheney.
He strongly defended his record on every single controversial issue I raised with him: the nearly $1 trillion TARP economic bailout package that the Bush administration pushed through Congress during its final weeks; the decision to invade Iraq even though Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with 9/11; the failure to kill Osama bin Laden when he was cornered in Tora Bora shortly after the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan; and the failure to take any steps in the summer of 2001 when he and President George W. Bush were warned that al Qaeda was planning to attack Americans in the United States.
I pointed out to the former vice president that everyone makes mistakes, and there’s nothing wrong with admitting mistakes. We are, after all, only human. No one is perfect.
But he refused to budge. “I'm proud of the policies we put in place. I think they did the job we intended for them to do. And I'm not inclined to make any mea culpas,” Cheney said. Just as in his new best-seller “In My Time,” Cheney defended every controversial decision he made.
He acknowledged that the intelligence suggesting that Saddam Hussein had stockpiles filled with weapons of mass destruction was wrong. Still, he defended the decision to invade Iraq and remove Saddam from power. His basic argument: the world is better off without Saddam. When I asked him if he had any regrets in Iraq, he said, “I think we made exactly the right decisions.”
On the economy, I pointed out that the Bush administration inherited a strong economy from the Clinton administration. There were robust budget surpluses for as far as the eye could see. But during the eight years of the Bush administration, those surpluses became deficits. The national debt doubled – going from $5 trillion to $10 trillion. Moreover, the country went into a horrible economic recession in the final months of the Bush administration, teetering on the brink of a depression. Yet Cheney refused to accept any personal responsibility.
The huge budget deficits were largely the result of no significant spending cuts to pay for two wars, two rounds of tax cuts and a new, unfunded Medicare mandate – prescription drug benefits for seniors.

RELATED STORY: Cheney: No regrets
What a chilling monster Cheney is. No heart, no soul.
Why doesn't he tell us everything that happened in that "energy meeting" in the first W admin? Still Top Secret policy.
I will rejoice when Cheney's heart finally gives out. He is and the Bush cronies did more damage to this country than Bin Laden ever could have hoped for.
Cheney's culpability depends on what you consider his potential "mistakes" were. Outside of Agnew, I think he's probably been the worst VP in U.S. History as far as working for the betterment of the country goes, but I don't believe that was a mistake – I think it was absolutely deliberate. He's always been an obvious – and extremely loud – supporter of what would make him more powerful.
The REAL culpability lies with the people who voted for him. Or didn't vote at all. He has never hidden the fact that he wants to be a second row dictator – just out of sight but in control of the strings. The real mistake was ever letting him get near the nation's capitol.
Dick, no mea culpas? how about seppuku?
Cheney is the epitome of the Republican tea party as it is today. "We do and have never done anything wrong. And even if we did, we'll never admit to it no matter what that does to the country and its citizens."
Eh, what else is new. Obama sneezes, and he's Satan's child. Cheney/Bush tank the economy and kill thousands of Americans, but they have no blame. What delusion.
They are all Satan's children. Globalists scumbags, all of them. BO, Bush family, Clinton family, Axelrod, Rahm, Cheney, etc.
Sound's to me like Cheney isn't even sorry for shooting his friend in the face. He doesn't have a real heart though, does he?
He needs to sit down and shut up. Yall know that his words are not even worthy. Do not buy his book!!!! His buddy Bush and he are stupidest people who made decision faster without thinking harder. They took all of your money because no body could save money for their future. Be more wise when you vote for the people next time. Do not buy his book!!!!!
A unrepentant sinner sins and says he has not sin. Cheney needs to ask God for all his sins and not deny them.
No regrets in Iraq.??? ....atfer 50000 Iraq people killed for nothing...think of the fathers, mothers and children they lost
Think about the the >3000 troops died for the lies and cover ups by Bush, Cheney,,,
NOW the debts and trouble economis and deficits.
NOW we are asked to consider crazy tea party candidates?
ALL for nothing! But the arrogance and deliberate ignorance....Pls brind these culprits to justice...
What did you think he was going to say?
Did I mention that Cheney is a vile snake and we should be ashamed to have ever allowed such a dark-hearted sleaze to come to power?
Mr. Cheney – you are amazing...you have ice water running through your veins. Yet you still have blood clots that clog your arteries. You are really something.
You also were Pres. Shrub's puppeteer. You were the Oz behind the presidential curtain speaking into his ear piece telling him what to say and do. You notice without you he has stayed out of the limelight because you aren't there to tell him what to say and do. You, on the other hand, are the biggest arse I've ever seen. You're 8 years of fame are up, Dude. Get over it. Slide yourself under the nearest boulder and hope and pray no body finds you.
This interview was nothing but a publicity stunt to increase sales of his book. Shame on those who buy it or read it. The only message he'll understand is if it hurts him in the pocketbook. That's the only sign language he understands.
I would love to see him waterboarded. Wonder if he'd admit any mistakes after that. It would be priceless.
The mans a high level MORON!! We all make mistakes Dick, the test of a true leader is give him some power..... YOU FAILED!!!
I've seen top advisors to President Bush W. completely denied al of his statements. When they all say that they don't recall none of that, that leaves one with 3 alternatives:
1. He's a chronic narcisistic person,
2. His heart attacks have affected his brain and left him with memory defficiencies or
3. Both of the above.
These 3 create a new series of questions to scare the heck out of anybody.
No need to apologize for anything, Dick. As a draft-dodging corporatist whose sole purpose in life was to line your pockets and seek power, you have accomplished your dreams. We Americans will spend a generation apologizing for you, and for the nitwits who support your sociopathic behavior.
In Cheney's case wouldn't mea maxima culpa be more appropriate??
Cheney is a criminal and traitor.
I am so proud to see that so many people see through Cheney and are unabashedly disgusted with this frightening man. I like the passion and no-nonsense skepticism I see here. It gives me hope for America. We are not fooled.
Our minister at Church this past Sunday had a great sermon . . . he claimed he only heard of 2 people in his lifetime that had a completely cold heart . . . Schrooge and a certain former Vice President. Schrooge at least redeemed himself. Dick Cheney still has some work to do . . .
use your favorite search engine (apparently the mention of a specific one got this flagged) to search for "cheney in 1994 on Iraq" and listen to Cheney outline all the reasons not to invade Iraq in 1994. All of them came to pass...how he can say he didn't make any mistakes is beyond me.
just google "cheney in 1994 on Iraq" and listen to Cheney outline all the reasons not to invade Iraq in 1994. All of them came to pass...how he can say he didn't make any mistakes is beyond me.
