(CNN) – With 28 days left in the presidential race, Republican nominee Mitt Romney talks Tuesday with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, host of the "The Situation Room."
Tune in at 6 p.m. ET as Romney joins "The Situation Room" live from the trail in Ohio.
The interview comes two weeks after CNN National Political Correspondent Jim Acosta interviewed Romney in Vandalia, Ohio on September 25.
RELATED STORY: 28 days to go: After weeks of struggles, a horse race for Mitt Romney
Hi...I have question on foreign affairs to both presidential candidates for the debate today.
My question is this; There is much tension going on in middle east especially between Iran and Israel. If and when Iran attack Israel or Isreal attack Iran and full blown war will happen with NO possible diplomatic resolution on sight. The scenario of war will possibly involve other countries perhaps Israel versus Iran, Russia and possibly China and others. If you are going to be President of the US, should you depend Israel militarilly and put America in harms way?
I have sent the same question question Candy Crowley. She might not get the question due to her busy schedule.
The questions that Wolfe is asking Romney... sounds like they have been mailed in from the Romney Camp..He sounds ready to answer the question before Wolfe finishes asking it. This is not the response from Romney..one would accept.. it is too quick and too in depth... This is a carefully orchestrated infomercial disguised as a non biased political interview. Shame on you CNN.. you are not even good at concealing the staged interview..Interviews are suppose to be spontaneous..not orchestrated!
lets talk the big corporations ,mitt romney, and the millionaires, stop getting loops holes and tax breaks, laying wokers off and sending jobs over seas ,downsiging, destroying the poor and middie class.cutting job to keep from giving health care cuting worker hours to ban health care, and low wages for more work ,lets be fair the rich getting richer ,the poor getting poorer.this is amessand i hope the president gets four more years to work on oue problrms for all the people, his job is for 100%,nor just 47% ,it takes t for this country to run ,the bigs dogs keep their money ,and depend on middie and poor ,its too bad they took our jobs our healthcare and pay no taxes so thats why this country is in bad shape .so please wake america wake up and vote for our president he trrrrrying to help all of us thank you
How much is Mitt Paying you guys to allow him to spew his Hypocrisy.. Giving him full cooperation on un-trueing a truth from his anti 47% statement. and ...There's Wolfe Blitzer patronizing The Bishop Romney lying through his teeth .and you guys know it and we know it too. CNN is the new Fox News..Lets don't compete for airing the truth ..lets compete where the money is ...behind lies.. like 1933 Germany...Goebbels would be proud of you Wolfe.
I so happy i'm not the only one to see cnn become more like fox, a very sad day that you gave up on being in the middle
I have been noticing this for a while now: CNN is doing “foxy” interviews! Can’t you get an answer out of these GOP guys? And when they lie or do not answer, would it not be your job to point this out instead of becoming a platform for their propaganda? What kind of crappy journalism is this?
Not surprise about Paul Ryan ducking reporters’ questions. He's a light-weight just like his wanta be boss...Romney. I really believe it is just a few of us who are really listening to what they are telling folks. I still say (yeah I’m that 20% who say Obama won the debate) Romney didn't know or understand what he was talking about in the debate and Obama caught on and bowed out graciously. However I understood Mr. Obama. Obama's style and rhetoric was dignified not boorish like Romney's. Last Spring I was hospitalized and then sent to a skilled nursing facility for 6 weeks, and who would believe in the same year, I'm once again in a skilled nursing facility this time for 3 weeks but have a private room. The first nursing facility I had a roommate, an 87-year old Caucasian woman who suffers from dementia. Funny we never spoke or talk with each other. I did tried a few times but decided to give her her space. Sometimes she would lash out at the staff, say crazy things and at times do a complete shutdown (Hmmmm….sounds like Romney). However, in the very wee hours when I somehow was awaken or was still awake I would hear her talking, quite naturally to herself, but this talk was different, well-paced. a modulate tone so as they say "I took a listen." The speech or talk was well beyond me, but funny I could understand it. Thus, I inquired about her background and was told she was a retired college professor and would recite her lectures from time to time. The moral of the story is that Mr. Obama had a better handle in presenting his message as to say you could understand him in the debate than Romney and the reason for that is because Mr. Obama too was a college professor.
