CNN's Brian Todd explains the cuts involved in the debt deal and how it will affect you.
As I was watching the whole debate on debt in this country, I was wondering if I am the only person thinking one thing:
Cut the majority of foreign aid, shipping out billions and billions of our tax dollars abroad ! Why does the government in this country not care about their own people ?! With as many problems we have, unemployment, insufficient healthcare, aging infrastructure etc. etc., why does the government not take care of these things?!
Why are the Republicans strongly protecting the ultra rich and big business? They are the ones who got us in this mess in the first place, and they don't seem to want to help repairing their damage that they caused. Raising taxes on the them would help our situation a great deal. They are not looking at anything in the long term. I quess we we know who is running the republicans. When ever the utra rich and big business wants something all they have to do in wag the republican tail, and it's done.
Will President Obama allow the Bush tax cuts expire thereby raising taxes on ALL Americans? I doubt President Obama wants to the Rpublicans stating he raised taxes on small businesses and the middle class during his campaign.
Is it realistic to think that the Republican members are going to approve an increase in tax revenues in the Super Committee? I find it highly unrealistic that they would do so and the so-called sword held above their neck is nothing more than a paper sword. Only way revenues will be raised is by a combination of tax reforms that are neutral in their immediate effect but are assumed to stimulate the economy (dynamic scoring by CBO). Do we really think that tax cuts are the answer to our stagnant economy? Trickle down economics has only served to make the wealth gap wider!
The debt debacle will affect my traditional voting habits over the next three years. Right now, I'm considering voting for no incumbents!