Mr Cheney. Why did you change your official residence status from Texas to Wyoming two weeks before the 2000 Republican Convention?...do you think that was in the spirit of the 12th Amendment to the US Constitution?...that would have been my first question.
Mr. Cheney is a very sick man - and I don't mean his heart.
It would be completely impossible for Dick Cheney to make amends for the damage he has done to the world in what remains of his utterly worthless life. He perfectly exemplifies the absolute worst that mankind is capable of. In due time, the historians of this world will correctly categorize him along with the likes of Hitler, Stalin, Mao, etc. Those who support him have lost all sense of their moral compass and care only about blind faith in their deeply flawed political zealotry.
These monsters live forever, I hope they stand Trial for all the things they have done for Humanity.
This man is pitful and needs to be helped. But pride always goes before the fall. There will come a time when he will admit that he made a lot of mistakes but it will be too late when he hears these words: "Depart from Me I never knew you."
Hey Wolf...some of us thought election 2000 was a crime you and the media didn't report on at all. Some of us thought that 9/11 was Bush's fault and didn't wave the flag behind his invasions and war-making. Some of us thought Bush should have been impeached for torture, espionage, war crimes and a number of Constitutional violations. I never once heard you protest any of these issues.
Bush and Cheney are criminals on more than one level. Neither should have held office and they may well have come close to destroying our country. They have certainly destroyed families the countries they have invaded on false pretenses (ok, lies).
If there were such a thing as an evil incarnation, Dick Cheney would top the list. Very rarely rises a leader so egomaniac, corrupt, prejudiced, and plain evil minded. There will always be a lot of retard spinners in his support. That does not change his character.
Blitzer's a goddamned toad. He and the media are still giving Bush/Cheney & co a free pass. This is the 1st time I ever saw Blitzer point out that $10 trillion of the debt/deficit is Bush's. I'll bet he doesn't say that once during the upcoming 2012 campaign. Just watch.... the Republican candidate will be blaming Obama for the economy and Blitzer won't say a word about it.
Unfortunately, the idiot voters will believe him – no matter what he says
Cheney doesn't deserve any ink. Not even on Fox News. He is a typical hubris-laden corporate executive.
actually he pointed out that the deficit was raised to $10T.....our defecit was at $5T and bush's policies doubled it to $10T....aka only $5T is bush's
The whole premise that an administration is responsible for a surplus or a deficit is short-sighted. The reason for the surplus during the Clinton admin was the internet bubble, which didn't last. It's ignorant to say that Clinton did anything to contribute to that. By the same token it's also unfair to blame Obama for the current economy, which is simply the result of most American's being maxed out with debt. The economic policies of a given administration will have a long-term affect, but to give credit or blame to a sitting president for business cycles is short-sighted. Also, give yourself a little test - if you can't say a single positive thing about an opposing political party, then your opinions are rooted in emotion instead of the issues. The fact is that every president has done something positive, if you can't recognize that then you're political views are based on emotion. P.S. Here's another test - if you're about to reply with "Name one thing that president ___ did that was good", you're an idiot.
Yea, finally the brainwashed republicans will hear the truth about the debt and where it came from.
I love how wolfie clearly states the failed 1 TRILLION dollar tarp bill was passed by bush a few weeks before he left office. Yet the republicans keep blaming obama for this stupid failed tarp bill. And the sad thing is the tarp bill saved their behinds. It bailed out the banks and other high financing institutions that held rich people's money accounts. The TARP had nothing to do with the average folks. The politicians were simply saving their own stash.
Since you seem to have blinders on, I add that Cheney is the worst morron arogant SOB right up there with D Trump. In ancien Rome, these same times can be compared to those of Nero and Caligula. I'll let you guess who is Calicula now.
And Cheney will be in denial until the day he dies. Beyond belief.
"You fasten all the triggers
For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher"
-Bob Dylan
you got that right
Just asking so don't go all crazy on me for this question – it is a legitimate question – How is 10 Trillion attached to Bush and Cheney? This is an honest question, I'm not trying to start a fight or anything like that I just want to know, because this is the first time I have seen that number attached to them!
Only $5 trillion of the debt is "Bush's." Obama has increased the debt by $4 trillion in just 2.5 years.
Its simple math. Lets just say Bush racked up 10 Trillion. Obama then Campaigns for the Presidential Office by Blasting Bush for the 10 Trillion and promises to reduce it. Ofcourse Obama turns the 10 Trillion into 14 Trillion and somehow blames Bush for that. How can Liberals with a straight face defend a guy who promised to reverse anything Bush has done, but in turn made it worse? That Baffles me! So basically any Democratic President who holds office will always have the media to blame Bush....even 20 years from now. It just shows how weak liberals are!
all that you said may be true but did you really have to lower your self to name calling. Civility is as important to you opinion as the content.
Ain't THAT the truth!
Cheney's artificial heart goes far further back than its implantation. Cheney and the NeoConservatives decided the only way to destroy the New Deal policies of Roosevelt (Social Security) and the Great Society policies (Medicare/MedicAide) of Johnson was to create 2 wars that would so drain the American Ecoomy that the next wave (the Tea Party) would finish the deal by eliminating all "socialist" programs because the deficit is too large to afford those programs. And Obama continues our involvement in both wars and increases our Federal debt by doing so and bolsters the Tea Party/NeoCon position to cut Federal spending for programs for seniors, veterans, and the unemployed. Prove me wrong. "When Fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the Flag and carrying a cross."
That is a really astute observation and highly on point. Good on ya Steve.
Do you really think anyone who's comfortable and in power cares anymore?
Steve, right spot on!
"invented two wars"? You should be ashamed of yourself.
Steve
LBJ and dem led house & senate voted in 1964 to ROB the excess $ in S/S Turst fund for his Austerity programs he made up in 1965 and ever since we have become a Capitalistic commie country. Do you know why we invaded Iraq? How about stopping Sadam from starting wwIII, he's been making noices since 1994 about ruling the middle east, he had WMD's that UN maroons have been searching for since 1993. It was also to KEEP you safe and the ability to exersise your 1st ammendment rights-
Steve, the problem is that Govt isnt very good and handling programs such as Medicare/Medicaid/Social Security........they are simply not sustainable under the current policies. Conservatives are not trying to eliminate any of those programs...why would they? Do you think Republican voters dont benefit from those programs? They do....but the programs need an overhaul.....they need to be fixed. Thats all the Conservatives want. Liberals like to play the class warfare game and the fear mongering system. Scare the elderly into voting for a Democrat. (LIberal).
