This type of measure is long overdue, Wolf. We seem to obsess with the dangers of distracted driving and lose sight of the fact that many of the the distractions are prevasive. I have seen countless people wandering down the street, across intersections with or without the light, texting, listening or phoning. It's a dangerous world. Even when everyone takes care, stuff happens. I'd hate someone to be morally in the right but totally dead because of their distracted walking.

Don't get me started on cyclists.
