The 'vile' saga continues
(CNN) – Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz admitted Wednesday that fellow Florida Rep. Allen West's e-mail rant was the kind of attack she's never experienced before.
In an interview on CNN's "The Situation Room," Schultz added, "And I was surprised that he sent that to my personal e-mail, an e-mail that he didn't previously have."
But the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee claimed that West's insult-filled message didn't faze her, instead charging that the real heat is coming from West's own backyard.

The "American People" have repeatedly been appealed to by both parties to share the pain that Washington has created; we are not sharing it, we are carrying it. According to US Census data, the median household income in this country is $53,000 while the base salary of the 535 members of congress is $174,000 (total = $93m plus). That 328% more than the rest of us; yet not one of our elected officials have proposed a cut in his/her own salary or a motion to decline this year's annual automatic cost of living increase. Additionally, public data indicates that the lowest amount spent per congress person on staff salaries is roughly $1.5 million per year with some going over 2 million (total =~ $800m plus). Spending cuts start within congress before Medicare, Medicaid, etc. A 50% reduction on personal salaries and staffers will save this country at least $447 million dollars. Nearly all of elected officials are millionaires prior to serving in office, is it too farfetched to believe that they really need a six figure salary? Why do you think they do not want to restore taxes to the pre-Bush days? Statistical evidence shows that tax cuts did not create jobs, it created this financial mess. This country is on its knees, we need less drama and more leadership. We live in the remnants of a once great country that has fallen to corporate greed and a prejudicial congress. What a wonderful way to thank the people who built this country than by increasing their retirement age and stealing their social security. On August 2nd, veterans, seniors, and the disabled should get their checks, Congress is the one who’s pay should be withheld until this problem is resolved.
Since you brought up Ronald Reagan and the debt ceiling, Wolfe, you also might want to remind your audience of what Senator Barack Obama said in 2006 when it came time for him to vote for a debt ceiling increase while George Bush was President.
How many of your viewers know that Senator Barack Obama voted AGAINST raising the debt ceiling, and that he actually said it was a "failure of leadership" to be asking for it to be raised? Sure would be nice if some White House reporter would remind Mr. Obama of what his own words from not that long ago.
