Grim numbers for Obama's approval rating

The latest CNN/ORC poll numbers show Pres. Obama's approval rating has hit an all-time low, with only 41% approving of the job he's doing. Wolf Blitzer discusses with New York Times columnist Frank Bruni and CNN's Crossfire co-hosts Stephanie Cutter and Newt Gingrich.

Its important to look at poll numbers as they represent the broad based feelings of a nation, but when we look at history, that 41% approval mark may not be as grim. Each one of our last nine presidents, at some point in their term(s), had an approval rating well below 41%. The real question from a political standpoint is weather Obamacare will show some signs of growth, because ultimately its success is tied with the president's.

With CNN's reporting on healthcare it's no wonder that the President's approval ratings have dropped. People hear all of this negativity over and over and it effects the way that they feel. But there are all kinds of successes to report. Why isn't CNN reporting on these equally? There are all kinds of positive things going on. Healthcare costs rising at slowest rate in 50 years. Obamacare in Mass has brought premiums down for second straight year. People without insurance from their employer can now get a GOOD healthcare plan at an affordable rate. Low income get it for much cheaper than the average employee plans that people have. And it is *real* coverage. States that have decided to participate in health care are doing really well. But you wouldn't know all of these things watching CNN

Caving and folding, not even acknowledging doing anything about ending Scooter Libby Justice (one of his campaign promises) has a resounding effect on Obama's base. Not responding at all or inadequately to the sabotage republicans lay before his every steps really is wearing thin. He is after all the President with a bully pulpit and numerous resources to combat his foes that continue to spin lies and propaganda to the millions of Americans that lack common sense or lets just say unable to see past the smoke screen of deception used by the Republicans. Will President Obama ever go on the offensive, ever use leverage, shed light on the republican cockroaches for all the USA to see. Our vehicle for change President Obama has shown all the power of a ford fiesta, struggling over every hill. I can safely say however bad his approval ratings are, that he is still million percent better for our country than any republican holding any office anywhere. One must consider as well the only people waiting by the phone to ring at the fox news viewing audience, The democrats and independents are out working trying to eke out an existence in a country where the only financial recovery has gone to the richest 1% for the last 30 years. Six years ago we had a man that ran for President who had a set of stones, Dennis Kucinich. I can only wonder how much further along we would be as a Nation had he won the Presidency. A set of stones is a very nice trait to have when dealing with hell's minions(the republicans). If given the chance to advise this President, my advise would be employ Dennis Kucinich to learn from him and maybe even learn to get a set of stones.
