Tom I think everyone ageers that the system is unsound. The reality is that a new alternative is not going to emerge overnight. So everyone the world over (short of hunter/gatherers) has an interest in not letting the system fail in the short term. It is like when you see a new bridge being built next to an old, crumbling one. Everyone ageers that the new bridge will be better, but meanwhile, thousands of peole a day still are crossing the river. You don't let the old bridge collapse until the new bridge is done.
