CNN's Mohammed Jamjoom reports on the possibility of ISIS and AQAP joining forces in the Middle East.
This is a not a very pleasant topic to bring up....and I'm not exactly sure what to do about it....
....but if we go back four hundred years or so to the days of Hernan Cortez and his conquest of the Aztecs....and then turn our attention to our own country in what happened with the Native Americans....aren't there some comparisons that can be drawn between our own history and what's going on with ISIS? Or am I supposed to ignore this as we see yet another fight start to break out?
How do we address this as a nation? I mean, at what point will be start taking ownership of the things we have swept under the rug for so long? If history is truly repeating itself...and if the only person we can truly change is ourselves, then what is the most appropriate way to handle this information about ISIS?
If the politicians won't talk about this....maybe we nobodies should. After all, I really don't want to see any more of our troops come back in boxes. Put me in a room with the President, Benjamin Netanyahu, and a few of our nations most prominent Christian leaders, and let's go way back a few thousand years to see if we can't figure this all out. I think there's a lot more going on in the stories of the Bible than we realize.
And I think it's time we matured a bit as a nation...maybe even as a planet. This kill-or-be-killed stuff is getting very old. We simply must be smarter than this.