Well said. I agree with your statement . Couldn't be better said!
"When Fascism comes to American, it will stick a tea bag in it's hat and rant and rave till morning."
Great post. Couldn't agree more.
Horsey and FIELD1stSGT, take a deep breath and stop writing such non-sense. Government is so corrupt that it needs restart.
Of course it is–look who's running it!
Wolf, you did a marvelous interview with Chaney, with support material from Peter Burgen. On a couple of occasions in the interview, you had him a little uneasy, arms starting to move rapidly when you pinned him down and to the point on some issues.. I also noticed he tried to lead you into "other areas" that he was more comfortable in talking about. You did not go there, Excellent job Wolf. What is sad, is that several thousand young men and women sacrificed themselves in Iraq, on a decision that he approved. We should have concentrated on Tora Bora and the perpetrators of 9/11.
Ok, so what about the wars today? Has your guy brought back the men and women yet? Obama's a disaster!!!
Blitzer was a Republican shill ever since Daddy Bush was dis-elected. He was right up Clinton's arze over White-water (a total fiasco) and the absurd ridiculous impeachment of Clinton. I remember Wolf Blitzer well in those years. And when election 2000 came along, the 2001 tax-cuts, 9/11, Afghanistan failure to get Bin Laden, Iraq and all that followed not a goddamned word of criticism from Blitzer's mouth....and I have yet to hear him admits those mistakes.
Are you saying the Impeachment of Bill Clinton wasnt justified? I love how Liberals conveniently forget what Bill Clinton did. If a Republican President would have done what Clinton did....forget about it. The Liberals would have been marching in the streets.
Moderate my Axx, That is nothing but censorship, and if any of you have ever read the constitution you know it is. that is almost as bad as the Supreme Court declaring that Money is Speech. If money is speech, what the hell is not having money?
Not having money is to not have a voice silly rabbit, and if the repubs have their way, you won't have a vote either.
Into the crystal clear cocktail of a Vice Presidents interview, Wolf once again drops a heaping dose of tainted olive sludge to turn this into a one big dirty imperial leftist martini. The chance to get some real insight into the how and why of historical decisions were wasted on his employers lust for more leftist slant. Think for yourself Wolf. My god man, is this is what good journalism means to you? The chance to get to know a very private man with deep convictions who was at the center of some of our nations darkest hours was wasted. I am proud of our Vice President for having to endure that disaster of interview you brought forth.
What a load of bunk. The Bush administration failed as monumentally as possible, almost certainly by design. They failed economically with the deftit and the spending, militarily with two failed wars and no attained goals, civically with how it dealt with Katrina, and most apparently in morality and spirituality with both Torture, opposition to civic freedoms and certainly in how they dealt with the aftermath of 9/11. The biggest failure since Nixon and on so many grounds so much worse than Nixon but it makes sense since Chaney and Rumsfeld were young upstarts under Nixon. IT's a sad commentary that they get such a pass when they were the architects of the destruction of America and during the last 100 years capitalism has failed twice. It did so first in the 20's and it failed again in 2008. Failed to the point that most people can't even begin to understand and yet this guy writes a crappy book. One things for sure, it won't be a European book tour. He's already listed as a war criminal in several countries, including Spain!
Thanks very much for your opinion mr. Cheney
"Our" vice president? Mine is Biden...you can keep your lying douchebag.
Chris – I liked your take on the interview. So I offer this opinion: Bush inherited not a strong economy from Clinton, but an unsustainable bubble economy rife with corruption from the likes of WorldCom, Enron and Tyco. The Clinton era economy was an illusion, where capital was raised for internet start ups, which in turn created a temporary bubble in tax revenues. The internet crash ended the bubble.. Add Clinton's own corrupt behavior, from selling the Lincoln bedroom, to Monica and finally to the pardon of Marc Rich in his last day of office. Bush inherited an internally rotting economy and rotten moral ethic from Clinton. Then he went on with his own unsustainable spending, as is pointed out correctly in the artice. Cheney was creepy, but loyal.
I believe Cheney when he says he doesn't believe he did anything wrong in all his years in the White House. Which would make him the most amoral, corrupt, decadent, greedy, heartless, soul-less black-guard ever to hold high office in America. He sent thousands of US troops to their deaths so he could get rich on Halliburton contracts. the man is SATAN
Deep convictions...darkest hours? You've been sold a lie. America after 9/11 could have been a beacon of freedom but this man turned our country in to its darkest hours. Those hours whereof you speak were self inflicted. And what has it brought us? Our country is in the position it is in 100% because of Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Wolfowitz. Obama inherited their mess.
I presume you actually claim to be a patriotic American, right? How pathetic that some of our citizens have sunk to ethical and intellectual levels that allow them to be proud of a low life like Dick Chaney. I worry for my country's future.
Proud of a heartless ghoul like Cheney? Wow. Proud of a man who refused military service a number of times because "he had other things to do" yet he had no problem sending other young people into an unnecessary war in Iraq. And let's not forget Halliburton and the billions of dollars of fraud inherent in their wartime contract. Proud of his secretive methods. Proud of his administration's catastrophic handling of a large budget surplus. Those Americas who doubt the destructive nature of the Bush/Cheney years need to stop listening to Limbaugh and Hannity and check out NPR or Anderson Cooper.
Blow sun-shine up Cheney's rear all you want, your Ex Vice sent young American boys and girls to die. If you denial that fact, then you shouldn't throw selected "facts" around. If you don't think so, go talk to the families who lost their love ones in this so called war. Or you can just blame Obama like your lovely Ex Vice would, since he doesn't want to take any responsibility for any of his own action. He is a coward.
Then he is not telling the truth. No one is perfect, and frankly the best leaders are the ones who can say, I made a mistake and this is what I would have done differently to fix it. Taking responsibility for our actions when they are wrong is the sign of a real leader. Dick Cheney is a scary, narcissist who has no idea what it means to work with a team, or what it means to really lead. I am disgusted that CNN is even giving this man air time. He's done nothing to help the US move forward in an positive direction.
Well said! So right on the mark.
When is Obama going to take responsibility for everything he's done wrong?
NotS: Another classic example of the 'yeah, but' strategy. It's recognized as a weak dodge, not a credible response or solution. This article is about Dick Cheney, not President Obama. The desperation of the Obama -haters is palpable.
