Why must we cut stupid idiots slack. His states burning to the ground and he's out begging for votes.

Because its too early, he doesn't really need to do anything yet – let his own opponents expose his weaknesses such as the HPV mess that is coming to light; patience, its a long battle.

Perry is the guy who had dinner with the Pakistani guy who hid OBL in his backyard and is wanted in Pakistan for murder of a political figure. To me this is extreme lack of understanding of the world events and American priorities.

comments like this from a public official should be considered treason. We are at war. This man is aiding and abetting the enemy, trying to damage the moral and fighting strengh of the military by attacks on the president as commander in chief !!

It was a cheap shot but hardly at par with treason – Perry has a big ego, he's still fresh, let him trip on his own rope for awhile.

Sorry Wolf, that was a dumb question and President Obama answered it very well. He does not need to get into a "pissing" Contest with Perry on anything at this moment. Perry will implode under his own weight. Perry will have all of that Corporate money to keep his afloat for a while though.

I totally agree that Perry will implode and many of his decisions as governor might come back to haunt him; in some manner Obamas quiet caution that Perry will have to be more mindful of his words on the national stage is a subtle shot across the bow.

Hey, Gergen, the Republicans ARE to blame. Nice try. What is that sign for some foundation you always have behind you on a shelf? Free advertising is great, isn't it?
