Hey Wolf - How do you describe a society that wants to pay for it's past mistakes by withdrawing investment in feeding children, their health care and failing to educate them? Cutting off it's nose to spite it's face. How would you decribe advocates of those policies? I can only think of two terms that adequtately describe them - ignorant or suicidal

Mr. Sanders and all the OTHER INEFFECTIVE SENATORS and congressmen should JUST SHUT UP AND GO HOME! THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE CURRENT "mess" THIS COUNTRY IS IN! WE DON'T NEED THEM OR THE LYING "COVER-UP" NEWS MEDIA.

Kat is concise and correct. Mr Sanders' exalted leader voted against raisinfg the debt limit. He ( Obama ) was correct at that time but unfiortunately, his loyal Democrat minions, have a short memory on ther historical front. Sanders is a self-serving jerk, just like most of his colleagues.

The hatred we have for each other has reached a toxic level from which there is no recovery. In Britain we see the beginning of what may be the destruction of our political institutions, and honestly I can't grieve for them. The arrogant notion that we are the best nation on earth has become a sad joke as we succumb to the same forces that destroyed our enemies...the unbridled greed that allowed wealthy people with no social conscience to give mortgage loans to millions of the poor who had no hope of paying them, and then rating them as triple A investments and foisting them on the unwary. Whatever horrors fate has in store for us we richly deserve.

Actually mortgage loans were given out to people who couldn't pay them back because of pressure by the Government. The idea was to get more lower income families into their own homes. The policy began under the Clinton administration with banks being encouraged to relax their normal application policies. Our current financial troubles are directly attributable to Government intervention in the market as opposed to corporate greed.

Tim, isn't that (giving unqualified borrowers loans then NOT supporting them) called "CAPRICE" ? You are correct that our government made policy... but look who profited...wealthy wall street insiders and bankers. They did it by falsifying the financial instrument.

Unfortunately "deregulation" seems to also mean crime is OK (nihilism in court) since it is likely you will never be held to account honestly and be liable (judge immunity). Fraud (selling rulings) is rampent under "alternative defense" rules.

Not surprising!! The Democrats yap about job creation while they "still allow' 8 million illegal workers to keep their jobs and 14-22 million unemployed legal immigrants and citizens can't find one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not to mention the billions of dollars that would be saved if Obama did his job and told ICE to do theirs, instead he tells them to use "prosecutorial discretion" guidlelines that despicably gives 19 reasons for illegals to stay and keep their jobs-even though 14-22 million of our unemployed legal immigrants and citizens can't find one!!!

The unemployment rate would be cut in almost half and so would the cost if 8 million illegal workers were replaced with 8 million of our unemployed legal immigrants and citizens!!

If the house speaker, John Boehner can't work WITH the president and be appropriately respected to our president, why doesn't he step down. He does seem to use his TV time......

Nonsense! The Speaker of the House isn't elected to work with the President, he is elected to do what he feels is best for the American people.