Thought to share that. There’s a new Boogeyman on the scene his name is Mitt Romney. Terrorizing old folks, poor folks, little kids, China, the Queen of England, Mr. Obama, those Angelical Christians, and so on . . .
you all are talking about the romney intervew. A better question to ask is what kind of president whoul bey ryan be if something happed to romney.
Wolf that was a horrible interview you did with Romney. You allowed him to tell you the "Job Creators (wealthy)" would not get a break but still create jobs. Romney's theory is to free the wealthy from high taxes so they will invest and create jobs. If their taxes stay the same, where is the money to invest? No investment, no jobs, no tax income expansion through growth to offset a 20% across the board break. He also said the middle class would get some relief.
Wolf, I think the 4.8 trillion is derived from taking 20% of the total non-corporate tax obligation to the IRS. In general, you would need to elimiante about 19.4 trillion in deduction to offset the break if the average tax rate for the country is 25%. If a tax payer pays at a 25% rate, normally you reduce your tax burden by 25 cents for every dollar of your deductions. It is well known that there is not enough deductions to offset his tax cut. Until Romney can tell you what the deductions are, it will be a tax increase on the poor, middle class or add to the deficit to pay for the huge tax breaks for the rich. Its very simple, if you give one tax payer a dollar, you must take it from another taxpayer.
Romney does not want to change the tax revenue code on corporations and small businesses punished by Obama. That is why our economy is stagnant because the companies are scared to expand their businesses. I am proud to work with these top corporation who provide me what I need for me and my family. I started with nothing 20 years ago, and build myself up. I was laid off in 2009 because our division was sold, but got another job a month after because of my expertise. I believe in hardwork and perseverance pays off not rellying in government to feed me.
Romney copied the current Middle-East policy of the Obama Administration trying to make himself sound credible! Apparently Wolf Blitzer doesn't know what the Administration's Middle-East policy is or doesn't care that Romney would, in effect, lie in trying to declare his position as different!
Wake up America – CNN seems to be in the bag.
I wonder if Wolf and CNN are getting paid for these GOP/TP/R+R commercials. Hope so because it surly has nothing to do with journalism!
I wrote and asked you to find out if Mitt Romney would give up his $4.5 million in legal tax deductions to meet the talked about $17K limit. Wolf you had two opportunities to ask Gov Romney if he would give up his $4.5 million in tax deductions to have only $17 thousand and you didn't take them. You had him talking about the $17K once. You led him up to it and had the door open and backed off. We all deserve to know if he will take the same tax law that we will. Then you had him saying "the wealthy will pay no less of the burden than they do now". That's huge Wolf. He said he will not talk about legislation but will leave it to congress to meet his revenue neutral position. You have been tougher on leaders of other countries, with CEO's and so many others. I don't know what stopped you at those points but I hope it wasn't protecting future interviews, debate hosting, revenue etc. You have never outwardly been that way please don't stop now. There still is time with Candy Crowley on Sunday and in the debate and your interviews or your reporters questions to Romney between now and then.
Thanks for hearing me out
How can it be said that the president helped the middle class by helping GM. I am middle class had 500 shares in GM only to loose that and GM revamp took all my money and start new with no consequences ....enough talk we need someone to take hold and really do something for this country even if that means they will only be a one term president ..think of the people
I thought I was viewing Fox News regarding the interview of Mitt Romney by Wolf Blitzer. No hardball questions. He accepted everything that the candidate relayed him. Last time I will be watching CNN except for the AM. I will watch Solodad. She is not afraid to ask the tough questions and Joe Scarbrough with MSNBC is too biased. Wolf used to ask fair and tough questions. What happened to that guy?
Wolf, Will you be giving Obama equal time?
my daughter has had harder questions in her 1st grade homework then you gave Romney
CNN should be ashamed of their bias against Romney. People are really getting fed up with it.Big Bird? You actually endorse someone who uses a sesame street character in his campaign ?