Ann, Your liberal agenda speaks volumes here. Say whatever you want about Bush/Cheyney....but your so called leader...Obama..has not reversed one thing about the wars....he complained like a little girl about them while running for President....but did nothing while in office. Obama lied to all of you and somehow you still praise him. You cant blame Bush for the wars, then promise to end them, then blame Bush for not ending them. Obama show no leadership.....and tomorrow night will be an example of that when he plays the balme game once again.
Of course Cheney won't admit to anything. He is the textbook example of a sociopath, and people like him who have lost all their connection to the notion of right and wrong, through some brain dysfunction, are incapable of admitting to wrongdoing.
As much as I dislike this man who is personally responsible for starting two wars and thus leading America into a financial disaster I must ask God to forgive him.. It is a very difficult thing to do but I know that God has a plan for him too. So, Mr. Cheney ask the Lord to forgive your actions and the hurt you have done to millions of people. God will forgive you and I am too.
You should know a sociopath and those who don't know the difference between right and wrong, being a liberal and all@!
Gotta agree with you on that one. Cheney is a power-hungry madman...pure and simple.
Thats funny, you just reminded me of someone in office today. Obama never takes blame or admits mistakes. He places blame on Bush, Tea Party, Rich Corporate Jet owners, Congress...anyone but himself.
of course he has no regrets over iraq....HE PROFITED FROM THE EFFING WAR!!!! HOW COULD HE POSSIBLY REGRET THAT
Israel, I'm so glad I kept reading the comments because I was going to say the exact thing you said. It seemed so strange seeing my words coming from someone else! THANK YOU! How many more believe this to be the truth?
Keep in mind - this is the same guy who said, when asked about Bush & Co's actions during the whole WMD fiasco, that they'd do everything the same, even if they knew ahead of time that there were no WMDs in Iraq. And this guy was second in command?!
The mark of a true leader is his or her ability to admit mistakes and learn from them...proving conclusively that, whatever Cheney is, he is NOT a leader.
Actually, Diane Feinstein (Democrat) State of California made the most money when she was head of the committee that gave out contracts for IRAQ. She awarded a contract to her husbands company and he made tons of cash. She secretly resigned that post and the media never said a peep about it. So........stop looking at the Republicans as crooks when you have thieves in your own back yard.
If there were any justice in this country, Cheney would be doing hard time.
blataflast, I kind of disagree with you. If there was any justice in this country, not only would he be doing hard time, but maybe his fancy heart helper would quit.
The Iraq invasion was a great decision. The Bush administration freed tens of millions under oppression from Afghanistan, to Iraq, to denying US funds to abortions, the world is a far, far better place because of the risks and gutsy policies under the Bush administration.
Our current President has had a magic carpet ride and all he's done was screw things up and blame it on everyone else. What a child we have in the White House.
You might be the dumbest person in america. Every single action the bush administration took was wrong, illigal, and borderline treason. The fact that anyone votes R anymore is proof that the US has been fully brainwashed to believe hate and greed are good, and helping your fellow man is bad. Americans are sick.
Cheney should run in 2012. He has much more executive experience than Obama and he knew more about what was going on in the White House than Hillary did when she lived there. And he definitely knows how the military runs. He's not afraid to make the tough decisions, unlike the current tenant.
Well said.
AMEN!!!!!!!
Well said.
He IS the dumbest person on the planet, so there is no reasonaing with him. His mind is made up - don't confuse him with the facts. He probably believes in the easter bunny and santa claus, too.
so you're saying that it's great that almost a million people died for freedom they weren't even aware of nor willing to take control of?? and you're also saying it's great that we supported the with-holding of funds for people who were raped and inseminated with no choice and then forced to have an illegitamate child they didn't want because of a pretty traumatizing ordeal that would constantly be a reminder to them of what they went through?? that doesn't sound very american or very "Free" to me....conservative republicans want us to be slaves, bottom line
This only proves that he and his goonies successfully fooled you into believing that their war-mongering was good for America. It wasn't. They basically stole tax payers' money and gave it to companies that were already rich by creating a series of wars – all their friends in oil, arms manufacturing, construction and security services have had booming business while average Americans struggled to keep their jobs and houses and credit scores, and depleting the government's surplus. But what do they care. Their bank accounts are full, they're retired, and they have the Secret Service protecting them for life.
The only jobs plan the republicans have come up with is the 2 wars.
If you think the people of Iraq are "freed" from oppression now that Sadaam is gone, you are truly dilusional. Talk to someone that's been there about what those people continue to go through. The insurgents aren't much different than Sadaam's forces, in that they use terror and force to accomplish their goals. We took an already grim situation for a country's people, and somehow made it worse.
Do you have no knowledge of history? We may have liberated a lot of people from a couple dictators (at the cost of several thousand American lives), but there are dozens of warlords lying in wait for the US troops to pull up stakes and leave. At NO POINT in history did a lasting regime change result from external actions - unless the people want freedom enough to die for it themselves, it won't last.
As much as you want to claim that Dubya and Cheney did great things, remember that it's not enough to free someone - you need to see that they KEEP their freedom. Too bad Bush wasn't smart enough to read beyond the first chapter.
you need a history lesson- 2 unfunded wars and an unfunded tax cut and Bush's TARP put us in the mess we are in financially
PS do some facts check, Cheney's company has profited from the war without even doing any work.
Child in the white house? You must be referring to Georgie Boy Bush Fed by the Golden Spoon up his ... "is our children educated?"
Wow – this must be a sarcastic post. No way anyone could mean this for real. Check the facts: Bush was not elected in 2000 but grabbed office anyway, disappeared on 9/11, started a fake war to make trillions for his buds that has killed thousands, turned the economy into garbage, refused to uphold the Constitution (in fact worked against it by promoting torture), and left thousands of poor to die in New Orleans who could have been saved. Oh yeah, and he also behaved irresponsibly on his free pass from going to Vietnam (not turning up for easy duty AT HOME), and ran every business he was ever connected with into ruin. We have had 2 childish Presidents, Reagan and Bush Jr, and we need to figure out how to avoid letting more immature puppets into the Oval Office, because our economy and our troops should not have to endure another Republican idiot.
It was a 'great decision' because..........?
This is one truly evil guy.
Watching him unrepentant for his crimes and lies is like watching some serial killer, like a Charles Manson bragging about his murders.
