Those who _know_ how to live _below the poverty line_ are better off than those with excess wealth who do not know how to live a life of wealth.
When I was a kid living with my aunt and uncle we used to go dumpster diving for food. They knew right when to go get the goods, so we never went without eating and we never got sick. I look back on those days gone by and think that I was better off then as opposed to now, where my prescription medications cost _twice_ what I receive from Disability each month and I am *still* unable to concentrate long enough to read a book from cover to cover, etc....