If Mr. Romney thinks the presidents remarks regarding the PBS character 'Big Bird' shows some tendency towards the mundane and unimportant in this most important of seasons, why in the name of heaven did he (Mr. Romney)feel it important enough to bring up Mr. Bird to begin with?
lets hope wolf blitzer , ask Romney anything, cause lately CNN has become more and more FOX news lite. CNN and specially Mr Blitzer have become a Megaphone for Romney and his campaign ...
Wolfe it's fascinating to listen to you and John King promoting and giving Mitt Romney excellent ideas and advise on how to beat President Obama. I never hear you giving this type of support to the Obama campaign. I have discussed this with other viewers and they also see a bias. So much for a neutral objective news media. Good luck with your candidate of choice. You are entitled to it I guess!!
Why isn't cnn saying more about the fact that Mitt Romney lied numerous times during the debate and after, and that Paul Ryan has done the same. Are you condoning that it's OK to do this? The only thing you seem to be reporting on is how bad Obama did . When did cnn move to the right? Did you get bought out by Fox?
One Question that no one is asking about Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan is would you like Paul Ryan as President. Heave forbid if something happend to Romney could we all live Paul Ryand's vison for America?
Generally Mormons are known for honesty and family values. Why is Candidate Romney not being open and honest about his and Ann's Income Taxes for the past 10 years. If he plans to release, do it NOW, TODAY not at the last minute. If he is not going to be honest with the American Public, WHY NOT? Is this lack of honesty and secrecy to be expected to continue if he moves to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.?
Dear Mr Blitzer during your interview with candidate Romny today as a reporter have a duty to question his inegrity and may also remind voters that the election was not held last Wedensday and is not over. Unlike many voters I admire president honosty. However, I believe Mr Obama miscalculated voters awareness and attention. Candidate Romney's performance as a century old charlatan salesman who sells bottles of bogus medicine was Oscar's worthy And ts almost like viewers choosing an actor for his appearance on Oscar night instead of his perfomace for the film he was nominated. Once again chameleon created a perfect camouflage and unsuspected fell for it. At the end may i suggest for future presidenal campaign you media should stop lenghtly coverage and instead concentrate on the debates after all we are well known for movie making.
I hope Wolf B. will use the lie detector while interviewing Romney to have any validity of this interview
Wolf you should explain to the viewers how if Romney is elected and repeals Obama care how much it will effect the seniors and on prescription drugs that the seniors would have to pay 100% of the cost , how pr exciting condition would not be cover, and insurance company would go to capping treatments, and and stop treating of high risk instead of making a big thing of the polls, Romney has not won, Obama is still president you to much for Romney.
Are you going to question Romney re his lies or will you let yourself be overwhelmed -the way you were yesterday when the Republican policy adviser was on? You disappointed me when you allowed the Republican to take over the interview. Since when has those tactics been acceptable on your show?
Romney thinks if elected president all he has to do is order the defunctional congress (to say yes sir boss), It took Obama 2 years to pass Obama care, to do away with it and install his version of health care it would take forever, mean all senior on medicare or ( advantage care under medicate would stop the prescription would go back up to 100% cost to the seniors, president Bush sign into law. Just to win the election he will make senors pay more which they can not afford, people with per-exceeding will be drop and the insurance would bring back caps on how much they will pay, WAKE America Romney mean to hurt the middle class big time its the 47% even big bird will be hurt!
How does Mitt Romney feel it is fair for him to pay the tax he paid on his million dollars, while I am paying tax at the 25% tax bracket and in the middle income. If he and others, would pay their fair share, we would have no deficit. We would have no problems with social security or medicare going broke. I would just like the rich to pay their fair share.
Why are you only having an interview with Mtt Romney and not extend the same to Obama? Your commentary sometimes sound very biased in favour of Mitt Romney. You seem to ignore the polls that suggest that Obama is leading. It is like you are trying to brainwash the rest of the population. Balanced reporting is critical if people are to have faith in your reporting. Otherwise, just declare that you are campaigning for Romney. You also seem to surround yourself with commentators that will agree with your analysis.
Romney wants more money for defense. He also wants to double the production of new ships and the math just isn't working for me. QUESTION: How does he intend to fund this and – more importantly – how does he intend to recruit the additional personnel that will be needed to man these ships? How will he fund their eventual retirement?