Dick Cheney and Republicans are expert in spinning.... they can spin an issue from black to white...from a lie to truth...from deceit to honesty.....This what Dick and his cronies are good for...what can we say? They are all a bunch of LIARS....
The man is a sociopath- he will take no responsibility for his mess and all of the problems caused by the Bush administration.
Why does CNN give this awful guy the airtime to spout his pathetic excuses for such a miserable treatment of the American people? Give me a break!
you miss the big picture here, the more cnn reveals him as an evil vile monster that he really is, the more people might wake up to the true face of conservatism
To recognize mistakes takes personal honesty. What is just as stunning about his statement is the lack of objectivity. This is the kind of arrogance that gets a lot of people killed.
"Gets a lot of people killed" is speaking hypothetically. His arrogance did, in fact, get hundreds of thousands of people killed.
Good for Cheney. These were true Americans; gentlemen, but men who could make tough decisions without sticking a wet finger in the air to see which way public opinion was blowing. God bless them!
Not so fast. The Bush administration absolutely relied on public opinion before invading Iraq. Public opinion was in their favor at the time (although it has waned considerably). Not only public opinion in the US, but also abroad. That's why it took the Bush adminsitration so long to invade. They were waiting for public opinion while spinning their lies about WMD.
they were not and are not true Americans. Deceitful and evil yes.
Are you sure they were not sticking their finger somewhere? From the pain and anguish they have caused Americans in general, and the general stench associated with that abomination of an administration, I posit they were sticking a finger up america's rear.
true criminals
I NEVER speak for God, but I can safely say that God did not, would not and will not bless him...what he and that administration did was nothing short of treason and murder...AND, it is they who started this wonderful country down the road to H E L L
You're kidding, right? Dubya and Cheney may have acted without investigating public opinion, but they also COMPLETELY IGNORED intel that ran contrary to their desires. Remember the bipartisan committee that found no credible evidence that Saddam had any role in 9/11? Bush and Cheney ignored it and started a war anyway.
Discounting evidence doesn't make you brave...it makes you foolhardy. And that's how historians will view Bush and Cheney.
Absolutely! It takes a true American and a real man to drive the country to the brink of breaking while ignoring international laws with absolutley no regard for the well-being of your fellow citizens of the country and the world. If only Cheney would step up and offer for the 2012 presidency we'd all be saved and Canada would have a sudden population boom.
Never mind he broke every principal this country was founded on,......
Yeah, heaven forbid they should listen to the public-the people they were elected to serve! Ignorance and pig-headed stubborness are not traits to be lauded. "Gentlemen"?! Ha!
"Cheney refuses to admit any mistakes as vice president" – – So, he thinks we actually *found* WMD in Iraq? LOL!
I know you were only joking, Robrob, but Cheney KNEW there were no WMDs, so no, why would he be sorry for going into Iraq as he planned all along?
Cheney is a liar, war criminal and thief. If Haliburton was ever honestly investigated all these chages would be proven. Last I heard Haliburton received 8 Billion dollars they can't account for. There has been no meaningful investigation. Also what kind of sense do "NO BID" contracts make? Can you spell Kick Backs?
Cheney will try to take over Heaven or Hell dependent on which one he goes to. He had better start praying before his heart pump gives out.
BUSH AND CHENEY should be investigated and in prison. Haliburton should be investigated. They are the reason why we are in this financial mess in the first place. Cheney never lost anyone in the war. He has been cushioned by his stockpiles of money.
Personally, I have no regrets for having DETESTED him, his boss, and the many-honorary-degreed substitute for a Secretary of State. I got MY bumper sticker right when these criminals ran the second time: "We didn't vote for you last time – I'm not going to again." I had interesting notes left on my car. Not one was coherent. At least Mr. Biden has the courtesy to sleep through everything. Can't do much harm that way, can you, Joe? Joe? Hey! Joe!!!!
Oh Wolf, dontcha see? He has no regrets because he's a crazy person. He has no soul either. (and obviously, not much of a heart).
He will NEVER admit that he made a mistake....
this man is very scary. he made a fool of the united states of america. of course he had help from bush. is there no justice in this land? why give him headline news outlet to state his stupid reasons for what he and bush did. we would never have lost so many lives in countries that we really had no quarrel with. without he and bush maybe wiser heads would have ruled. they are murderers of our soldiers . they should be tried for treason.
Those who refuse to admit mistakes are incapable of learning.
Bush inherited a strong economy? The economy of the late 90's was a giant bubble supported by the grossly inflated dotcom and telecommunications sectors. In addition, the late 90's were one of the worse periods of corporate malfeasance in history – also contributing to the bubble. This giant bubble drove huge increases in revenue to the feds making it look like we were all set – Not! The bubble exploded before Bush was in office – all of the revenue was gone and not coming back. The projected surpluses were never going to happen. NASDAQ 5000 became NASDAQ 2000 before Bush took office. Trillions of dollars in 401K funds disappeared. And the Bush admin went after the corporate fraudsters much more aggressively than the Obama admin has gone after the wall street critters who helped bring our economy down in 2008.
Wolf – can you admit you made a mistake when you wrote that Bush inherited a strong economy?
Check the FBIs own statistics. White collar crime reached epidemic proportions during the Bush years because there was no prosecution, no investigation by order of the administration. Business knew that they had a license to steal!
u are just trying to lay blame on the previous president. That does not fly. It went down hill due to Bushenomics.
Bush not only inherited a strong economy but also a surplus which he utterly squandered. There is no mistaking this.
@EI if that is true, then why on Earth did Bush push for the tax breaks so much?
Bush did inherit a strong economy, it's a fact. Remember that during Clinton's time budget surplus was not only supported by dotcom bubble, the President Administration also significantly cut the welfare programs during that time. Despite being a democrat and liberal Clinton took it hard on public assistance programs. Bottom line is Clinton's budget was sustainable, even with recession followed dotcom bubble we would have made it through.
Bush on a contrary pushed forward populistic laws such as tax cut that benefited nobody but rich, prescription drug program for senior citizens, which is noble but we had no revenue to support it. The following two wars that were also put on tab. Other words Bush's administration bloated budget without any revenew to support it. This is spoiled rich kid behaviour who thinks money grow on trees. Did he ever work in his life, did he know how it is to raise a family on a single income and make ends meet every month, we would not be in the hole as we are now.
If what you say is true...then, I am really confused as to why Bush and Company would have taken us into 2 wars and another entitlement program without paying for them or raising taxes to offset the huges amounts of money he must have known would be needed for the wars and the new entitlement program...either way you try and spin it, the Bush and Company administration really took this country down the garden path and left us in the mud there
No mea culpas, huh? Any mea stupidas?
