I'm beginning to think Obama is the only adult in the room–the only person willing to say he will compromise in order to avoid default. Does anybody out there in LA-LA Tea-party land even understand the gravity of default? Has anybody been looking at what's happening in Greece, Italy and Portugal before that? In case you all haven't noticed, the United States is part of the planet, Earth. Part of the global industrial and financial complex. But we are on the verge of a "tipping point" unless Congress finds the will and courage to pass sensible legislation that would allow us to lower our debt, pay our bills and still support programs that most Americans care about.

Emanual's workout routine???? This is top breaking news??? I give up on mainstreem media. Sick of it all. What about Gaza and the aid flotillas turned away. What about the congressional leaders pushing for the impeachment of Obama. Nope. Won't be found here either. The world spins faster and faster out of controll and this crap is most important.

Gloria Borger's article on Prez. Obama's press conference is very personal, well captured in flowery republican talking points, shockingly lacking in logic and far removed from reality. To suggest that the prez was saying the only thing that will resolve the nation's debt crisis is tax increase on rich people when indeed he did outline several measures to tackle the crisis is quite disappointing...i love this lady but her logic as an analyst has become flatfooted. really...obama is not leading?

Just get this done for Christ sake. The Dems are willing to cut spending. Now if the Republitards would just allow the tax breaks for the rich and oil cronies to go away, then we'll have a deal. SImple isn't it?
