Washington (CNN) – It was a wonderful Thursday night for hope, healing and laughter at the Stand Up for Heroes dinner at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington.
My friends, Bob and Lee Woodruff, created a really important foundation to help our wounded warriors. Bob is the ABC News journalist who was severely wounded in Iraq but has made an amazing recovery. They’ve raised lots of money for the troops and their families. I met many of them at the dinner and was understandably moved. Their stories of courage and survival are amazing.