"The man who makes no mistakes does not usually make anything" William Magee (archbishop of York)
In other words dick cheney
Obama was included in the TARP decisions.
He doesn't have to admit them, they are all there and we are still paying for them. He may be able to deny them but regrettably we can't.
Someone should ask Cheney how doing favors for Gaddafi helped us with the war on terror.
Uh, why not ask him about ALL the money and war machinery he helped Saddam Hussein get during his time with Daddy Bush? He has been involved with the worst offenders of crimes against humanity in the Middle East for most of his adult life...after refusing to serve this country, getting 5 or 6 deferements...nice man...NOT
He is a sick egomaniac.....everything he did was perfect and he has no regrets or learnings. Just sad!!
Cheney is so conservative he his lesbian daughter with open arms.
Cheney defends the Bush admin? No way! It's like he was on our side or something.
All this man is doing is creating or trying to create an attention to people to get them not to think about his illegal war in Iraq and his sending Haliburton to clean up the mess. He is an evil businessman, a greedy and evil murderer. He keeps sticking his evil head out in the news and no one except an idiot would believe this cruddy person.
I do have a comment for "Shecky", though. How about this? Let's eliminate all Democrats, either by hanging or firing squad. Let's turn this country over to total Republican Rule. Let's go attack and rule over every country and nation that doesn't agree with democratic or Christian values. If they disagree...bomb 'em. Annihilate 'em. Let's arm every remaining individual in this country above the age of 10 with weapons and tell them to shoot-to-kill anyone who doesn't agree with the prevailing rulers of the nation. How's that sound? Total and complete Republican rule for the country, ad infinitum, in perpetuity. Wouldn't you be happy as a pig in ***t? And let's figure out some way to keep Cheney alive and calling all the shots along with George W. Bush. God! What a happy world this would be. There'd be two chickens in every pot and six cars in every garage for everyone...that supported the regime!!!!!
I just don't understand why anyone would listen to him. He is clearly delusional.
Hear, hear! And lets see how many stooges buy this traitors book.
Of course he has no regrets, he wasn't in the war and didn't risk his sorry life. Cheney is about nothing more than greed and money. This guy has no morals and can't even admit how wrong it was for us to go to Iraq. What a gutless scumbag.
heartless!!!
i can't wait to read the last chapter - the one where Cheney is sentenced to life imprisonment in Abu Ghirab for committing war crimes and selling his soul to Satan.
Cheney is plain & simply "Evil Personified"
No comment necessary. Cheney speaks for himself and only himself.
I will be praying for this evil man's death for what he did to my beloved country all for the sake of $$
Did Cheney make any mistakes? Of course he did but I have to say that the media is becoming a little bit tiresome in its endless insistence that people admit their mistakes or demand apologies. I saw comedian Kat Williams get badgered in a CNN interview by Don Lemon, basically begging him to apologize to a heckler. Why? Because the heckler claimed that he was in Mexico and Williams had the nerve to point out that they were actually in Pheonix, AZ... USA. How dare Kat insult the illegal alien.... err-uh undocumented person by pointing out something that is factually correct? It's time for the media to stop playing the role the apology police, and start focussing on the issues of true significance. Sorry CNN, browbeating people into the desired politically correct response is not journalism.
Blame the media? Cheney's the one who put out a book and looking for publicity, for heaven's sake!
I'm inclined to think that what Cheney and Rumsfeld did to this, and other nations, is, and will continue to be, significant.
If history doesn't rank the Cheney vice-presidency as among the very worst in the history of this country, then there is no justice. He is the personification of immorality. That he was allowed for eight long years to influence the direction of this country will haunt us 100 years from today. A miserable excuse for a human being made even more disgusting by his unbridled ego and misplaced sense of moral and ethical superiority.
Of course Cheney is going to pat himself and his old boss on the back. I mean, did anyone really expect any different?
Of course he will pat himself on the back. To do otherwise would mean that he would have to confront his demons. But he was the one calling the shots in the Bush administration. Bush was too stupid to even make a decision on what toilet paper to use at the White House.
We (The United States of America) were better off with Saddam in Iraq. Not saying the Iraqi's would be or anyone else. Not like we Americans give two shits, most of us really don't even know where Iraq is. But as an American, with American interests at heart. Yes, Saddam in Iraq was better for the U.S.
Well, obviously..that's why Cheney and Bush 1 gave so much money and war materials to Saddam...we NEVER care about the people...just the leaders who can keep the oil flowing
God is proving right now,you don't get away with mass thievery and deceit on a global scale.
Before Cheney leaves this earth, everyone of his very rich, thieving friends will see what God has in store for them too.
All the money you stole won't help you now.
What a nice thought that God will balance everything in the end. If only there were a shred of truth to any of that nonsense. :/
This man is a criminal, and should be on trial...
What happened to free speech?
His statements to Blitzer are not what are on trial, but his book contains enough admissions to convict him for crimes against humanity. . It is what he did during those eight years that make him a war criminal
Since when are war crimes, which we prosecuted in the 1940s, considered free speech?
"What happened to free speech?"
What does that have to do with state-sanctioned torture, spying on our own citizens, or murdering foreign nationals with no evidence?!
This war criminal should face the same fate as Saddam Hussein, period. There is not statute of limitation for murder and in his case mass murder, or for war crimes. This contemptible coward deserves no mercy or sympathy since he and the president he served are responsible not only of war crimes but the disgraceful assault on our precious Constitution, our prosperity and the future outlook of generations of Americans.
There is nothing to say about this man. Remember how he was SO CONCERN about the US getting attacked by TERRORISTS? And now many ARAB countries are going the opposite direction? He has not clue what this world is about. He just cares about making money and justifying his ignorance. Go away Cheney!!!
Of course he won't admit he made mistakes, that would mean he's saying he was wrong. He was a weasel in office and he's still a weasel.. I really wish he would quit trying to get attention.
exactly who was this guy?
He was evil personified.
And I wouldn't accept a copy of his trash if it were free and came with a bonus.
Dick Cheney will burn in hell for his actions and what he has done to this nation and its people. What a jerk–faked an injury so he would not have to stand in respect for Obama's inauguration.
I am waiting for him to be a convicted war criminal here as he is in Spain.
