There were several coibirtutnng factors to this nearly 20% increase in the population between the end of 2009 and the end of 2010. One of those factors appears to have been much better pup survival. Another is undoubtedly the cumulative effect of zero wolf removals for livestock depredations over the past three years. The U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service deserves much credit for resisting pressure to remove wolves. Another positive development has been the increased use of proactive measures to prevent depredations. The total number of confirmed wolf depredations fell to less than a dozen in 2010. If lobos are removed from Endangered Species Act protection and management is handed to the states, it is almost certain that predator "control" would soon return in force. That is what would happen if HR509 passes.

    Tea people-
I respect your opinions, and I salute the fact that you've brought spending to the forefront of the argument. Now, please, just realize that not everyone agrees with your approach to government. Those people that don't agree with you are just as American as you are. Their voices deserve to be heard, just as yours do. Since this is a constitutional republic, our leaders are elected to represent ALL of us, not just you. That alone means that you need to learn to compromise.
Having things all your way is really only possible in a dictatorship. What I'm hearing from the Right lately is that a dictatorship would be okay, as long as you're the dictator. Is this what you want your movement to stand for?

The Tea Party is just American voters who are paying attention and want our government to stop spending, limit the size of government and let us be responsible for ourselves. It has nothing to do with race, but when you have no other argument, it probably seems to the accuser to have the most impact to call vile names and demonize the people you want silenced. Wolf Blitzter's report today was shameful. He was trying desperately to label anyone with an opposing view as racist, but most of America is way too smart for that. Race-baiting is vile and obvious. Calling what happened to Gabby Giffords anything other than an attack by a person with mental problems is ridiculous and again, I think the majority of Americans are way too smart . . . Change is coming!