I wonder what would happen if we tie Dickie boy to a chair and then let in every single parent, wife, brother, husband and sister of every American soldier that lost his\her life in this god awful Iraq war.
No honor – no regrets. He should be in prison.
Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld were cut from the same mold. Cheney with his 5 deferments should never be allowed near service men or women. Libraries should post his book in the fiction section.
To have a human being not admit any mistakes, especially Cheney (who should be in prison) is chilling.
He and Palin have a lot in common.
Very well said.
Do you even know what the heades you're talking about?
Seems more than obvious. Do you?
Cheney and Bush should be charged with crimes against humanity for their actions in deceiving the country and world about Iraq–costing untold thousands of lives. Put them both behind bars, I say!
In his condition it is like being in prison.
Here is a guy that enjoys owning prisons, he enjoyed watching Iraqi prissiness being tortured, he lies, he should be judged by an international war crimes tribunal, a racist, corrupt and unrepentant.
Since his first heart attack he is always thinking if today will be his last day on earth and he is just a duracell battery away from being full dead.
I think he is getting what he deserves.
What a strange man. Totally in denial. No mistakes made in Iraq? One of the most ill-conceived, sloppily executed campaigns in American history with virtually no occupation plan resulting in complete anarchy for weeks after the fall of Hussein, massive property destruction and looting with the end result a widespread hatred for Americans among the Iraqi people. This man is quite a piece of work!
AND, He's "not a crook" either!
shecky are you for real. It's called the truth, not hatred and lies....those are reserved for the republi-CONS.they lie so much that to even themselves they think it's true..Seems if they say enough times it becomes fact, esp.IF YOU don't look/read anything else to verify Facts.
You certaily are showing the mentality of the Liberals. Aren't you blind follower who can't face facts your man is dead in the water? He is belly up and floating.
It cracks me up that you call a liberal a blind follower, when it's you so called conservatives that walk in lock step to the beat of the drumb of greed and destruction. The president's not dead in the water, it's the entire country, and it's easy to see who made our nation the mess it is now... "Conservatives". God bless you guys for taking a powerfull nation and reducing it to a third world haven for billionaires.
Wolfie, just look at the faces in the photo, do you understand the difference?
Dick Cheney is a man without a heart or a conscience.
or a friend...!!
That is an understatement. As the architect of our torture policy he should be charged with treason. This is the only way to correct the mistake and regain the rule of law. If Obama pardons him that would be fine, but only after he has been arrested and tried.
He's got heart that won't fail soon enough
Cheney didn't make any mistakes? Was shooting his friend intentional? And that was a personal mistake. Doesn't come close to his mistakes as a "VP" (or were they intentional, too) string 'em up.
I understand he never apoligized for shooting his buddy. As a hunter I was trained to never pull the trigger unless I knew where the round was going. Oh yeah,, I learned that in the Army, something Cheney dodged rather than join. I'll bet the 6000 plus Soldiers who died because of this P.O.S. knew that rule...
This country would be FAR better off if George W. Bush and Dick Cheney were still in charge.
And Wolf, – you are a PITIFUL interviewer. Your bias and hatred show clearly. Just like your disappointment was SO obvious the night Bush beat Kerry. I thought you were going to CRY then!!!
This country would be FAR better off if George W. Bush and Dick Cheney were still in charge???? I'm afraid Shecky that they'd be the ONLY ones left. They would have gone into hiding and gotten the rest of us nuked. That's pretty sick to think we'd be better off. Maybe you are right up there with them.
Bush and Cheney knew how to lead
Yeah, Horsey. They sure did know how to lead. They lead us into an abyss after having inherited a robust economy. Just to name one.
Well they certainly led this nation into the gutter...!!
If Bush and Cheney were still in charge there would be no country.
There will be no country if we don't oust those brainless tea baggers as well.
Intelligent people can disagree without name calling. I also think we would be better off with Bush and Cheney than Obama and Biden. But I respect the opinions of people who disagree with me. Some of the people on this blog are more into hating than thinking.
I agree with you Carol! And just think...the Republican party is wanting to have anther Tx governor as Prez. Already had 2 from Tx and BOTH of them messed up this country so bad, it's going to take YEARS to unscrew. Please say NO to Perry. Only jobs he "created" in Texas was minimum wage jobs plus we lost 60,000 jobs but only 10,000 jobs filled. Still have hiring freeze on the "GOOD" jobs, like with the government or state and county. I have nightmares of want can happen if Perry is elected.
You Carol are an idiot. it is Obama who has destroyed this country and brought racial hatred back to the forefront. Now after all the babbling of the slobbering big lips about Palin and anyone else who opposed Obama. We are in a set back to way before the Civil War. So if this is what you want then bring it on? I personally am tired of the whining and crying for more handouts out of the idiots who follow Obama. Of course CNN will not post this for it is the truth and spoken harshly against Obama's people.
Sarge: Have you noticed that Cheney supporters on this blog have forged a gigantic lead in the use of terms such as 'idiot', 'stupid', 'moron', etc? Does that mean anything to you? Are these the people you want leading this country?
You're either a FOX news employee, Halliburton Employee, Top Rich 1% or a Red Neck with a 12 gauge shotgun sitting on porch and spitting tobacco in a can...claiming that Obama is a Muslim and not an American.
Yes we can!
thanks for your comment snooki....you help get the obama voters revved up...we'd hate to see bush2/perry win in 2012...everyone needs blind comments like yours to wake up and not repeat bad history..
Lets summarize GWB's tenure: Two recessions, two wars (one of which was by choice), wrecked education (NCLB), wrecked the environment (gutted EPA and every environmental regulation), wrecked science (only allowed politically agreeable science), wrecked half the Bill of Rights, wrecked our standing among the global community, utterly botched the response with Katrina... Did I miss anything?
you forgot torture
Yes...one thing. They redefined what is acceptable torture. ei...water boarding. It's not concerned torture in their eyes. But I do agree about everything else you said. Worst President ever!! Now they're wanting ANOTHER governor from Texas...oh please!! Strike three and USA loses!! Also remember, the last 3 years of dumba**'s presidency, his approval rating was below 30% and most of the time it was 25%. All Bush saw was a blank checkbook and started spending to help out HIS and Dick's friends. Will we (USA) ever recover??
AMEN!
you seem to have forgetten a certain little RECESSION that occurred right before bush left office, and a stimulus package that he passed that did little to nothing to curb it.....also you seem to have forgotten about our surplus that melted away after bush took office
We certainly benefited from the 8 years they were in power.
1. Doubled the deficit.
2. Started a war based on lies.
3. Justified torture.
4. Alienated the rest of the civilized and uncivilized world.
Yeah I feel the love.
Republicans have a way of telling you a lie and thinking you are going to believe it's the truth if they say it enough! Those days are over – and this lying sack of sheet and his imbecile President took only eight years to destroy all the good the Clinton administration had put in place in this country. Cheney is the worst of the worst and has had a long career of corruption that has gone unchallenged. I would love to see him spend the rest of his days in prison.
may I live to see that day. Only a fool doesn't learn from their mistakes, but Cheney's no fool. He knew exactly what they were doing. He's a petty evil, lying little toad. Greedy to the core.
Just the fact that he sits there in a shirt and tie INSTEAD of an orange jump suit speaks volumes not only of the narcissistic crazy person being interviewed but also on the narcissistic interviewer who fails completely to call him on his
disease. Cheney should be arrested as a criminal. Blitzer should have his journalism degree revoked, assuming he has one.
now if only ALL the american people would listen to what wolf pointed out, how much damage old scrub left in his wake...truly a war criminal , BOTH OF THEM...wish they would be tried...that would really open the public's eyes for what is going on...but it never will happen...so the rest of the world looks down on us
Dick Cheney should be on trial for war crimes, not allowed to make money from a book tour. He, George Bush, Donald Rumsfeld, Condoleeza Rice, and all the other regime conspirators belong in prison for the rest of their miserable, pathetic little lives. They are collectively guilty of illegally invading a country, then torturing and slaughtering HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of its innocent men, women and children. These lowlife pieces of garbage should be tried for torture and genocide, not allowed to remain free to profit from their crimes via speaking engagements. It is exceedingly hypocritical to be calling for the capture of Ghaddafi, Al Qaeda heads and other war criminals when we do absolutely nothing about the ones here at home. Our country's priorities are VASTLY messed up.
I am with you 100% on your comments about what the real consequences should be for this heartless narcissist and his pals. The only thing we all CAN do is vote all of these types out of office.
Mitchell.....you are ignorant, pal. Hundreds of thousands slaughtered??? By al-queda and the like.
would it have happened if we invaded iraq?? nope probably not....remember al qaedia wasn't in iraq until we invaded
Bush and Cheney are heroes. The current President doesn't deserve to stand in their shadow. Gutsy, principled men.
Okay. I'll bite. What heroic acts did they perform?
Yeah. They got a lot of OTHER people killed for absolutely no reason. real heroes.
Oh, yeah, very gutsy and principled. They had the guts to fight for the principle of invading a country on false pretenses, of lying to the American people (resulting in the completely unecessary deaths of Americans and countless more deaths of Iraqi civilians), they inherited a robust economy and tanked it about as bad as a depression by the time they were through, they broke all sorts of American principles like torture, they ignored New Orleans and people died as a result, because the culture there is not what they believe in, and on and on and on. Let's compare that to Obama, a guy who's putting country before his own party, a guy who believes in defending American principles of decency and compassion, a man who ousted a dictator just now without the loss of a single American life. A man who has restored respect for the United States after your darling Bush/Cheney duo weakened our standing in the world. What drugs are you on?
Oh yeah for sure – and Hitler was humanitarian...!!
If you really knew the meaning of the word "heroes" you would not apply it to these two. If you described them as manipulative, cowardly, self serving, egotistical, and totally lacking in ethics you would be much more correct. Try again.
Please.. Why do you think Obama got elected?
You're being sarcastic, right, horsey? Please tell me you're joking. If you're unable to understand that 8 years of awful policies from one of the worst administrations in US history is what got us into this huge mess than you're delusional. You think they're "heroes". Wow, what color is the sky in your world? What exactly is heroic about destroying the US economy? By the way, it seems to me that Obama accomplished what those two dopes failed to do, catch Bin Laden. Republicans = mission failed; Democrats = MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.
Bush and Cheney heros???Gutsy principled men???
How much guts does it take to send others into a war?
Now that we Americans know the truth about Saddam and Irqa, we see that threre wasn't a single reason out there to justify a war.
9/11 happened on their watch. They did keep us safe, and had no idea how to respond...
We are in the mess we are in now because of the shape they left the country in.
Bush is an elitist and ant-American. You're easily fooled by these 2 evil men, Bush and Cheney.
Troll plan and simple
cheney/bush are liars and criminals and should be in prison or searching for landmines in Iraq. Bringers of death, misery and debt who worked for their corrupt corporate buddies. Their election was fraudulent . They were one of the worst thing to happen to this country ever. We are all paying the cost of their foolhardiness. Anyone who cheers for them is blind.
Sincerely, Greg Hamby
Where were you between 2000-2008 while the Bush/Cheney gang was running this country into the ground? Obama has more integrity in his little finger than those other 2 have total. The Bush/Cheney thugs told almost 1,000 lies to get us into Iraq so Bushy could avenge the attempt on his father's life and as a result over 4,000 Americans have died and probably over a trillion dollars wasted just for hin to "get even". Thye should be tried for treason and war crimes.
Bush and Cheney gutsy? They never made our country better it was more like Jr. wanting to finish what daddy Bush could not in Iraq and Cheney he's the devils spit. I'm sure Cheney has no regrets, he's not studpid, he's deliberatly saying to the world arrogantly that's what they wanted and that's what they did. I would like to know from the people who voted for them if they felt Bush Jr. was living upto what he sold them? I hold the people who voted for these crooks just as responsible.
Gutsy? Who isn't with a loaded weapon. Principled? Hardly. To say these men had a few ethical shortcomings is like saying Jeffrey Dahmer suffered from an eating disorder.
principled men, eh? no apologies whatsoever, eh? Wonder what he will say when he gets to the pearly gates? No apologies either....he he he....like Cheney himself used to say.."you make your own bed"....guess what.... he'll have to "sleep" in it when he gets up there..but you guys don't care about any of this...you have it all figured out right? lol
Heroes? George W. Bush and Dick Cheney are heroes? The word for someone who refuses to admit or acknowledge they have made a mistake is not "Hero". Heroes dont send others to die for them for arbitrary reasons, heroes admit when they make mistakes. Bush and Cheney for 8 years swindled the American People out of their money, liberty and security. To say that they are heroes because they found themselves in elected office during 9/11, and to say that nobody else could have done a better job is ludicrous.
Hear, hear! Through the bums in jail for war crimes!
Mitchell, I agree. Good post.
